“Poke Bowl in Hillsborough is much better. The poke bowl topping options are limited at Poké star. When you order online, you can only choose one or two, and at Poké bowl you can get as much as you want of any of the toppings. Poke star gave me what I guess is supposed to be sushi rice but it just looks like regular white rice to me. It’s not sticky. Also, the mixed greens consisted of lettuce and huge pieces of spinach with thick, long stems that they should have cut off before serving. Flavor of the tuna was ok. Only saw literally 2 sesame seeds, but the sauce was very good and the place was clean and people were nice. $20 for one protein plus avocado here and it’s $17 for the same at Poke Bowl.“

“We walked into this place last minute on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday since another sushi place had been unable to accommodate gf. We could not have stumbled upon a better experience! Elan at the sushi bar made us a custom omakase tasting all gluten free and so delicious. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and really created a one of a kind meal while making us feel special and taken care of. We ended up with about 15 different courses i believe all fabulous and ended with a special ice cream sushi dessert. Best part was it’s been a bit since we ended and i still feel great, stuffed but i can tell it was celiac safe! We will definitely be back!“

Every morsel served was extraordinary, aesthetically perfect, and the menu was filling (often a problem for me at Omakase places). “Midori Japanese Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish, perfect for a relaxed dining experience.

We started with the miso soup and gyoza, both of which were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The sushi was the real highlight — so fresh and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying their specialty rolls; the Midori Roll was a flavor explosion!

The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is top-notch. For anyone looking for an authentic and reasonably priced Japanese meal, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

“A group of us went for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was empty. Before we even had a chance to order, the owner came over and asked us who we were planning to vote for. Really?? He began talking politics. We were polite but he truly put a damper on our night out. I don't care what party you support, pushing your politics on customers you don't know is offensive and bad business! Reading other reviews on Google, I see he's done this to others. We won't be returning and will spread the word to avoid going there.“

“What a gem! I was blown away by the quality and meticulousness of their nigiri and maki. Stunning fish, very carefully, simply and artfully prepared. Their traditional items were On par with some of the more reputable omakase I’ve had, truly an authentic, unadulterated sushi experience.
