“I often come here for their omakase for special occasions and wanted to reinforce my high opinion of Ai through reviews. However, I saw a few bad reviews and that broke my heart. Ai truly upholds the highest quality sushi. Some things to note: if you don't care all that much about quality of fish, don't go here, you'll just end up complaining that it's too expensive (its not at all for the quality) Additionally, note that this is a no frills omakase experience, don't expect some fancy up the butt service. If they forget to tell you what fish it is, just ask the waitress (I care more about the food than I do the service if you haven't figured) Though, I will say, all the times I've been there, the service has been great. For some background (and perhaps credibility on my taste) I'm an avid sushi enjoyer and by avid I mean I've tried my fair share of high end omakase experiences (Noz included). “We walked into this place last minute on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday since another sushi place had been unable to accommodate gf. We could not have stumbled upon a better experience! Elan at the sushi bar made us a custom omakase tasting all gluten free and so delicious. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and really created a one of a kind meal while making us feel special and taken care of. We ended up with about 15 different courses i believe all fabulous and ended with a special ice cream sushi dessert. “Midori Japanese Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish, perfect for a relaxed dining experience.

We started with the miso soup and gyoza, both of which were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The sushi was the real highlight — so fresh and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying their specialty rolls; the Midori Roll was a flavor explosion!

The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is top-notch. For anyone looking for an authentic and reasonably priced Japanese meal, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

“The food is always good! We’ve gotten appetizers, cooked and raw sushi, bento boxes, pad Thai, hibachi, and soup and they’ve always been tasty. Our biggest issue is that the tables have very little legroom because of the built-in hibachi grills in the booths, which isn’t ideal for our tall family. We still choose to come back despite that because we enjoy it so much!“

“We have been going here for our once a month dinner date for a few years now and are never dissatisfied. They are consistent, friendly to us every time, and quick! it is a BYOB establishment 30$ per person on weekends and $25 on weekdays will get you all you can eat from a menu that has salads, teriyaki choices, tempura choices, a host of apps, and all the sashimi, sushi rolls, and specialty rolls you can think of! My husband gets every appetizer on the menu but really likes the chicken teriyaki and fried shrimp dumplings. I go crazy for their shrimp and salmon sashimi and of course the classic US California roll. The few times we have not been able to finish a few pieces of sushi they have been understanding and not charged us, that being said we’ve seen many people order too much and get a charge. My main advice would be START SLOW. You can order as many times as you want and they are very quick to get the food to you. No need to start with a monster order and end up in a hole! I also recommend getting the hot tea (free refills all night) to help you eat more ! Finally if you are GF either pick up your own bottle at the nearby shoprite or bring one from your house they no longer offer GF soy sauce. My husband ops for spicy Mayo instead but you have to ask for it!“

“I was curious because another reviewer said that out of the 30 ramen places he went to in NJ, this was in the top 3. He’s right! I ordered the black garlic ramen, and it was delicious. Tender pork chasu and the broth wasn’t too salty. I also love that they included corn and bamboo. Very reasonable around $13. Some might want more than 2 pieces of pork, but I thought overall it was a good portion size. We also enjoyed the takoyaki and spicy girl roll (not spicy at all but had salmon, tuna, avocado with crunchy pieces). Service was attentive but not that friendly. Place was clean and decorated with many cool Lego sets! The only negative was the mango bubble tea. It didn’t taste like mango at all. Weird flavor. Save yourself and go to Gong Cha for high quality tea. But I do recommend the food at this place!“

Food and service were absolutely outstanding we used to go to Jersey City to get food like this and it's better here I can't believe I didn't try this place earlier it's right down the street from us but I always thought it was catering only but it's not it's a regular restaurant with a bar area and everyone is so nice they have an outside tables area the parpadel was top notch I may never go anywhere else ever again!!!“

“Several years ago, with an apparent ownership or management change, we had the worst meal and dining experience ever. We had refused to return. Yesterday, having had our 4th of July cookout earlier in the weekend, we decided to give them an opportunity to reclaim past glory. Well, were we surprised. While the dining room was, as we expected, empty of diners for the 4th, a healthy delivery and take-out flow was apparent. We each ordered from the Specials menu featuring hand-made noodles. My Cumin Beef and Won Ton soup was terrific! My wife’s meal, though slightly oily for her taste, was likewise a hit. The apparently well-regarded Sushi bar looked professional and appetizing. Our server listened carefully to our order preferences and all was delivered promptly and correct. There are two menus. One with largely classic Chinese-American usuals and the other with two pages of authentic Chinese variants. Don’t miss the hand-made noodles!“
