“I was looking for a place to hold a small(er) afternoon party for about 60 friends & family members, and McQ’s came highly recommended for great food, wonderful atmosphere, and top notch service. They did not disappoint. The general manager, Alexis was a pleasure to work with, and was helpful with menu choices, and whatever additional asks I had. (A table area for a display, AV hook-up for a slide presentation, and complimentary drink “coupons” for my guests. The entire staff (including the kitchen) was friendly, and determined to make this a fun (and delicious) event. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I give them 5 stars 🌟 out of 5.“

“Love this place. It’s definitely one of the better restaurants/bars in the area. Not like some other restaurants in the area, that charge you a percentage to use your CC. Not only that one particular owner takes tip money away from waitresses because you used your CC. Could you imagine the owner taking tip money away, because a customer used a credit card. Sad for those other restaurants. This place is honest and friendly.“

“On October 23, 2023 we had a wonderful brunch at the George Inn the day after our son's wedding in the area for the guests. We had breakfast and lunch items on the buffet. Everything was fresh and delicious! Our hostess, Linda was fantastic. She made sure all or needs were met and the service was wonderful! Thank you George Inn and Linda for a great event!“

“Run don't walk to this place. We wish came here sooner. It has been our summer go to this year. The nachos are to absolutely die for! Drinks are delicious. Bartenders are sooooo sweet!! 10/10 perfect spot for some outdoor drinks, and a beautiful view. Oh it's raining? No problem. Darts and shuffleboard downstairs and a huge TV. I cannot rave about this place enough and have told anyone willing to listen about it ?“

“Simply put, Charley's is the best outdoor hangout spot on/around Lake Hopatcong! Rented the Game Room Bar for a social with family and friends, and I honestly can't recommend it enough! The food was hot and delicious, awesome drinks, fantastic live music, yard games, and first-class people! The team of Amanda Lear, Amanda ODonnell Braico and Andrea were outstanding! Provided excellent professional, friendly service to make sure all of my guests were comfortable the entire evening. Lots of menu options to choose from on the catering menu (the wings are a must!) as well as flexible bar pricing packages to fit any occasion. It's truly a welcoming place that is always on my short list of options for a quick cold one, lunch or heck the whole evening! I'm already looking forward to the next Game Room social! “I went for MLK day and they had chicken parm, penne alla vodka, green salad, some sandwiches and wraps and cookies and cream cookies for lunch. It is a bit pricey but you can stay and consume in the lounge as long as you wish. There is a patio with a private bonfire you have access to to make s'more's and there is a chocolate station. There is also a cash bar if you are looking for alcoholic beverages. I guess this is nice if you don’t want to deal with the crowded public food court.“

“Came for dinner with another couple. The tapas eggplant was delicious, light and flavorful. Just lovely. We had two burgers and two steaks. All delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful, however, there is a huge bar in the middle of the restaurant. Which normally would not be an issue but this evening four young women were “working” the older men sitting at the bar. It became clear as the evening progressed that this was going on. None of us could believe what was happening right next to our table!! As the targeted men left the bar the young women quickly moved on to their next victims. It was all very obvious and pretty repulsive. Such a shame to have this type of thing happening in a lovely restaurant. I would hope management will be alerted by the bartenders that their establishment has become prey for this type of behavior. Quite unsettling.“

“This was our favorite restaurant for years when we lived in NJ. We were in area last week (after 15 years). WOW - the menu, the food, the cocktails, the service and effort put into everything is still FABULOUS! Our dinner on Friday was so good, we ate there again on Saturday night. We were just getting ready to drive back to the Carolinas after being here with family while feeling a bit melancholy. but everyone here made us feel at home. This restaurant has an elevated, STUNNING views of lake Hopatcong and it's surrounding community. Activities on the water this beautiful Sunday only added to the unequaled dining experience.“
