“I found this gem of a spot when visiting family in NJ. This has to be the best I’ve had since becoming celiac 6 years ago. The bakery items are to die for and the bagel breakfast sandwiches are the best ever. I got to stop in this past weekend and got a few goodies to bring home. If you are gluten free and in the are do not pass this place up.“

“Stefan the new chef has a wonderful restaurant here with fantastic delicacies to choose from. Standouts are his Tuna sushi on rice cakes with caviar. Amazing. Also the steak frites with truffle fries and the tuna carpaccio...just wow. Stefan also had a delicious tapas served as appetizers a few weeks ago with anchovies and other types of seafood served on toasted baguettes. He is friendly and engaging and a great addition to the Ho-Ho-Kus dining scene. Bought St Eves from the previous owners about 2 years ago. Go and Enjoy!“

“This cute bake shop is small, but dense, providing various flavors and products that are hard to find vegan. The cake truffles (Red Velvet and Fudge Brownie) were amazing—fudgy and flavorful on the inside with just enough icing. The cupcakes (tiramisu and Old Skool) were moist with rich filling at the center and a sufficient amount of frosting. Sweet Avenue deserves their due. I hope I can return one day to try more! We were greeted by a sweet, hardworking and dedicated owner who truly caters to and cares for her customers. Unfortunately profits aren’t enough to keep the store up and running and must close August 20th, however, she said she is opening an online store! The permanent menu feels way too heavy on chocolate and chocolate chip variations, and the lemon cookie adds some much-needed variety. It’s bright, tart, and genuinely one of their best cookies. “I have been coming here for years and without fail the quality has never changed. I have brought these pies to parties, work gatherings, and family gatherings and everyone loves them. The spinach pies are tangy and delicious. My kids love the chicken pies. They also sell olive oil, soft drinks, different types of bread and cookies. Once you start going to Ameer’s you can’t stop. Everything is so fresh and authentic.“

He chose a few cookie dough cupcakes, while I got brownie, chocolate-covered strawberry, and vanilla with chocolate frosting cupcakes. I've only tasted the chocolate-covered strawberry one so far, and it was delicious. He didn't regret picking up multiple cookie dough cupcakes. We're looking forward to finishing our selections.
