“YUM YUM YUM First of all Larry, the owner is the nicest guy ever. His homemade items are tremendous and never short on taste or flavor. Here is what i cannot live without. Here goes, his homemade bologna, liverwurst, spicy polish loaf, homemade hot dogs and Spanish hot dogs along with his breakfast sausage are items like you never ever had before. Thank GOD he is right in Mahwah , NJ To get these gems of food, I grew up in the 50's and feel I am back in time when quality meant everything. Make sure you stop there and try everyone of these items and you will be a customer forever. None better. Wherever you are, it is well worth the drive to indulge in these amazingly delicious meats. Odd choice for an Italian sandwich shop, but pop is old and I don’t scoff at anything he does anymore. While he was eating I did something I never do, I asked for a bite. Now I haven’t had tuna fish in over 30 years. He cut me a small piece and passed it over to my plate.Now I need to say, that food is the one thing families have come together over and have since the beginning of time. Back in 2022 we lost mom. When I took a bite of that tuna sandwich, I was immediately transported back to 9 years old eating mom’s tuna.In short…thank you for causing some of the happiest tears I’ve had in a long time and for the trip back in time with a simple and delicious tuna sandwich. It’s just how mom used to make, which is no easy accomplishment.“

“Belle Vita has been under new ownership for a couple of years. The former owners would be pleased. Not only can you get wonderful authentic Italian meats, cheeses and desserts. But!!!! I have to send special thanks. My mom is 90, almost 91. For Christmas she asked for an Italian EASTER holiday specialty, a pie/quiche.It had been so long since she saw one she mixed up Holidays. I was not nice when they said only at Easter. I had to call back and apologize. About 5 minutes later my phone said Sally Boys Deli was calling me. My mothers name is Sally. Apparently the new owners have another deli with that name elsewhere. But It was Chris from Belle Vita. They were going to make me the dish for Mom. When one is a widow, and Mom is 90, all you want is to make her happy. So Belle Vita, Happy 2024, Thank you. :)“

This had to be done while back in Jersey. We stopped at Schreiber's on our way to the airport. 2 perfect sandwiches and a pound of potato salad. All as perfect as I remember. “My go to is the sausage egg and cheese, but all their offerings are good. Excellent taste and can't beat the prices. Service is also quick and friendly. It's close to the train station too so I sometimes grab a bite to eat while I wait for the train.“

“An old school authentic Italian deli run by mom, dad, and their son. The food is outstanding, I had an Italian Combo and my wife had a turkey sub, there was no skimping on the ingredients, WOW! As for the pizza ? we traveled here from Cape Cod in search of the best pizza from Rockland County NY through Bergen County NJ. We eventually landed here at Petrillos and met John and his parents working behind the counter. An old school hard-working family making traditional pizzas. We were blown away by what they had created, a super tasty combination of classic sauce and the perfect amount of cheese on a slightly crispy underbody with a soft but crisp crust. We ordered 13 pizzas that day, 10 plain,1 green pepper & onion, and 2 chicken cutlet and cherry pepper. After trying the Chicken cutlet and cherry pepper I called the next morning and ordered 3 more...wow it was awesome. Upon picking up the pizzas Sunday morning we discovered John making breakfast on the flat-top grill so my wife ordered French toast and bacon, yum! We gave this establishment a 5-star review but on a scale of 1-10 we gave our highest review 9.8 only because there has to be room for something higher, we just haven't found it yet. “Came in with no expectations and was very happily surprised at how welcoming and helpful the staff was. I got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and an iced coffee. The food was delicious and perfectly priced. The coffee also exceeded my expectations and was tasty. The food also came out very quickly and they even let me eat before paying. Unfortunately, the owner (a super nice gentleman) has a group of consistently miserable people working for him. Ordering anything, especially asking for no lettuce, you will get an exasperated look , followed by a look of contempt at the end. Sad to see these people have come to work here from wherever they're from and feel entitled enough to treat this man's customers that way. So if you want really good food and a scowl doesn't bother you, try this deli out the food is consistently fresh.“
