“Gencarelli's has been around for over 25 years so you know they must be doing something right over here and that fact remains totally obvious in every delicious bite of literary everything that comes outta this super legit old school Pizzeria Restaurant. And lately I gotta say that their one-of-a-kind thin crust style Pizza has gained all my attention and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to break its hold. It's pretty easy to see what makes this Pizza something special even from the first glance you take of it. Pies here appear to be larger than most other places around and I think that's because they use the same amount of dough but they just expand it in order to keep that thin crispy crust texture that they're locally known for. Toppings are also uniquely special here and certain combinations can't even be found anywhere else that I know of, which also adds to the "cravability factor" this spot maintains over my tastebuds. All ingredients are fresh and noticeably appealing with each and every tremendously tasty bite. Yup, I'm definitely hooked on this Cheesy, Saucy, yet firmly flexible thin crust style Pizza and I'll do my best to keep my composure as I wait patiently until my next visit. I should also mention the incredible menu full of Italian inspired food that they offer here too other than what I've already covered, but since exceptional Pizza is the first thing you see upon entering it's pretty easy to overlook everything else. “This place is fantastic!!! The pasta was to die for! The lamb pizza I’ve been thinking about since I’ve eaten it! The only hiccup was that they were short staffed in the kitchen so we were there for a very long time AND my husbands steak was over cooked. They did more than enough to make it right and were very apologetic. The place is very cute and homey inside. PLUS BYOB! We will be back again that’s for sure !“

“Love this place. We’ve been coming here since we moved to the area 8 years ago. They’ve hosted our first baby shower and my parents birthday party. The food is excellent, I’m partial to the chicken Marsala and chicken francese. They also do a nut free pesto on request which is huge for nut allergy people like myself. “This place is unbelievable!!! My husband and i went for a quick lunch date and man, our only regret is that we hadn't tried it sooner. We got a salad, broccoli rabe, and the classic pizza to share. Everything was amazing. The pizza was like being back in Italy. We also got the nutella desert which should be illegal. Cannot wait to try our way through the menus. “When I arrived with my 4 year old daughter, I realized this restaurant may be a little more formal than we expected and not a place that served many kids. However, our experience was wonderful, and I can’t wait to go back. The staff treated my daughter so nicely & made her feel welcome, the food was delicious, they had a nice wine list, and a lot of care went into every detail. This is how a restaurant should be. Everything we ordered was tasty & well prepared, we had a nice swordfish appetizer and whole branzino that was filleted table side. Leading up to the event we worked with the owner who was responsive and accommodating - answering all our questions. “I really really really like this place. I ordered penne (a form of pasta) with butter alongside my family, and I love this place very much. The penne is beyond the term exquisite and the butter with it was amazing. I can only say the downside is the physical appearance and even then I like it. It's a little cramped and it's relatively hard to navigate when with a group even though the place is small, but I genuinely love this place very much. “Came here on Pi day 3/14 for a large plain pie and a grandma’s pie. The plain pie is 11.00 and the grandmas was a little higher. The style is thin crust and does not disappoint. “This is a place we want to even during the pandemic, when there was hardly anyone there. Food is excellent, prefix menu before 6 pm is wonderful. It is small, like someone's living room. which is intimate, but you are delegated to a small table when you made reservations for two.. The tables that are for two are so close you hear every conservation and hardly room for your food. I asked if we could have a table for four when we went in at 5:30. Waiter said we could not have a table for four because there were others coming in with 4 .. After we were eating I saw a couple come in and they had a table for 4 but only two of them...Could it be they called the waiter by name? made me feel that all patrons are not created equal....obviously we were not. Good for 3-4 but not two. I asked if we came in at 4 pm, could we have a table for 4 and out by 5.....no was the answer. “I've been wanting to come here for so long, and for my Morris county friends who grew up in the Italian triangle (Belleville Bloomfield nutley) this is the best kept secret. This is the real deal, they even have nastos desserts from Newark. Super happy to order Easter pies from here and they stock my beloved San bernadetto iced tea! “I made a reservation for 6 (4 adults & 2 kids) through OpenTable for a Saturday dinner at 6. We were seated right away. The place looks like a house and before it was Locanda it was the Montville Inn. We started off with a bottle of Malbec and bread. For primi (appetizers), we ordered the calamari & shrimp with hot cherry peppers off the specials menu, risotto maile, zucchini flowers and mussels. The zucchini flowers were delicious (they come only 2 but we were asked if we wanted to add a 3rd one for $4 which we did). The mussels were not my favorite but my husband loved them. The risotto with the black truffle was incredible - very flavorful. The calamari and shrimp were a hit with the kids. For the main, we ordered different things off the menu but I got the Papardella which was delicious but unfortunately I was all carbed out so we took it home. Kids split the salmon and my husband got the fusili pasta special which was a little on the spicy side. The service was great in the beginning but as dinner went on, our server went missing and we were trying to catch other servers to grab dirty dishes or pay the check. We waited a long time trying to pay (+30 min) and my husband ended up going to the front to ask to pay because we all just wanted to go home. Food was great but service needs a but of tune up.“

“I ordered the chicken parm dinner and it was fantastic. This is one of the best chicken parm’s I think I’ve ever had. Thin chicken cutlets that are pan fried and crispy with the perfect amount of cheese melted on top. The sauce was great and the garlic bread was like nothing I’ve ever had before but it was very good. The best part was they delivered it to an address I’m parked at for the night with my tractor trailer.“

I haven't tried any of their bakery items and have always gotten my food to-go but they do have a wide selection of foods from every category, and have ample seating available for those wishing to dine in. Parking is a little weird as the shop is at the top of a hill, and the area tends to be swarmed with police cars. But the lot is big enough you won't have any trouble getting a spot. If you're looking for a sandwich recommendation, listen to what all the reviews are saying and try to the eggplant - you won't be disappointed. It isn't even just the eggplant, all the ingredients come together well. The mozzarella is extremely fresh too. They also have several other spreads and toppings you can substitute or add on if you wish if you prefer to customize your sandwich. Price might seem a little high for a sandwich, but the portion size makes up for it, and to be honest it's pretty in line with competitors.“

“Authentic Greek food down to the water. Super professional Gyros. Everything was delicious and Fresh. I tried a chicken Gyro and a Lamb Gyro. Both were the best i’ve ever had. The meat was seasoned perfect and tender. Gyros were filled to the max and were very filling with tzatziki sauce, lettuce , tomato , onion and even some French fries. I also had fried Lobster claws with a Remoulade sauce over cabbage slaw which was absolutely phenomenal and a chicken Souvlaki platter which was just as good as everything else. I didn’t make it to dessert but they had plenty of options from salads , Gyros, Greek platters and even flatbreads. I will definitely be back to try other things. “I am giving Lucco five stars, but with a caveat. First, their food is outstanding. That's why they deserve the five stars. And I believe most reviews should be based on the merrit of the food and not on "how long someone had to wait" or "all the meals didn't come out at the same time".Anyone who has been here knows that it is SUPER LOUD in there, hence the atmosphere rating.My biggest issue is their takeout. I understand wanting to prioritize the patrons on location at the moment, that's legit money being made right there, however, if they do choose to go that route, they should either stop or pause delivery and togo orders during their "peak" hours. It's frustrating to place an order only to have to wait 30 minutes for it to be "accepted" and then being told it will be another hour before it's delivered. For me personally, no big deal, however, I can see that being very offputting for the majority of the food ordering public. Just my two cents as someone who is now 47 and has been in customer service since I was 14, a good amount of that time in the food industry.“

Expertly made... dense, sturdy, flavorful, with a mighty crust (that'll give your Fixodent a workout!). Take a few steps towards the 'back' and now you're at the deli and it's overflowing with options. Each item looks bewitching and alluring and before you can even finish saying, "A pound of..." - somehow it's already sliced and bagged and the guy is waiting on the next item you need. (Maybe it's that luscious square of eggplant parm that they've intentionally left "posed" on top of the spatula or the Italian hot dog platter or that mountain of sauteed broccoli rabe that you know it's going to have that perfect 'bite'.) And as soon as you get home you immediately start crafting what's to be a most perfect sandwich with their seeded semolina, fresh ball of mootz (so creamy and delectable), and a few other odds-and-ends you snagged. Thank goodness this town is big enough for more than one amazing Italian deli and I don't have to pick which is my all-time fave.“
