“I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food. And my Spouse is from Mexico.
We ate here today, Monday, 10/14/24, around 4:00 p.m., it was our first visit.
The food was awesome!
We each had Enchiladas De Mole Oaxaqueño con Pollo ( Chicken ) comes with rice and beans on the side.
The chicken was tender,the Mexican rice was fresh and excellent, the beans were good. The side of Salsa Picante ordered specially, was great on the rice. The most delicious item was the Mole Oaxaquena; dark, rich, and with some spice!!! Also had a side of Guacamole that was fresh and very good! Orchata was good.
The tortillas are handmade! Prices were very fair and the place is BYOB. I would recommend this establishment for an authentic Mexican meal!!! Most Especially…..the Mole Oaxaquena!!!
Atmosphere and Decor was okay. The servers were friendly and efficient!

“If you like Mexican chain food restaurants this is the place to go. The inside of the restaurant was nice. A little weird that they had Spanish music outside the restaurant, but indoors, you felt like you were in a techno club. This is not authentic Mexican food for those who enjoy the taste of a good home cooked meal.“

“I’m about a month behind on this review but I love this restaurant! The food is always good and we always get great service. I ordered two Caja Loca packs and some extra stuff for my husband’s birthday back in August. I came by the day before and paid for it all, told them when I needed it, and it was super easy to take care of. I came by the next day and it was hot and ready for us. They were very sweet and the food was incredible. And it fed a bunch of us! Love El Pollito Loco and their staff. Thanks for making my husband’s birthday special. You guys are great!“

“Not flashy, simple, deli kind of set up. almost hole in the wall. My first impression was....ummm..naa..but since my wife picked up the place, I kind of kept quiet and was willing to try it. Boy was I wrong!! This place turned out to be AMAZING. Probably one of the best Mexican food we have had. Ask for a burrito with BBQ sauce inside it.“

“Authentic Mexican food. I had the chili Relleno which was delicious. The chilequiles verde con carne were a very light green that I have never seen before but they were not lacking in flavor....they were pretty good. The tamales were a bit dry however. Last time we had tacos al pastor which were delicious. The owners are very nice and friendly. A nice find. They only have 4 tables inside. They do mostly takeout...but both times we ate in and noticed alot of repeat customers and the owners greeting them. Nice customer interaction. I will go back and continue to try new things!“

“I ordered for the first time here. I ordered a bowl with grilled chicken. The bowl was missing the chicken. The website sent the order to the store missing the grilled chicken so definitely not the fault of the store. When I came back they showed me the slip confirming that the mistake was on the end of the website. They were super nice about it and just added the grilled chicken to the bowl for me. Both people working there were helpful and nice.“
“Great food with affordable prices. Perfect for breakfast and lunch with extremely polite employees and very quick service. You can sit outside on the picnic benches to eat or get your food ordered to go. Call ahead if you would like and pick up or pull over and enjoy some great food. “We were in manasquan and walked into the Commited Pig, only one choice of soup and no Caesar salad so we couldn’t COMMIT!…see this Mexican restaurant across the street, decide to try and WOW! “Along the stalls of the seaside boardwalk taco-tastic caught my eye because of its loud fun music and limited menu (so of course it must be delicious). I am so glad I forewent a boardwalk slice or gyro and went here instead. The Birria tacos were delicious- braised breef and crispy shell, with the most perfect consume. The Mexican corn was absolutely insane - the combo of flavors delicious! And the best empanada I’ve ever had? It was mouth watering and melty. “Our "Go-to" when coming back from the beach. Great selection, always fresh and made to order. We love eating outside when the weather permits- Music selection playing is perfect. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They need to clean the bathrooms more often- Kinda nasty!
