“Goldberg’s Famous Bagels in Pompton Lakes, NJ, is a gem worth visiting! My experience here was nothing short of phenomenal, and I’m happy to share my thoughts.

First off, the location is super convenient with plenty of parking inside the plaza, which is a big plus for anyone familiar with the parking challenges in this area.

The staff are absolutely wonderful—courteous, respectful, patient, and extremely welcoming. Their friendliness makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. A younger gentleman, who I believe might be the owner or manager, was particularly helpful. He went above and beyond to recommend a bagel option for me when the one I originally wanted was out of stock. His recommendations did not disappoint, and I truly appreciated the effort he made to ensure I had a great experience.

Though I visited after lunchtime, which explains why a few options were unavailable, it’s understandable given the popularity of the place. Even then, the overall atmosphere and the attentive service more than made up for it.

The bagels themselves? Amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you’d expect from a place with "famous" in the name.

All in all, Goldberg’s Famous Bagels deserves five stars for their fantastic food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great bagel experience!

“If there were more stars, I'd give them. We are from out of state (formerly from Waldwick) and needed to send a brunch catering to a dear family. Bagel Supreme was professional, sweet, considerate and kind. I called on a Sunday afternoon at 1 PM (about an hour before the store closed) and the owner had his wife call "within the hour." She did and spent time with me on the phone getting the right order to fit my request for the family. Then sent multiple texts to confirm everything throughout the evening. Talk about going ABOVE AND BEYOND! They delivered PROMPTLY as promised the next day and they sent us pictures of the platters to ensure that we saw what was delivered. Greeting cards to mark the occasion with our thoughts HAND WRITTEN were attached. The store would NOT take money until the order was delivered even though I offered to pay in advance. I will absolutely use them in the future for long distance gift giving (who doesn't like food as a gift)? And this will be our very first stop when we are back in town. 1,000% recommend!!!“

Get there before 3;30 PM if you want sliced cheese because they close the slicer at 3;30. I know if I get there at 3;32 PM the slicer is off. So I get tuna fish instead and it’s about as good as it gets. The staff is friendly and do a good job. What a place!“

I called 5 Brothers from Wisconsin (not knowing anything about delis or restaurants in Lincoln Park, New Jersey—just going by google search) to order a couple trays of food for a memorial service in Lincoln Park which I could not attend. I am so happy my Google search led me to such a professional and helpful business. The two brothers I worked with listened to my situation and understood what I was hoping to provide food-wise, and then they suggested a mixed tray of baked goods and desserts that were perfect. They even sent me photos and a video of the finished trays of goodies after they put them together. And then they delivered. Amazing. Top-notch customer service. I highly recommend this company for food delivery and catering. Good, good people.“

“This place is so damn good! A couple of days ago I got, Fresco’s Bagels, for breakfast. It was fantastic. I had ordered their Garlic Bagel Toasted w/ Cream Cheese. I’ve honestly never had a bagel that good before. The exterior was crunchy and crispy, while the interior was airy and fluffy. Absolutely amazing. The cream cheese was an awesome compliment too. The lady who took my order was nice and attentive. Made sure my order was correct and had a wonderful personality. And the fact that I was in and out in less than 10 minutes was a major plus. I was in a rush, and famished. I would usually order two bagels (typically with bacon TML 😉), and man was I PO’d I did not get another one. I’D HIGHLY RECOMMEND, Fresco’s Bagels, to anyone in the, Pequannock Township area, and looking for an excellent breakfast!“

“Listen they got the food down packed! But the service needs improvements and the quality of requests needs to be honored more efficiently! The truth is a hard working man doesn't want to come in more then once and have issues with their sandwich and have to wait much longer too get a new one. Nobody likes that in 2025. “This is one of my favorite food places. The bakery goods are fantastic. Bagels are made on premises and if you get lucky, you can get them fresh out of the oven.

Though not high end dining, this restaurant checks the boxes. Food is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is not fair to rate the atmosphere on the same plane as the other two. It’s not fancy but quite functional. Especially since it’s usually utilized as a take out place. Most of the time, I’m passing through. I phone in my order and pick it up shortly after. BTW, the tuna and chicken salads are to die for. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. The egg salad is no slouch either.“

I went to another location on Mcbride Ave next to Chase Bank as per Google it stated they opened at 6am. “This was my first time visiting this location after living in Clifton since 1999. I always go to “Hot Bagels Abroad” for my breakfast sandwiches but decided today to try another location…..and I’m glad I did. Customer service was A1 (top tier) . The woman who assisted was very welcoming and friendly. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a whole wheat bagel. My bagel was warm, eggs at a perfect temperature and cheese ratio was perfect. I enjoyed my bagel and will definitely be making another trip back soon.“

“I used to come here all the time in college, circa '98, '99. I haven't been there in quite a few years, but decided to stop with my son the other day. I ordered a Taylor Ham and cheese on a toasted plain bagel and he had a plain bagel with cream cheese. It was the best I've had in years!! Now my son is asking me everyday to take a ride up there. “Great spot for fresh bagels, they have a simple variety and have several cream cheeses, not as many as I'm used to seeing in traditional bagel places. Bakers dozen gives you a free bagel! Staff is friendly and quick with the service. 12 bagels and 1 pound of scallion cream cheese is $27 here for quick reference.“

“The team here work very hard and take amass amount of orders during the morning rush. You may have to make multiple calls in order to put in an order on the phone. Lines are usually at the door and that’s because they do AJ amazing job with making their food. I’ve had their chicken sandwiches and breakfast menu items. Great establishment altogether.

One thing to note, although they say they do not make their bagels with eggs or dairy, I gave my son a plain bagel (who is allergic to eggs and dairy) and he got a really bad rash reaction. So I’d imagine there is plenty of cross contamination happening there of some sort when handling the food.

“Nestled in a small strip mall next to the Mahwah train station, this deli is charming, the owner and staff are friendly (it’s family run), and the food is really good. I have been here three times in the past two weeks, and I have been very satisfied each time. I do plan on becoming a regular customer. There are daily soups and specials, the latter of which can be purchased as a single serving or family style (feeds 4-5 people). Each day of the week has its own special item, but the specials remain the same for each day from one week to the next. We recently had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Tortellini Alfredo daily special, family style. It was just for the two of us, but we got two entire meals out of it (four individual servings). It was delicious. They have an interesting and eclectic mix of menu items, including empanadas, chicken wings, gyros, taquitos, antipasto, stuffed peppers, sliders (burger, chicken, and pulled pork), meatballs, heroes, soups, salads, and desserts. While they do serve heroes, this does not appear to be the kind of deli where you go for, say, a typical roast beef or tuna fish sandwich with a side of regular potato salad. In the deli case, though, I did notice items like white meat chicken salad, country Coleslaw, green beans oreganata, pasta primavera, cucumber salad, salmon cakes, and stuffed filet of sole. There is a small selection of packaged items (potato chips, pasta), jarred items (pickles, olives, peppers, marinated mushrooms, and condiments), candy, and snacks. There are two refrigerators filled with “Grab ‘n Go” items. They also have a catering menu. For those who may want to stay and eat, there is a small countertop area with seats for four people. There is also a bench at the front window where you can sit and wait for your order to be prepared. You can join their VIP mobile club and receive a discount and daily text messages with a photo of the day’s special and pricing. There is parking directly in front of the store as well as at a right angle in front of the train station. (Those who ride the commuter train usually park on the other side of tracks in a designated parking lot.) If you live in the area, this place is definitely worth a try.
