“Our first time going to the Totowa location (met up with friends for lunch). Staff was very friendly and helpful - we decided to eat outside and they brought the food to us quickly. We had the tacos, regular bowl with carnitas and fajita bowl with steak and pina-mango drink. Food was very tasty and freshly made. Will come back to try El Pastor. Definitely recommend Sombrero Tacoria.”

“I came to the restaurant in the hope of getting a plate of sashimi. However, the menu did not have it available except for a small couple of pieces portion or a la carte. So I had a sushi roll version made up for me with cucumber. Because it's not a traditional Japanese sushi sashimi place with many fresh fish options, I only had the basic fish options like tuna, salmon and yellowtail. In terms of freshness, it was good. I'm sure the regular sushi rolls are fine but I didn't try any since my heart was set on sashimi. They tried the best they could to accommodate me.”

“One of the best subs I’ve had! It tastes super fresh. I got the red pepper mayonnaise and there’s nothing more to say about it other than how good it was! The hot dogs were really good too. Owner was super friendly as well. No complaints from me! We WILL be back.”

“With the TV on and the Mexican music playing, it was sensory overload for me! The waitress did turn off the tv when asked. She was very sweet.

They do not serve complementary chips and salsa like other places do. Waitress was very polite but knew very little English, which made my family nervous as we have food allergies and are vegetarians. However, the order was fine and the food seemed to be of good quality. I thought that $55 was a little pricey for a family of four, but I’m sure that some people could have gone cheaper.”

“The Pizza is Fantastic. My 10 yr old was having a blah day. He said the only thing that could fix it was pizza. It had to be in Pompton Lakes and it had to be Nicky G's. We had 2 slices each (which is a lot for him), a Yoohoo for him and a Nicky G's Vanilla soda for me. It was definitely worth the cost, which wasn't expensive at all.”

“In my continued quest to find a New York style Chinese restaurant, based on recommendations from neighbors, I tried this restaurant. I ordered online at their website which was fairly easy to do. Being a bargain hunter I couldn’t resist the family dinner for six. It came with six egg rolls, six chicken on sticks, six cheese wontons, 2 quarts of soup, two quarts of fried rice, and choice of three entrees. It came with all of the appropriate sauces, crispy noodles, etc. The delivery was promised in 55 minutes and the food arrived exactly on-time. The egg rolls were crispy and very good. The chicken on the stick was very moist and tasty. The wonton soup was tasty and very traditional. The cheese wontons were a very nice starter and the dipping sauce added nice sweetness. For entrees we had sesame chicken which got a thumbs up from my wife. I ordered roast pork lo mein which was also a thumb up. I struggled deciding on a third entree and finally gave in to honey chicken (not my personal favorite because of the thick coating batter). Overall, a very competent dinner. I’m glad the food was really good because we’ll be eating the leftovers for many days!”

“I love Hug a Mug so much!! The owner is incredibly kind and makes sure to get to know her customers. The baristas seem to have expertise and knowledge about coffee and are passionate to work here. It’s a great environment to relax in after a long day, and their seating is super comfortable and has good variety. I tell people to visit all the time :)”

“I recently ordered from The Den, it’s a charming new BYOB spot that has quickly become a favorite. The service was impeccable from start to finish; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. As for the food, every dish was a masterpiece—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the perfectly seasoned appetizers to the mouthwatering entrees, each bite was a delight. “This is a classic New Jersey pizzeria. Owner is very nice. The workers are very nice and one thing I noticed about this restaurant is they are very, very clean, which says a lot nowadays. I’ve had different slices throughout the years and it’s always good today. I tried the buffalo slice. This one was pretty good. There was a lot of cheese on it and when they make their buffalo slice, they have the tomato sauce with it so it depends on your preference. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area next time.”

“I can’t rave enough about Gene and the gang at Frank’s Pizza. Our son was in a play at StageWorks 237 on Hamburg Turnpike. We don’t know the area well but I was looking, last minute (Thurs 11/3, the first night of the show) for somewhere to have a cast party for 19 kids and at least one chaperone per kid on Sat 11/5 after the show. I thought it would be easy to find a pizza place because where we live most places are open on Saturdays until at least 10-11p Finding an appropriate place was proving to be very difficult because apparently most places in Pompton Lakes close by 8:30p, even on Saturday. I asked the pizza place closest to the theater, which shall remain nameless, but they not-so-nicely turned me away, even though I was going to guarantee them 30-40 people. I kept googling and found Frank’s, just a minute down the road. I was nervous to ask because of how I was treated at the other place but I cautiously asked Gene if they could host our party. He enthusiastically agreed. What made this even nicer is that they actually close at 8:30p but would stay open for us - which meant that we had the whole place to ourselves! We started trickling in about 8:50p. Approximately 40 people. Gene had a full staff - two wonderful servers who graciously dealt with our chaos and like four guys dealing with the counter orders. There was more than enough food, everything was delicious, and they couldn’t have been nicer. If we do any other plays at StageWorks or Rhino theaters, Frank’s will be our only choice for our cast party. It was so amazing for the kids to have closure on their play in such a great space. It’s large, clean, and the servers are fantastic. I don’t know if they normally do parties but if you’re thinking of having a large gathering in this area, this is the place to do it. The kids appreciated it so much! Thank you Gene and staff!”
