50 Best Chinese Restaurants near Pompton Lakes

“In my continued quest to find a New York style Chinese restaurant, based on recommendations from neighbors, I tried this restaurant. I ordered online at their website which was fairly easy to do. Being a bargain hunter I couldn’t resist the family dinner for six. It came with six egg rolls, six chicken on sticks, six cheese wontons, 2 quarts of soup, two quarts of fried rice, and choice of three entrees. It came with all of the appropriate sauces, crispy noodles, etc. The delivery was promised in 55 minutes and the food arrived exactly on-time. The egg rolls were crispy and very good. The chicken on the stick was very moist and tasty. The wonton soup was tasty and very traditional. The cheese wontons were a very nice starter and the dipping sauce added nice sweetness. For entrees we had sesame chicken which got a thumbs up from my wife. I ordered roast pork lo mein which was also a thumb up. I struggled deciding on a third entree and finally gave in to honey chicken (not my personal favorite because of the thick coating batter). Overall, a very competent dinner. I’m glad the food was really good because we’ll be eating the leftovers for many days!“

“Wife and I just bought our first Home and have been searching for the best Chinese food store with the best tasting food. Everything is properly seasoned food is always hot and the portions are great. Also other Chinese food in the area use a weird type of Rice which is disgusting but Golden Garden’s fried rice is to die for. The price is awesome for the quality of food we received. Thank God we Found our Favorite take out spot makes us feel Like we’re back in New York City.

“I came to the restaurant in the hope of getting a plate of sashimi. However, the menu did not have it available except for a small couple of pieces portion or a la carte. So I had a sushi roll version made up for me with cucumber. Because it's not a traditional Japanese sushi sashimi place with many fresh fish options, I only had the basic fish options like tuna, salmon and yellowtail. In terms of freshness, it was good. I'm sure the regular sushi rolls are fine but I didn't try any since my heart was set on sashimi. They tried the best they could to accommodate me.“

“Came here for lunch, they have a lunch special Monday-Saturday 11am-3pm. I had the general Tso chicken. Overall my food was good. It was spicy, fresh, and flavorful. The restaurant is clean and tidy, although, they should make it look prettier with some Chinese decor. Food was served fast. No complaints or issues. I would recommend this restaurant.“

“Been going to this place for many years and can't believe I have never reviewed it before. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. We have tried quite a few but always come back to China City. The food is fresh and tasty, portions are large and orders are ready when they tell you. Family that runs it is wonderful. They were closed during a good portion of Covid and we struggled to find an acceptable replacement. Judging by the lines out their door when they reopened many other people thought the same.“

“I enjoyed my lunch here - the scallion pancakes were really tasty! The fried rice was a little underwhelming, but all in all the meal was tasty. I would recommend as a quick lunch spot or you can order ahead like me! Side note - the guy working the front was very kind :)

“When our family have a meeting, we order Chinese-Peruvian food from this restaurant. Always enjoy the art of mixture between Chinese and Peruvian flavors. They made the best Wantan Soup, Arroz Chaufa and many other delicatessen plates, include family size to pick up. And of course, we are Peruvians!!“

“This place should have more stars than it does! We ALWAYS have a great experience at Ringwood Chinese, switched from Ho King in Pompton. Great prices, nice portions..food is not too greasy, and always a good delivery experience. 5 stars from someone who's picky about chinese food!“

“I usually don't eat New Jersey Chinese food. Nyc has better, but win wah is up there with nyc Chinese food. Looks are deceiving to say the least. From the outside you'd think to yourself. Man! “Always nice on phone and in person.Delivery is excellent. I tell them no hurry as I am not in a rush, and don't want to stress them since they work so hard, but food is always on time. Portions are generous and delicious. They cater to my vegetarian meal requests by replacing meats with bean curd,etc.“

“Went there for lunch and ordered a sesame chicken meal and paid about $10, but boy was it worth it! The food was good and the meal came with an egg roll plus pork fried rice and really filled me up. 10/10 would definitely eat here again.

“The food taste so good. And there FREE item like FREE can soda, Ice Tea and some food can be FREE too. And sometimes, they give out COUPONS for ONLINE order like take OFF MONEY for the orders you makes ONLINE. I live 15 to 18 minutes away from the Chinese restaurant. They get in VERY FAST. And I did not expect that FAST. And I order like $30 to $40, I expect that to be here in 1 hour but they get here in 30 minutes. Also I got 2 Ice Tea FREE too.“

“Great place for dim sum. They have a wide variety of classics (like egg tart, chicken feet, fried pork buns, etc) and non-classics (like clams, shrimp, crab, mango sago, etc). Their prices range from $4.50 for a small dim sum to $12 for “chef” dim sum.

The service is fast. We came during brunch hours on a Sunday and even though there was a lot of people, we were instantly seated. And as soon as we got a table, the dim sum carts swung by right away. The servers can be a bit aggressive in insisting you take certain dishes (by placing them on the table before you’ve agreed to them), but as long as you say no they’ll take them away.

The inside is your typical Chinese dim sum restaurants with round tables and many dim sum carts running around.

The bathroom is clean and large with multiple stalls. It looks relatively new.

We parked in the lot outside and had no trouble finding parking.

There doesn’t seem to be good reception for AT&T here so we had some trouble navigating away after eating here.

“The staff are pleasant and the quality of the food is wonderful! They give you generous portions for a reasonable price! Moreover, they provide fast delivery. This establishment is my go to for Chinese cuisine!“

“It was a baby shower hosted by the parents of the first time mother. The menu chosen by the father was selecting 90 percent of the delicious dim sum on themenu. We had every dish commonly enjoyed by families.

There were 30 tables with many young children all enjoying the food and the occasion. It was a wonderful celebration for new life, a new baby for expecting parents, grandparents, and family members and friends. The food, service, and the general happiness of the attending members was memorable.“

“The girl was pretty polite on phone , she even made sure that I am in calling for the right place. Had ordered a small chicken soup and chicken fried rice . Food was really good. For sure I will recommend this place. One extra star for hospitality as well.“

“Be patient and prepare for waiting for order and waiting for dishes (because there is only one server……), then all is good!! Can’t complain everything else, the seafood is so fresh and umami, seasoning is perfect, and lots of variety, and… very cheap (comparing to other seafood restaurants)!!! “Best local place for traditional Americanized Chinese food. They usually have the order ready within 20 minutes from your call and are reasonably cheap for the size of the portions. Each dish is flavorful and its a nice treat when you don't feel like cooking. They have a small parking lot in front too for covenience if you pick up!

“So to be honest the food is so GOOOD LIKE AMAZING because the egg roll is so delicious and the fired chicken it so gooodd i would recommend the egg roll and fired chicken but the only that made me confused was the floor the floor was a mess and the wall is super dirty. And also is flys too and they prices are kinda high but overall they food is so amazing so I give it a 3.9 I just wouldn’t recommend dining in but overall they food is so amazing and delicious but the table was dirty so we had to clean it up but the food is good hot n fresh“

We’ve ordered Lo mein, steamed dumplings, chicken with garlic sauce, general tsos chicken, chicken with broccoli and pork fried rice. Five star review every time, this is our third time ordering and the new Chinese place for us in the indefinite future. Fast delivery usually. “Great old school neighborhood Chinese restaurant at low prices. Classic renditions of standards like wonton soup, fried rice, egg foo young, and shrimp with lobster sauce are all spot on. The servers work their tails off, and they’re lovely, but unfortunately they’re juggling dine-in and takeout and the latter is voluminous. The decor is dated, but I prefer they keep it that way and not raise prices!“

“It’s stuffed potatoe with tuna(“causa rellena de atún”)or with chicken is delicious in all it’s presentations: the entrée from the menu, the one a la carte and the little balls of causa for catering! The purple drink(“chicha morada”)has the exactly taste of the traditional recipe; the owners and the employees are always happy and kind!“

“The best in town, my family goes nowhere else for Chinese. The Lady at the front desk is always kind, polite, and happy! “Goody Chinese Take-Out is my absolute favorite spot for Chinese food! Their rotisserie chicken is out of this world. The flavors are insane - perfectly seasoned, crispy skin, and tender meat. “I had the best ever hot and sour soup from here! I’ve had this soup from many different Chinese restaurants before and this restaurant has the best I’ve eaten so far. Love the flavor and the beautiful pieces of mushrooms, it’s delicious! Definitely recommend. The chicken lo mein was very good too, but I wish there was a little bit more chicken in there.
