“I recently checked out this local Chinese spot and I’m honestly pretty excited about it. It’s great to find a place where you can get all the dishes we usually crave in one convenient spot. The bubble teas here are also very good and refreshing.

The pork soup dumplings are tasty and hold their own compared to some of the best I’ve had. The braised beef noodle soup is rich and comforting, while the bao chicken is flavorful and satisfying.

Portions are generous for the price, which makes it a solid value overall. The restaurant itself is modern and clean, giving off a nice vibe. Just a heads up though, it’s not really the best spot for parties larger than 6 people. But for smaller groups or casual meals, it’s a winner.“

Although their cuisine isn't as greasy as that of some Chinese restaurants, I would argue that their pricing are a little expensive! Anyone in the neighborhood searching for delicious Cantonese cuisine should definitely check it out, in my opinion. The proprietors are welcoming and will always make you feel welcome.“

“Really delicious sushi and Chinese food. The sushi is not omakase but tasty for the price and variety. I order off the diet menu regularly, shrimp and broccoli and fried dumplings. Best ginger sauce ever for dipping items off the diet menu. I skip the dumpling sauce and use the ginger sauce for everything lol. Wonton soup is also delicious. They are always so nice and happy when I arrive to pick up my order. One day I ordered delivery and within 30 minutes the order was at my door. Not crispy as from can see in pic. Was this really beef also? Walnuts were plain as well.Steamed Spinach Dumplings were a bit dry . “I recently visited Yangji, a fantastic lamb skewer restaurant. The skewers are perfectly seasoned and cooked, full of flavor every time. The dumplings are incredible, and their Hot & Sour soup is on another level. I’ve tried countless Chinese spots over the years and nothing comes close to this place.

“We are seriously SO impressed with Essex Chinese Kitchen. The food is amazing — everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and high quality. And on top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the portions you get.

We ordered the bubble teas (brown sugar milk tea and original milk tea), and they were SO good — perfectly balanced with that floral black tea flavor coming through. Not overly sweet, just smooth and refreshing.

I got the golden fried brown shrimp with fried rice and it was FIRE. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli, and they absolutely do NOT skimp on portions. The serving sizes were generous and so satisfying.

The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

“Super impressed by how authentic the food here is. We just moved to NJ from California and have been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant that’s not just about chow mein or general tso. Forgot to take pictures of all dishes. The spicy dishes have very complex tastes than just spicy, and the non spicy dishes are also super fresh and flavorful. The restaurant does get busy because it’s very popular amongst Chinese people, but the staff is always attentive and makes sure that all of our needs are met. I stopped eating just to write how much I love this spot. I order almost once a week. The food never disappoints and I believe they truly deserve 5 stars. They have wonderful customer service, always pleasant when I call, speedy delivery, and quality food (and packaging) There is no other chinese food in bergen country i’ve found that I can say has all of these qualities about them. Tonight I ordered sweet and sour chicken with chicken lo mein. The lo mein is so good I would give it a 9/10. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite. 10/10. Highly recommend if you want quick delivery and great chinese food.“

“The food at this Chinese restaurant is super good. I recently moved to Fairfield and needed to find a good spot for Chinese takeout out. So, I tried joy wok. I ordered sesame chicken combo and the Mongolian beef. They were both super good. I don’t normally like my sesame chicken a little spicy and they made it just right for me.
The customer service is also great. I had accidentally ordered white rice with the Mongolian beef and when I picked up my order they switched it to fried rice right away with no extra charge. Everyone there is super nice. Definitely recommend if you are in the area in search of a good Chinese spot.“
