“I have not dined in yet, because I like to eat at home, so I can say these dumplings and buns travel very well. I love the pork and scallion dumplings, and the noodle dishes are so refreshing. I can't help but order tanghulu every time as well for a sweet refreshing crunchy dessert, and every drink I've had has been so good! Love the fruity teas, herbals teas, and creamy drinks. Every drink I've had tasted very good and I wish I ordered 2 at a time. I hope they stay forever and their business is good, I'm very happy with this neighborhood dumpling spot“

“Fairlawn's Hunan Wok is a fantastic restaurant. I've been going there for approximately 15 years, and I still really like the meal. Although their cuisine isn't as greasy as that of some Chinese restaurants, I would argue that their pricing are a little expensive! Anyone in the neighborhood searching for delicious Cantonese cuisine should definitely check it out, in my opinion. The proprietors are welcoming and will always make you feel welcome.“

“One of the best Japanese and Chinese restaurants you find out there. This place is just as good as I remember it. Ive been coming here for YEARS(ever since I was a kid)and i went earlier today and the experience i had was great! the food came fast and i ordered some sushi rolls and a miso soup and my mom got the Garden salad and a Miso soup and 2 sushi rolls. Waiter was super nice and i was a little sad to see the resturant so empty with such good food! ever since the Green Dragon fire incident, Empire Hunan is the only chinese AND japanese cuisine in fair lawn, and honestly one of the best in the whole Tri state area. 100% reccommend coming here and my mom is gluten free strictly, and they had good options for her like gluten free soy sauce, no crunchies in the sushi(if you ask)and also gave me a free appetizer(im not gluten free). Overall, this place deserves a 5 star and Empire Hunan probably can compete with Poke Express, which is a 4.9 star rating, if even better food and a wayyyy better dining expierence(Sorry Gina). Anyways to wrap it up if you ever want a place to spend time with family, eat out, or hang out with freinds this is a great place to do so!!!!“

“Really delicious sushi and Chinese food. The sushi is not omakase but tasty for the price and variety. I order off the diet menu regularly, shrimp and broccoli and fried dumplings. Best ginger sauce ever for dipping items off the diet menu. I skip the dumpling sauce and use the ginger sauce for everything lol. Wonton soup is also delicious. They are always so nice and happy when I arrive to pick up my order. One day I ordered delivery and within 30 minutes the order was at my door. This is my go to spot when I have friends and family over looking to order Chinese food. I tried other places near Broadway and nothing has compared.“

Not crispy as from can see in pic. Was this really beef also? Walnuts were plain as well.Steamed Spinach Dumplings were a bit dry . “Visited New Jersey for the weekend, and this was one of the top restaurant recommendations from locals. It absolutely lived up to the hype.

Everything we ordered was delicious, but one of my favorites—unfortunately I forgot to take a picture—was the mixed vegetables. They tasted incredibly fresh with a subtle balance of sweetness and tangy citrus. It was the perfect palate cleanser and made me want to keep eating more skewers 😆

Insanely enough, we’ve even tried the Italian (yes, I said Italian) food on the menu and that was pretty good as well! It’s a crazy combo, but it works. Their hot and sour soup, is def one of the better ones I’ve had. All the their dishes are loaded with ingredients. The portions are not skimpy, prices are very reasonable for what you get. “We are seriously SO impressed with Essex Chinese Kitchen. The food is amazing — everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and high quality. And on top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the portions you get.

We ordered the bubble teas (brown sugar milk tea and original milk tea), and they were SO good — perfectly balanced with that floral black tea flavor coming through. Not overly sweet, just smooth and refreshing.

I got the golden fried brown shrimp with fried rice and it was FIRE. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli, and they absolutely do NOT skimp on portions. The serving sizes were generous and so satisfying.

The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

They were very pleasant and friendly on the phone when I called to place the order. The owner immediately recognized my husband once we arrived and was very welcoming. They have wonderful customer service, always pleasant when I call, speedy delivery, and quality food (and packaging) There is no other chinese food in bergen country i’ve found that I can say has all of these qualities about them. Tonight I ordered sweet and sour chicken with chicken lo mein. The lo mein is so good I would give it a 9/10. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite. 10/10.
