“Tin's House is extremely affordable for lunch. Their lunch combos include half entre, half side with a choice of drink, eggroll or soup, all for only $10-12! I usually use their delivery service, they are very quick and the food gets here nice & hot!“

“I have to say, some of the reviews on this establishment is bordering on satire. Recently went here and found the food to be fantastic! The mango chicken was absolutely delicious as was the bourbon chicken and the spicy chicken. Do yourself a favor and actually look at the complaints about this place before you make a decision. I’ll cut you a break and give you an example or two about the complaints. One complaint was about the use of paper bag oppose to plastic bags and another was the color of the food, the color! I mean I understand complaints about the quality of the food but when the complaints have nothing to do with the quality then I can’t and won’t take it seriously. People seriously need to stop crying and complaining about the silliest of things. Enjoy this place, I know me and my wife did!“

“I stopped in here yesterday for lunch and it was without a doubt top 5 foods I’ve ever eaten, both inside and outside the U.S. The malatang hot pot broth was so savory and umami I couldn’t believe how good it was. “super yummy! pork wonton soup was filling and soo yummy, the epitome of umami. and the beef noodle soup was great, just wish i opted for different noodles. some noodle soups are a bit pricey, but if im ever super hungry i can grab the pork wontons. my new go-to spot!“

“Parking comps for upstairs for 3hrs. The sauce bar is good, the snacks are interesting and the pots can be 1,2, or 3 styles of soup base. Good pricing and only issue is seating is for 4 or 6; one table of 8 available. So big parties may need to split up a bit. Definitely a fan of the snacks, good service, and they gave a little toy to the kids, too!

Broth has gotten better in 2026, but service a bit less and they are less busy. They had to add an all-you-can-eat option on M-Thu (Fri before 5p) and while that is good, overall they are struggling a bit to keep the same foot traffic as before. A bit of a bummer as they do have a good selection and are convenient.“

“Best chinese takeout around!Been coming here since I was a little kid (over 25 years). Food is good, portions are big. Your beef or chicken with broccoli actually comes with sizable amounts of beef/chicken. Other places just load up on broccoli to keep their profits. You can't go wrong!“

“Visited New Jersey for the weekend, and this was one of the top restaurant recommendations from locals. It absolutely lived up to the hype.

Everything we ordered was delicious, but one of my favorites—unfortunately I forgot to take a picture—was the mixed vegetables. They tasted incredibly fresh with a subtle balance of sweetness and tangy citrus. It was the perfect palate cleanser and made me want to keep eating more skewers 😆

Insanely enough, we’ve even tried the Italian (yes, I said Italian) food on the menu and that was pretty good as well! It’s a crazy combo, but it works. Their hot and sour soup, is def one of the better ones I’ve had. All the their dishes are loaded with ingredients. The portions are not skimpy, prices are very reasonable for what you get. All ready when they tell you it will be, and given to you without any “attitude”. Give them a try….i doubt you’ll be disappointed.“

They were very pleasant and friendly on the phone when I called to place the order. The owner immediately recognized my husband once we arrived and was very welcoming. “We are seriously SO impressed with Essex Chinese Kitchen. The food is amazing — everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and high quality. And on top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the portions you get.

We ordered the bubble teas (brown sugar milk tea and original milk tea), and they were SO good — perfectly balanced with that floral black tea flavor coming through. Not overly sweet, just smooth and refreshing.

I got the golden fried brown shrimp with fried rice and it was FIRE. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli, and they absolutely do NOT skimp on portions. The serving sizes were generous and so satisfying.

The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

I stopped eating just to write how much I love this spot. I order almost once a week. The food never disappoints and I believe they truly deserve 5 stars. They have wonderful customer service, always pleasant when I call, speedy delivery, and quality food (and packaging) There is no other chinese food in bergen country i’ve found that I can say has all of these qualities about them. Tonight I ordered sweet and sour chicken with chicken lo mein. The lo mein is so good I would give it a 9/10. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite. 10/10.
