“I’ve lived in NM for 5 years and this has been my go-to place. Their food is great, their prices are fantastic and affordable. I’ve seen her kids grown up to be great humans. Their delivery man is nice and friendly and they never take long to drop off the food.
I recommend take out and if you don’t wanna tip. People fail to understand that cultural differences exist and complain about their “attitude and service”, but I can ensure you they’re all super nice and working at a fast-paced restaurant doesn’t allow them time to chitchat. “Parking comps for upstairs for 3hrs. The sauce bar is good, the snacks are interesting and the pots can be 1,2, or 3 styles of soup base. Good pricing and only issue is seating is for 4 or 6; one table of 8 available. So big parties may need to split up a bit. Definitely a fan of the snacks, good service, and they gave a little toy to the kids, too!

Broth has gotten better in 2026, but service a bit less and they are less busy. They had to add an all-you-can-eat option on M-Thu (Fri before 5p) and while that is good, overall they are struggling a bit to keep the same foot traffic as before. A bit of a bummer as they do have a good selection and are convenient.“

I’ve had the steak with tostones, their chicharrón de pollo & many other delectable dishes. They also have a nice bar & make excellent Pisco sours which I can’t find in too many places! I live in Rockland County & the hubby & I take the trip about monthly just to eat here! Nothing fancy about the restaurant but definitely good eats! Highly recommend! “We are seriously SO impressed with Essex Chinese Kitchen. The food is amazing — everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and high quality. And on top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the portions you get.

We ordered the bubble teas (brown sugar milk tea and original milk tea), and they were SO good — perfectly balanced with that floral black tea flavor coming through. Not overly sweet, just smooth and refreshing.

I got the golden fried brown shrimp with fried rice and it was FIRE. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli, and they absolutely do NOT skimp on portions. The serving sizes were generous and so satisfying.

The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

I did the AYCE lunch dine-in and left with basically enough food that I was full until the next day. Selection is broad enough for the price, and this includes fountain soda and ice cream as well.

Note you can also do a takeout buffet box, which it seems a lot of customers do.

I particularly enjoyed the freshly fried chicken, salt pepper shrimp, barbecue (char siu style) chicken thighs, fried crab, bbq rib tips, fried fish, string beans, and avocado salad. They have an amazing chilli paste sauce that really elevated the meal for me as a spice lover.“
