“This place is a gem! My husband has been coming here since he’s been a kid. We were in the area and decided to stop in and eat. They were very pleasant and friendly on the phone when I called to place the order. The owner immediately recognized my husband once we arrived and was very welcoming. The place was very clean and the food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be coming back here when we are in the area. Very happy this place hasn’t lost its touch over the years.“

“A calm and pleasant spot for lunch.

I came during the afternoon and the place was quiet.
The staff was very friendly and even asked how the meal was at the end.
Note: It’s self-service.

Food: The hand-pulled noodles and broth were fresh and excellent.
The fried side dish was crispy and flavorful.
Drink: The iced black tea with mango was light and very refreshing.
Tip: As you can see in the video - the portions are very generous.
I recommend ordering a small size because I couldn’t finish it.

Seating: I sat by the window facing the street. It was nice to eat and watch Broadway at the same time.
There’s also an inner bar table closer to the kitchen.
The place is clean and the surrounding area feels calm and safe.

Price: Very affordable and filling.
This was my first time trying authentic Chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend and worth saving for a real local meal.“

“The fish was tender and flavorful, and the green pepper sauce had a nice kick without being overwhelming. The Mao Xue Wang was also tasty and had plenty of ingredients. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving Sichuan-style fish and spicy dishes. Would definitely come back!“

“We were staying at the Tarrytown house estate and decided to visit Goosefeather for dinner, not having any idea about the restaurant other than that it was located on-site. As Chinese-style martial artists, we were pleasantly surprised to see the Cantonese -fusion menu options as we walked in. Unfortunately, we did not have reservations, but we were able to sit at the bar. What an auspicious turn of luck! The bar offers not only the full menu, but the chance to watch professionals at their craft. We were taken care of by Mariana and Sara, who were busy yet still highly attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the menu, and explained everything even before our questions had a habce to leave our lips. We started with some standard drinks (a spicy martini, and one of their mocktails with Ron Zacapa rum added in). Solid pours, balancing the flavors of the drinks with adequate alcohol to keep things fun). Next week ordered the spicy rice cakes and the potstickers. Each was perfectly done. The potstickers were crispy but not burnt, and paired with a just-right spicy Chinese mustard. There were four per serving, which served to whet out appetites while leaving us waiting for more. Next, we got the spicy rice cakes. These were just hot enough to let the tongue know, but the spice built pleasantly. The plate was pretty big, and the two of us had more than one or two helpings each. Finally, we had the Crying Tiger Tuna. The lightly seared and seasoned tuna was paired with avocado salad, pickled gooseberries, and sweet goji berries. Delicious! To cap it off, we switched up our drinks for two of their signature cocktails. Sweet emotion is a pumpkin espresso martini with a smoky bubble of deliciousness in top. Love in an Elevator is a wild rum ride of flavors I'd never think to blend, such as apricot, chocolate, and lemon. Overall, while pricey, the experience, the food, and the atmosphere made it worth it! As a bonus, we were watched over by a really cool portrait of Bruce Lee!“

“I'm celiac so we asked about gluten free options when ordering. The staff were very helpful and the chef was able to replace the regular soy sauce with gluten free spicy soy sauce in many of the dishes. So we were able to order most of what we wanted from the menu. I'm writing this the next day and I feel fine. 10/10 service! The food was delicious! Will definitely be back.“

“I stopped in here yesterday for lunch and it was without a doubt top 5 foods I’ve ever eaten, both inside and outside the U.S. The malatang hot pot broth was so savory and umami I couldn’t believe how good it was. “Went to Moon Kee This past Friday. (8/21/26) I had the Garlic Shrimp and Scallops, Shrimp Rice Roll and some dumplings. The food was prepared well; and the portion sizes were generous. Flavor was decent.

My partner and I arrived at 9:40PM. When they say they close at 10:00PM, they really mean they close at 10. The service definitely suffered based on that and the food probably does too, considering that we were told it was too late to order certain items. If you want to eat there, I suggest getting there earlier, and you'll likely have a better experience than I did. I definitely plan to try them again at an earlier hour because I feel like it may be better than what I had.“

Insanely enough, we’ve even tried the Italian (yes, I said Italian) food on the menu and that was pretty good as well! It’s a crazy combo, but it works. “Visited New Jersey for the weekend, and this was one of the top restaurant recommendations from locals. It absolutely lived up to the hype.

Everything we ordered was delicious, but one of my favorites—unfortunately I forgot to take a picture—was the mixed vegetables. They tasted incredibly fresh with a subtle balance of sweetness and tangy citrus. It was the perfect palate cleanser and made me want to keep eating more skewers 😆

“First time trying Red Star in Harlem, and I’m glad I stopped in. I was hungry, happened to be in the area, and decided to give them a shot. I ordered the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice and a large homemade iced tea, and the whole thing was only $13.

When they gave me my food, I felt like I was back in 2003 😂. They actually gave you a real portion! Plenty of pork fried rice and a good amount of boneless spare ribs. The food had that old-school NYC Chinese takeout vibe that’s getting harder and harder to find.

The ribs were delicious, especially that BBQ sauce, the pork fried rice was on point, and the homemade iced tea brought everything together. For $13, the amount of food I got and how good everything tasted made it even better.

No complaints at all. Great food, great portions, great price. I would definitely come back again!“

I’ve had the steak with tostones, their chicharrón de pollo & many other delectable dishes. They also have a nice bar & make excellent Pisco sours which I can’t find in too many places! I did the AYCE lunch dine-in and left with basically enough food that I was full until the next day. Selection is broad enough for the price, and this includes fountain soda and ice cream as well.

Note you can also do a takeout buffet box, which it seems a lot of customers do.

I particularly enjoyed the freshly fried chicken, salt pepper shrimp, barbecue (char siu style) chicken thighs, fried crab, bbq rib tips, fried fish, string beans, and avocado salad. They have an amazing chilli paste sauce that really elevated the meal for me as a spice lover.“

No lumpy gelatinous "gravy" although I always make it a point to ask for little gravy and they actually followed my request! I don't ever judge a Chinese restaurant by its decor. Some of the BEST ethnic foods I've had, we less than inviting. I get why they do not bother w the "atmosphere" but focused on good food. I get that it would be nice to be able to enjoy going there if you are a long time patron but I used to love a place called Peking Duck in Chinatown until they moved to a new space and changed to an upscale look and soon the food was not at all the same. Perhaps the chef left but I still missed the dishes they used to make to perfection. So don't fix what's not broken.
