“Great Indian veg food!! Especially good is the chole batura but everything is really nice. It can be a bit of a wait but you cannot beat the food. Also the service is excellent. I have been many times and have often had kiyas as a waiter and he is great and so friendly and helpful and keeps me coming back again and again!!!“

“We had Churmuri bhel, jaipuri pyaaz kachori, Bhatti Paneer Sizzler, Sev puri Dahi puri, chole bhature. Everything was flavorful yet not spicy with decent portion size. Masala chaas was little salty to my taste, aam panah was refreshing and mango lassi was good. The best part is that all these coolers are served in kulhad, which imparts distinct flavor and experience. It is absolutely worth it.

We were totally floored by the exquisite food - and service - provided by Chef and Owner Mr. Jebu Matthew and his team. “On an recommendation from one of my known friend, ordered the food for an major event and it was very good among which Live Tandoor station was a big hit where guests enjoyed different varieties of Non-Veg and Veg kebabs made of authentic home made spices I believe with a smoky flavor which gave an extra add-on to the starters.
To the whole I say that, the event was 100% successful and all my friends and other guests loved the food A - Z which Shimla management provided with entrees, main course and desserts etc.
So, I truly recommend this to other people when asks and hope this Shimla catering services continues the same ambience and hospitality and would always be going to be my straight to go place for all my future events.

“We visited this place a few times and always had a great experience with food. The food here is delicious with some amazing Indian flavors.
Last night we ordered Afghani Chicken Kebab, Telangana Mutton Curry with Garlic Naan , Gougnra Chicken Biryani and finally ended with Gajar Ka Halwa. To start off the Afghani Chicken Kebab was well cooked which made the chicken cubes juicy and delicious. The kebab was sizzling hot from the tandoor with slices of shredded veggies cabbage, carrot , capsicum &
onions. The veggies as well tasted delicious by the charred flavor along with the sauces of the dish.
The entree Telangana mutton curry and garlic naan were probably not one of the bests I had. I was expecting the Telangana curry to be more authentic with more bold spicy masala flavors in contrast to what we had tasted more on the sweet side ,which tasted more like a butter masala
or tikka currys with the creamy texture which still had some spicy tinge to it. The mutton was well cooked and the curry overall was good but not the best. The garlic naan was okay as well, as I had better naan’s in other Indian places.
The Goungura Chicken Biryani is the clear winner of all the dishes we had at Godavari so far. Usually when I have tried the gongura biryani in different Indian restaurants it always lacked in the gongura flavor. But the one at Godavari was really super deliciuous and it was bursting in gongura flavor which I have been longing forever. The biryani had the sourness of the gongura along with the perfect biryani spices and well cooked chicken pieces. Just a suggestion, It would have been even great if they have served the biryani with boiled egg.
Gajar ka Halwa is a perfect ending to the whole meal. The halwa was not too sweet , it was rich in taste with ghee, milk , carrot , sugar and some nuts.
The reason I am rating this place 5/5 even though after not all the dishes being 5/5 is just that the biryani was something that we have throughly enjoyed and hope this place keeps the quality and taste of the food.“

“The name of this restaurant certainly brings back fond memories of Southern Indian “mess” concept with seriously good food. Did the name do justice? Let’s see. We catered two dishes from here for a summer party: Kadai Paneer and Paneer Biriyani. This is how I’d rate:
Quantity: 10/10 (Lot of paneer in Biriyani as well as the kadai paneer)
Quality: 9/10 (paneer pieces were soft in both biryani as well as the kadai paneer)
Flavor: 9/10 (The kadai paneer was a little on the spicy side for the weak hearted, but bursting with flavors of spices and browned onions. The paneer in biryani was fragrant with whole spices which shows they marinated it overnight. The Biriyani rice was also fragrant with real whole spices. Only thing, it would be even nicer if the rice was of slightly better basmati variety but that’s hard to achieve here in USA)
Cost: 10/10 considering the quantity and quality, the price was on point.

Recently, I also tried their tri-color paneer which was very flavorful and their vadas and paniyaram were simply mind-blowing!! Keep in mind, they are a small business so like any other restaurant, if there are too many bulk orders they might be a little late in serving you…and that just shows they’re the real deal with authentic Tamil food :)“

“This is hands down the best South Indian restaurant we've ever visited. The nalli gosht biryani was worth the two-hour drive, with perfectly spiced, tender meat. The crispy corn was delightfully crunchy, and each dish was served in generous portions. The flavors were spot-on, making it an outstanding dining experience. Highly recommended!

“This establishment has a very plain exterior and interior appearance. Its menu has a wide variety of options with even their own specialized signature dishes. We ordered dishes from the children's menu as well as basic dosas and appetizers. When it comes to the quality of the food served, some dishes were significantly better than others. One of the appetizers we ordered had essentially no flavor, spice, or even basic seasoning. Due to this we spoke with the management and they promptly replaced the dish with another from the menu. The new appetizer was significantly better, flavorful, and well seasoned. Quantities were also decent.

What we did not like is their timeliness. Service and recognition of customers took too long. Food service took too long. This area either had staffing shortages or mismanagement of how to handle incoming customers. Despite this, staff was very courteous throughout.

Overall a mid tier experience with better than average dishes.“
