“I’ve been looking for a Neapolitan pizza place for a bit and I just happened to see one in my own neighborhood! The pizza was incredible. “My son has food allergies and as soon as we started inquiring about ingredients, the associate called for their designated allergy handler. Before we even got into his specific allergies, she wiped down the prep area, changed her gloves and showed us their allergy binder. She prepped everything right in front of us and chose ingredients from under the counter as to avoid cross contamination. Bravo, Jiya! When casually talking with the owner, he mentioned having friends with food allergies so he definitely understood the severity of being diligent with prep. “If you are looking for GOOD NY style pizza, you need to try Nonno's. There are many pizzerias in the Clifton / Nutley area, but in my opinion the pizza here is one of the best I have had. Sauce is favourable. Cheese is good quality unlike some places where they fall off the moment you pick up the slice. Service is super friendly and accommodating. It's a small place with a feeling of a neighbourhood-go-to pizzeria“

“First time visiting this gem after roaming the area for a good slice. I had them heat up a cheese, famous Giuseppe, and pepperoni slices. All were extremely delicious, thin, and crispy. Just the way I like it. I’m not quite sure what the crust from their special pies are but I LOVE it. The undercarriage is like a thin focaccia style bread. I sat down on the patio as well which kept me nice and cool throughout the experience. Oh and I got a complimentary drink for dining in!

Most importantly, Mr Jack Calandra served me (and my dog with two slices of raw pepperoni) and he was nothing but amazing to say the least. We got to chat a bit and he gave me quick story of how this spot and its specials pies.

“Went for dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, devoting just the right amount of time to us. We ordered cesear salad to start, seafood fra diavolo, and the butternut squash ravioli with broccoli rabe and shallots in brown butter. The salad was crisp and dressed nicely, with shaved Parmesan and croutons. But the highlight was the seafood fra diavolo. The seafood was so fresh, plentiful, and the heat was just right. The platter was full of seafood and all of it was delicious. The butternut squash ravioli was stuffed full of puree and simply melted in your mouth. The broccoli rabe was somewhat bitter, but the shallot and brown butter sauce balanced it out. Both entrees were a nice portion size. We ordered pizzepoles for dessert which came with Nutella and raspberry dipping sauce. They came in the traditional brown paper bag for shaking to distribute the powdered sugar and they were hot and fresh. The atmosphere is upbeat with plenty of seating in comfortable chairs or bench seating. Lighting is good and music is not too loud. We were pleasantly surprised by our bill at the end despite having waited a little longer for the check than we liked, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back to try some of the delicious pizzas we saw come out of the oven. We ordered a supreme Sicilian pie, which had pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives, and anchovies. They'll ask if you want anchovies included, which is nice since it's not for everyone. I happen to like anchovies so I appreciated that this was included because not many places do. I liked the crust - it had the perfect amount of crispiness and bite to it. Pies are on the pricier side - this one was $30, but they don't skimp on the toppings. Would definitely order again next time I'm in the mood for a Sicilian slice.“

“My husband and I was craving some good authentic pizza and let me just say this place DID NOT disappoint. The owner and everyone that worked there was super nice which made me love it even more. I wanted my husband who’s from Baltimore to try zeppole, he’s never heard of it and for me, growing up in Bk and Staten Island it was one of my childhood favs. They didn’t have any made when I asked about it which was fine but while I was in conversation with their delivery driver the owner came out with some. He actually went out of his way to make me some zeppole, and it was delicious and extremely nostalgic for me. He has no idea how that made my day and brought back so many memories to me. Their food is delicious, atmosphere warm and friendly. I recommend this place and we will be back.“

“I was driving from Boston to DC and was looking for a pizza/Italian place outside NYC. My son found this simply googling for such a place while I was driving. Stumbled on Amadeo and glad I did. We had their classic margarita pizza and loved it. The crust was firm but not too crunchy and the sauce was unique and delicious. They told me it is homemade and a family recipe. Really liked it! Even had some delicious pumpkin cheesecake on the road.“

The restaurant decor is simple but comfortable with a great hosts. We never felt cramped. The boys enjoyed a chicken pizza half garlic and half bbq drizzle and my wife and I enjoyed a fungi white pizza that was out of this world. I continue to say this, if g-d had given Jersey the water, their pizza would be king.“
