“I was hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail, and some other hikers told me of this place. I was so hungry and when I got there the food smells were so good, I had to stop. I had my dog with me but the owner had no problems with me tying the dog out back where there are picnic tables while I ordered. The owner loves dogs and is very friendly to both the dog and I. The food was delicious and the portions so large that I was full before I even finished my lunch. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants good service, good food and a caring restaurant owner. Thanks Mo and crew!”

“My wife and I had a wonderful experience while perusing the shop. I particularly love the fact that nothing there is made in China or Russia due to their abysmal human rights records. That. Matters. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere cozy (and the books!). Oh yeah, the coffee was outstanding too! Highly recommend!”

“Was in the Newton area so I stopped to have some breakfast, a friend of mine recommended the Hampton diner so I went in to check it out.
Upon entering there was a beautiful Christmas tree.
Nice and spacious. Pleasant staff.
I had toasted bagel with Lox. Very good I should say the way the plate was decorated looked very appealing.

“My wife and I went out and had dinner there with our Daughter and her boyfriend. Two of the four orders were completely wrong. They said it would be a long wait to bring out the correct orders so we kept the two wrong orders. My wife and our Daughters boyfriend were not crazy over the burgers they ate due to being not what was ordered and did not like the sauce on the burgers they were given. They ate about half. They took one of the bill. The place is nice, the food I thought was good. Would go back again and hope to get a the correct food order this time. There is a wait to get your food but that means they are making it fresh. Nice addition to the town.”

“I have been here many times and love the atmosphere and have been coming here regularly for their wing night. Tonight they failed. I ordered a dozen wings and sat down with friends that were not eating. My ticket time seemed to be taking a while so I started paying attention to other orders. Dozens had been served that ordered after me. After 45 minutes I approached the bar to ask for a refund. A person was requested from the kitchen to help me. I asked for a refund for the food I hadn't received. She questioned if I had received anything at all. I told her no as the wings were all I had ordered. I showed her my receipt and pointed to the table I was sitting at. She glanced over to it and voided the transaction. I felt as if I wasn't believed that my order really did not come out. The order was all of $4 and some change, even if the wings came out raw I would have just not eaten them and left. I would not have asked for a refund but not serving anything at all I believe a refund is just. I really do like this place but dont like the feeling of not being believed. I did not receive an apology either which would have been proper.”

“FATHERS DAY Arrived early and sat at the bar. Every single worker no matter how fast they were breezing by smiled and said hello. Our group of 10 arrived and was seated immediately. “We went for lunch mostly because we were in the area and the lakeside location looked good. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food --the calamari was excellent,absolutely fresh and very lightly fried. The pierogies were amazing; we also had a salad and the apple strudel -- both highly recommended. The ales were cool and just what we needed after a hot afternoon of hiking. The place has outdoor seating that overlooks the lake, and the indoor area is spacious and has a glass front. The service was friendly but it is the food that stood out the most. We will be back to try the schnitzels.”

“This place is so charming and the food is incredible!!! We sat outside and enjoyed pancakes with berries and the special sweet potato bowl with spinach, mushrooms and pulled pork. They also have espresso drinks and my cappuccino was served with a sprinkle of cinnamon, a lovely touch. This is a wonderful spot for breakfast or lunch”
