While it looked packed they were able to seat us the bar within 2-3 minutes of coming in, coffees served quick and the food was out in no more than 10 minutes. My husband and I stumbled across this small grill diner hidden in the cut — and what a find! We stopped in for brunch and everything was spot on. He had the shrimp and grits, and I went with the meat lovers with egg whites. Both dishes were so good — seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. What makes this place unique is that it’s not your typical all-American brunch, which for me can sometimes be on the bland side. Here, you’re getting a true Dominican-American breakfast and brunch experience — sazon, flavor, and soul in every bite. If you enjoy savoring your food, this is a match made in heaven.

Their mangú is smooth, creamy, and comforting — not the stiff, heavy version you often get elsewhere. I ordered the tres golpe and my girlfriend had the dos golpe with pechurrinas (Dominican chicken tenders). The chicken was crisp to perfection, seasoned beautifully, and mixing it with the mangú is next-level. To finish, I ordered a papaya milkshake that was amazing — rich, refreshing, and the perfect balance.

The flavor here is what sets them apart. If you’re Latino, or if you just love food with seasoning and depth, this is the spot. Too many brunch places in the city are bland — here, every bite has sabor.

On top of that, the service is excellent. Our server Jeanette was attentive, funny, and welcoming — exactly the kind of energy you want when you’re hungry.

And let’s talk about price. In 2025, when everything feels overpriced, this spot is a blessing. Most dishes are $5–$10, nothing over $25, and the quality is unmatched even compared to restaurants charging triple. You get your money’s worth every time.

The only downside is they’re not open for dinner — but for breakfast and brunch, Cafeteria Brooklyn is unbeatable. If you want food that’s flavorful, affordable, and satisfying, this is where you need to be. I’ll definitely be back.“

“I come here when I need work done on my car, since my mechanic is a few blocks away , unfortunately it has been too often. Coming to Breakhouse puts some good vibes Into the trip. I get here early, I love their breakfast selections. The coffee is good but cappuccino is even better. They have a very clean and comfortable bathroom. If I lived closer, I'd be here very often. It’s the cutest place in the area by far: excellent food, friendly, prompt service. I have never had a problem- 100% lovely experiences. Just double check the hours as weekday hours are slightly different. Definitely a must try!
