“For my wife she thinks this is the best tuna ever. She has traveled much of the world and this country and she still holds tastee’s tuna at number 1. I am a turkey guy or the buffalo chicken. Always outstanding perfect balance of toppings and condiments (sometimes could lay off the mayo haha).

We just moved out of NJ and can’t stop thinking of this place.

“Gave a 5 for the atmosphere although I haven’t been there. I imagine it’s top notch based off of the customer service experience I had with a young gentleman on the phone today. I made an Uber Eats order and called to make an adjustment to my sandwiches. The young man on the phone was professional and did not hesitate to make sure that my accommodations would be granted. I wish I caught his name but the call took place at approximately 3:36PM on 1OCT25. He was exactly what I expect when calling an eatery. Prompt, direct, and accommodating. No questions asked, no back and forth. As someone who works in the industry it was greatly appreciated.“

I tried the 6 inch veggie sandwich. It came fully loaded with fresh veggies and special sauces. Each bite was filled with surprising flavours.
I highly recommend these sandwiches sealed with freshness!

“If you want a great, "old school" alternative to Tastees, this is the spot! I don't think they've changed the menu board since the 80s, maybe earlier. Handmade with care and attention to detail, the sandwiches are delicious and fresh. There are very few healthy beverage options, but Bai water is one and a good selection of flavors available. Friendly service and vintage interior decor make this sandwich shop a great stop along Woodbridge Avenue. Pictured is the tuna with pickles on the side.“

“Tucked in a corner of Walmart, the space is adequate for a good 20 min meal. Friendly staff. Usually has veggie patties and vegetarian options.

“I went to Just Subs to place an order for a gathering involving a large number of people. I had reviewed the menu and had come up with a figure of $300.00, which by my calculations would provide enough subs, salads and sides for all involved. Probably with some left over. Joe the owner and his employee Desire questioned me about the number of people I wished to serve, and at that point told me that I was ordering too much food! Upon Joe's advice, I ordered a menu which came to a final total of $215.00! Everything was delicious, and there was some left over, just as Joe supposed there would be. It was a nice, professional gesture on his part, and a good way to treat a customer.“

Only problem I had they need to put some meat on it almost a make a wish sandwich. But the next trip I got a chicken cheese steak that definitely redeemed them. I liked the cream soda I give that and the root beer 5 stars.“

“I came in on Saturday for a quick meal and was completely satisfied with everything. The girl working there was attentive to my requests and made the sandwich just how I wanted. The atmosphere was clean and the chips were stocked and also had a good variety of drinks to choose from. Will definitely be going back, and hopefully be seeing the same girl working there again!“

“This was my first time trying this location and it wasn't a bad experience. Although I did enjoy my good, there were a few small errors that won't allow me to go above 4 stars. I specifically asked for the sauce on the cheese fries to be on the side. However the cheese was on top and it was a bit messier than I would've liked. This wasn't a deal breaker since the fries were soggy and still had a good amount of cheese. However she they were unnecessarily messy.
Similarly with the sandwich. The flavor was there. The roll was soft. Lettuce was crisp, as was the tomato juicy.
Buuuut, the sandwich wasn't evenly sliced. Almost as if they started to cut it and then stopped. Which made a port fall out when I picked it up. So, although minor errors, they were big enough to affect how much I enjoyed the meal.
Will I return? I would say Yes!!“

“I don’t know the employees name, but occasionally I run in with a last minute craving on my way to work @8:30pm. I know it’s towards the end of the night, but she is still always so pleasant and my food always made perfect and quickly. Tonight’s turkey sandwich was no exception. Too many times people just complain or take good service for granted, and I’d love to see see them get the recognition deserved. Some of us do appreciate it, especially when we’re running to work. “I have finally had a sub from a SUBWAY® that is worth 4 stars. It is The Monster with double meat and whatever toppings you prefer. I went with Garlic Aoli, Red Wine Vinegar, Lettuce, Tomato, Spinach, Black Olive, Jalapeño, Banana Peppers, Black Pepper and Oregano. Not toasted. The question is, is it worth $17? Nah. I honestly cannot tell the difference between their presliced meat to their newly sliced fresh meat. For chains, Jersey Mike’s is much higher quality for $1 - $2 more. Jersey Mike’s is actually less expensive had I went to the Avenel Subway location. The same sub there was $20! If you are in Central/North Central NJ, do yourself a favor and just go to Tastee Subs in Metuchen.
