“One of the best places I’ve eaten food from! This place is serious about making their Peruvian food the best in West New York. I’ve eaten Peruvian food in a couple places since my mom is Peruvian, and when we tried this place, we loved it immediately and knew that we would come back here to eat food from here. Great job in doing a good business like this!“

No line when I went around 9am and service was fast and efficient. No chitchat but I wasn't there for small talk ? After I recieved my order, I took a few steps back and just dug in! Yum! Great cheap eats in NYC! ?“

“These guys are the best halal cart I’ve had in the city. You know it’s good when there are a few carts within blocks, but these guys get lines in front of theirs daily. The locals know it’s worth the short wait. They are very pleasant happy people as well!“

“Excellent Singaporean restaurant inside Urban Hawker. I got the chicken cutlet curry rice and it was fantastic; highly recommend. I also tried the lychee drink, and while it was good, it was not carbonated and I really feel it would benefit from being so.“

“Woohoo this was awesome! After wandering around all the stalls I settled on the #5, the noodle with pork ribs, and it was so good. It came with some prawn broth (I think) and a huge plate of hot noodles mixed with veggies and tofu, and two nice pork ribs. The pork ribs were topped with a creamy sauce and red roe, and were super juicy. Everything was delicious!“

“My partner has been talking about the Dosa man in NYC for a longggg time! We finally made a trip to NY and NY Dosas was our first stop. Waited in line for an hour and honestly it was so worth it. It was a beautiful sunny day in Washington square park when we went so it made waiting more enjoyable. Plenty of places to sit on the benches of the park. Make sure to ask for extra napkins because it can get a little messy. Sambar and coconut chutney are great! Any time I come back to NYC I'll be visiting the Dosa Man! ❤️🪷 Updated from previous review on 2025-04-22“
“Great dou hua/do fu fa for a great price ($3 for a large) If you want extra syrup, it's extra 25 cents. I also get the mochi stuffed with red bean or peanut, about 7 pieces for $6. You used to get 8 pieces for $6 but inflation happened. I've always wanted to try the soymilk and the fresh rice noodles. Next time, for sure. The listing says she's there until 630pm but once she sells out, she leaves, so dont expect her to be there at 6pm. I'd suggest getting there in the morning or Early afternoon if you want to be able to try everything.“

“Easily the best Halal Food Truck in the area. The person running the truck (possibly the owner) is the nicest man around! Friendly, conversational, caring and genuine. I love when his truck is outside my work, makes my day, even if I just get to pass by and say hi!
10/10 highly recommend!“

“If you are like me and have not had delicious barbecue for a long time, you will probably find it quite good. It feels like a Cantonese barbecue flavor. The pork is a salty barbecued pork, and the king of kings is also a little salty. Others I ordered include beef, mutton, gluten, and chicken hearts, which were both good! I love charcoal grilling + fresh grilling. Remember to bring cash!“

“My visit to ToastieLand at Smorgasburg was a delightful culinary journey. The Mac and Cheese Toastie stood out with its creamy, savory flavors, perfectly complemented by the garlic, buttery bread. Service was impeccable, providing an enjoyable and efficient experience. The Lav Vanilla Lemonade was a refreshing finale to the rich, cheesy indulgence. ToastieLand is a gastronomic gem that's not to be missed, available at Williamsburg on Saturdays and Prospect Park on Sundays.“

“Distinguished service...clean food, high quality of everything. The food places are wonderful and distinct, and each of the services is preventive and packaged in serving the food. Masks and gloves are changed with every order. This means prevention, washing hands and drying them very much.“

“If you’re a tourist hunting for a quick, affordable halal meal, look no further—this place has you covered. The $12 gyro platter is hands down one of the best deals you’ll find. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the rice is perfectly cooked, and the salads and sauces just tie it all together in the best way possible. It’s filling, tasty, and easy on the wallet.
Locals, you’re seriously lucky to have this spot in your neighborhood. Everything on the platter is fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell they put care into making sure each part of the meal hits just right. Whether you're a visitor or a regular, this is the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to.“
“All the vendors are so helpful and proud of their products. It's really wonderful to see.“

“As i am eating these rice noodles, can’t express how lucky i feel finding this cart. Was looking for a close by and quick to go breakfast. The rice noodles are super smooth. Lady selling is the very down to earth kind, honest and no non-sense. I bought a large size noodle with fish balls with sauce for 2 people. Everything was steaming hot. Brings back childhood memories.
Wheelchair accessibility: Just on the street, very accessible.“

“I came here expecting a similar experience to Pomme Frites and was sadly disappointed. While Frites is in the name, this establishment is focused a lot more on meals beyond just fries (like burgers). That’s not a bad thing, I was just hoping for something a little more specific. The Frites in question were okay. A little overcooked and crispy, but perfectly good enough to soak up the alcohol after a trip to nearby Sunken Harbor. The dipping sauce options were limited to a handful, but solid. The location has a few tables in the front. I wouldn’t call this a place where you would want to chill out, but it served its purpose. They also had fancy lemonades, which was a bonus.
Kid-friendliness: No reason why you couldn’t bring your child here. Just know that there isn’t a ton of seating.“
“I don’t buy Mobile Cart food much , but this one was good . I just had a 5 min break and didn’t have time to go to a restaurant to order food . Rafiqis had no customers and quickly went and ordered. The price on Tyne right side of the truck isn’t the right amount . They increased the price and had a different rate on the front of the cart ..
Got felafel over rice .. felafel was fresh ….i actually liked their saffron rice . It was fresh and tasted good . They gave it with salad and some sauce on the top. Costed about 11$ , which isn’t bad . Quantity of rice was small but it was good enough ! My friends had lamb over rice and they liked it . Good experience overall …“
“Loved the food!! A MUST TRY for anyone!! I had the chicken+rice+salad+white sauce+hot sauce combo and it was AMAZING!! I am from Florida and never had anything like this ever there especially for the price. The food was delicious, clean and cheap too and made me full for the rest of the day. Infact, I liked it so much that I had it twice in the same day since I was in NYC only for a day and didn’t want to miss it. The owner was an amazing guy and he was generous enough to give me Falafel too. The way he talked showed his passion for food. Loved it! I wish we had this in South Florida too.“

“**Mi Mexico Peqeno, Sunset Park's Hidden Gem for Pan Dulce**
This unassuming bakery in Sunset Park is a true find for lovers of authentic Mexican sweet bread. The selection of pan dulce is outstanding, with all the classics like conchas, puerquitos, and orejas, as well as more unique offerings that rotate seasonally. Everything is baked fresh daily, and the quality is evident in every bite. The conchas are perfectly soft and fluffy, with a sweet, crumbly topping. The puerquitos are rich and buttery, with a satisfying crunch. And the orejas are light and airy, with a delicate cinnamon sugar coating.
The prices are incredibly reasonable, making it easy to indulge in a variety of treats. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the bakery itself is clean and well-maintained. If you're looking for a taste of authentic Mexico in Brooklyn, this pan dulce bakery is a must-visit.“

“Some of my visits to the Harbor may last most of a day and it's great to be able to grab something to eat/drink on the grounds. 🙂“
“Notalgic is the word that defines the place, the older gentleman who was there, who is not the owner JohnPhillis, is a person who should be retired, has no patience with customers and tourists, is very rude when dealing with people, and This ends up influencing the rest of the team, who learn how not to treat people. I loved the hamburger I ate, the fries were perfect, only the Coca Cola is very still for those who are used to drinking bottled ones, I loved the place, I hope one day to go back and meet John in person who, from the videos I watched, seems to be a very interesting person.“

“I just went to the truck today! I handed the guy managing the orders my phone written with the order I wanted + payment with tip! (I didn't want to speak because my voice does not match the vibe I try to give 99% of the time!).
He took it with an open heart and even added a sweet pastry to my order! He was very kind for that.
Protect the man managing the orders at all cost ?“

“For those of us who love Halal food we are always looking for that mysterious exotic aromatic flavor that rocked our souls and stole our hearts. For me the perfect platter of halal food, be it rice or lamb over rice, has to have that perfect balance of meat to rice ratio. The right seasons and spices are used . Are there any sides such as vegetables or pickles provided. Big Boss plate of combination over rice checked most of those boxes for me. If I’m in Lenox hill the Big Boss truck is certainly one
Of my top voices of truck food.“

“I still think about this guys gyro. My wife and I stopped at the pizza place across the street and I wanted to try this guys food. My wife and I shared gyro and fries. The hot sauce, the meat, the tzatziki, the lettuce, the tomatoes, everything so fresh, and the taste. Who would think 5 years later this is still the best we have ever had. On top of it all his service and kind smile was so genuine. Absolute 5 star food. Loved it and can’t wait to try again!“

“$7 platter is crazy given other carts in the area are charging $10. Also, the gentleman behind the grill is so friendly, patient, and sweet.
The platter tasted amazing. Although though the rice was slightly overcooked, the lamb was very tender and well cooked.“

“Came with my boyfriend whos been here multiple times and said it was delicious, and he wasn’t wrong. We got chicken, squid, chinese sausage, ricecake, shrimp, and beef skewers that were ALL amazing. HIGHLY recommend the spicy powder on any skewer you order. I have low tolerance for spice, but it was just a small kick for a couple seconds. I will be coming here way more often, I found my favorite food spot for late night snacks.“

“Delicious. Chicken/lamb platter was seasoned well and perfectly diced. Rice was light and fluffy. No grease at the bottom of the container. White sauce was very flavorful and the red sauce wasn't "burn your mouth off" hot. The guy that runs the cart is a gem. Cash only.“
“The BEST spot to get authentic Tofu Custard (Tofu Fa 豆腐花) in all of Brooklyn! I've been visiting this stall for years and it always hits the spot!Definitely buy a couple packs of their noodles as well (ho fun, lai fun, and lo shu fun are my fave varieties!), they work great in noodle soups and stir fry dishes and store well in the fridge!“

“A beautiful place perfect to eat a burrito al pastor tacos from Carnitas and everything is fresh instantly prepares the meat like other trucks that already have the meat cooked just heat it up and then it's over that's why other people complain that two tacos half an hour Esque He doesn't know about the service they roast and everything is fresh until the radish is cut instantly ???
Vegetarian options: The entire menu is vegetarian except for the flautas gordita and tamales ☺️☺️☺️“

“Amazing momos, I love the beef momos steamed personally. I find it best to steam them myself because then its steam just the right amount. If you do buy steamed momos of the truck you will likely not have to wait however, its very fast! Been going here for years and steamed over 600-800 momos so far!“
“Incredible food truck! It’s around the corner of 54th and Broadway every night, except for Tuesday, from 6pm-6am.Ibrahim, the owner and chef, makes some of the best basmati rice with chicken plates. Check his spot out for a late night snack after The Great Gatsby Show, or a stroll on Broadway.“

“This halal cart is insanely good. I had low expectations because i was just running out from the library for a quick lunch but it did not disappoint: i had the falafel over rice. It came with fries, salad and tomatoes with both sauces. The rice was flavourful the falafels were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the fries were even good. And everything was cooked fresh in front of you which really contributed to the quality. The person working there was super friendly and accommodating and on top of it all it was only 8$, and i couldn’t finish the plate
100% recommend !“
“Yolanda is our go-to street food vendor in Harlem. It’s quick to get one or two tamales but she also does larger orders which we’ve done in the past—a big success with our group of friends. Try the pork or green chili chicken along with either a corn chocolate, or jamaica (hibiscus) drink ?“

“I ordered a mix over rice, and for starters it’s a great deal you get a drink and a filling plate for under $10. The lamb is pretty flavorful but not as much as the chicken, the hot sauce adds and pairs really well with the protein and rice while the green sauce gives it a fresh minty flavor. I’d say there are way better tasting food carts but it is 100% a bang for your buck. Be prepared to stand in a 10-15min line“
“A group of four of us met here after going to see the tree in Rockefeller Center. The restaurant was very quiet at 4:30pm when we arrived. We were met at the door, by a woman who was possibly a manager or owner, with a warm greeting and seated immediately. The service and food were both very good. The music was fun and upbeat but we could still hear each other talking. Great find! Would definitely recommend!“
“These street carts were peppered all over NYC. Am unsure why certain carts have longer queues than the rest even though they were all from the same franchise. Nothing much to comment on the taste. I didn't like the mess on the plate which was heavily slathered in white sauce. Reasonably priced. Portions are huge.“

“Stayed right around the corner from the Times Square location 3 times. After trying them the first time, made it a point to always swing by there at least once to grab a bunch to take home. I love meat, but the portobello surprised the heck out of me- out of this world! Must stop by if you have time. They travel and reheat well, also!“
