“This is legitimately one of the best lunch spots I've been to in the area after working near Howell/Ramtown for the past, like, 10 years. I got the grilled chicken panini w/ pesto and mozzarella and an order of fries. Everything was delicious, fresh, and super hot when I picked it up. The fries are always super crispy, and the bread is great (bread makes or breaks a sandwich IMO). Also, the Tex Mex salad with chipotle vinaigrette and grilled chicken may legitimately be the perfect salad.

I ordered online and stopped in really quick to grab everything. The staff was super nice.

The only thing is that it’s a tiny shop and gets packed quickly so just be aware you might be waiting a bit, especially if you go on the weekend - and parking can be a bit tricky.“

“Frequent customer, but always blown away with the freshness of their summer menu. The shrimply the best tacos, which was originally on a tostada last summer, was just as amazing, but didn’t sit as heavy as a tostada. Love the move to a light tortilla. The Mexi-Avo toast was so filling and the flavors melted together so nicely. Don’t forget the decor inside is so cozy, boho/havana vibe and perfect for a date or girl’s brunch. 10/10“

“We had Castaways cater my daughter’s engagement party. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Chicken franchise, broccoli and cavatelli, roasted potatoes, mozzarella and tomato and shrimp cocktail that was amazing!!!! I’m definitely going to use them again!“

“Simple, fresh, and nutritious food. I really enjoyed the open face smoked salmon bagel and lentil soup. A great portion for the price, and you aren’t left feeling uncomfortably full. “This was a soul quenching phenomena. Mike told me he got in around noon. A gem of a barista, people like him are an enormous part of the reason this culture and vibe are so revered.

Specialty coffee is anything if
not stylish, and like all things sophisticated, worth traveling for and often, waiting for. I will say though, if you go late it may be quiet enough to see the shop in a special and nuanced glow.

And yes, there is something about a remarkable cafe that just epitomizes it…. The connection to where the flavor comes from. Bean to mug, farm to table, and although the beans drift through the air and over oceans, if the culture of storytelling hits just right, you can get more than a cup of coffee at the right place.“
