“My mother and Daughter stopped in this beautiful shop after a little shopping at the local thrift store . They had so many healthy options . Fruit and yogurt bowls ,natural juices , immunity shots , smoothies . My mother and I got veggie patties (delicious). My daughter opted for the Salmon bite salad . When that salad came out both me and mother wanted another to share . The shop owners and workers were kind and patient . The store had a lot to offer and the space was neat a clean even while they were working on a batch of immunity shots.

I had visited vara juice multiple times, with each time being a pleasant experience and yesterday's visit was no exception. I ordered a large strawberry banana smoothie. It came out delicious per usual. I prefer vara juice to the other juice bars in bay ridge. My only gripe with them is that nowthey only have one person working there, so just be patient. The lady working there was very nice and even asked me how my juice tasted. I recommend that anyone craving fresh juice pays them a visit.“

“The 5 stars are for the smoothies and juices. They are genuinely great and I highly recommend them!

However, despite living in the area, it’s hard for me to go here for a drink regularly even though I want to. The main reason is the amount of plastic. Maybe I’m an outlier here but I just can’t get comfortable with the amount of plastic that gets used with every single drink.

All I want is a drink in a glass. Instead, it’s in a plastic cup, with a plastic straw that is individually wrapped in plastic. I’ve tried asking for drinks “for here” but they don’t really have that as far as I can tell. Instead, I get a drink in a plastic cup, sealed with plastic, in a plastic bag.

It’s very hard because I love getting a drink here but always come away feeling bad about the amount of plastic waste I’ve just caused to go out into the environment for a single smoothie. I’ll be their biggest champion if they just introduce a “for here” option that is a simple glass. Or, let me bring my own glass if it’s easier!“
