“McWhorter BBQ is a low key Portuguese bbq spot in the middle of Ironbound. The pork ribs are great the charcoal and saltiness was perfect and the fries were really good. You can’t beat the prices for this area. The service was great and my experience was good but I have one complaint and that is the rice it tasted fishy almost like it was boiled in the same pot as they would boil seafood. If you order fries get a salad or beans on the side and not the rice.“

Also tried the fries, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw as sides and can't complain about any of them. The one drawback was the jumbo shrimp was a bit on the salty side. Parking in the back. Pricing is great especially these days. All the food is made to order so be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes if you order there but it's def worth it. They have a high chair as well for those who need one.“

“Have only good things to say about this restaurant. Great service and the food is delicious. I loved their ribs and chicken combo and the picadinho. The other reviews were right about the combo. The portions are big enough for 2 people. They have so many different flavors for the empanadas can't wait to try them all. I had the banana Nutella and the cheese guava and they were so yummy. There are tables both indoors and outdoors and they also deliver. I'm definitely coming back!“

They called because part of our order they ran out of they were happy to accommodate even with the language barrier I don't speak Spanish. Cooked perfectly!!!! We like ours still mooing! “We needed a BBQ place like this in Orange! BBQ half chicken, with yellow rice and french fries is one of my favorite trays theh carry and within my budget. The fries taste very close to Mcdonald fries! Good food, clean, fast service and spacious sitting area with TV. One thing though is their bbq sauce has high fructose corn syrup and they don't make their hot sauce in house. They also serve coffe and tea, do delivery and accept credit cards. Benjis and Mama Lola watch out!“

“I have been wanting some great Jamaican food since I moved from NY in 2021. Thankfully I found this spot. I ordered the jerk pork, rice and peas, cabbage/carrot dinner, along with a large goat soup, festival and a Soursop drink. The pork is divine, well seasoned, juicy, tender and succulent, the rice and peas were flavorful and moist, the cabbage/carrots were very tasty too. The “goat” soup had 1 piece of goat inside but that not withstanding it was seasoned well. The Soursop drink was delicious a bit sweet but still very good. The festival was really good and a great match for soup. I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know and be coming back soon! Visit them today and don’t delay. There’s plenty parking“
