“We recently held a family reunion at El Mesón Español, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to explain the menu and answer all of our questions. The food was outstanding—every dish was cooked to perfection. We especially enjoyed the paella, oxtail, veal, and ribs—each one full of rich, authentic. Highly recommended!“

“Hace poco hice un pedido para un evento social familiar por un valor de $540 pero decidí pagar con mi tarjeta de crédito, obviamente me cobran el impuesto tax 6.625% de venta, sin embargo, tuvieron el descaro de cobrarme un 2.9% adicional por el uso de la tarjeta de crédito. Cuando les pregunté, me dijeron que había un cajero (ATM) automático que podía usar, por lo tanto si lo pagaría en efectivo y solo pagaría $ 540. Their food is very much like in Barcelona and their 2 choices of Sangria are delish, not to mention vegetarian and some vegan options too that keeps everyone content! “We stopped at Tia Pol after a stroll on the Highline on a Sunday-it wasn’t very crowded but the food and service were great. It feels pretty legit Spanish. They have the classics as and some more uncommon tapas on offer. It’s maybe a bit on the pricey side but everything was executed well.“

“I went to El Pingüino about two weeks ago and absolutely loved that they offer happy hour seven days a week and it’s becoming a routine for us!
The hours are 4–7 PM, plus a late-night happy hour from 10 PM to midnight.

Their seafood happy hour is pretty simple they only offer one type of oyster but it was super fresh and delicious. Clean, lightly briny, and perfect with just a squeeze of lemon.

And they have really great basque cheesecake!

The overall vibe is relaxed and easygoing, making it a great spot to unwind after work or grab a late-night drink.

If you’re in Greenpoint and love oysters, this place is definitely worth checking out.“
