My only complaint would be that if you are ordering for delivery don’t get any of the fried food like the mac and cheese balls, they don’t manage to stay crispy at all by the time they get to their destination. Maybe they could look into ways to keep them crispy for a longer period of time. Either way the cheesesteak is a 8.5+/10 (extremely good)“

“This is one of my favorite quick or fast food places to eat despite the occasionally solicitation of the poor and homeless in the area.
The operators are always patient and tolerant.
My favorite is the fish being pescatarian now and the fries are great too.
The bathroom although tidy, well supplied and not stinking, is dingy in there which I sometime correlate to the food but so far, so good.
This will remain my favorite spot to go and get fried fish and the cost is not that bad either.“

“Traveling to Philadelphia, I wanted to support a black-owned business. I found BlackHen like most people (through social media of course). The name and the bold decor caught my eye. So creative! I made reservations on Open table (as it's a smaller venue) HIGHLIGHTS: Bri was our waitress , she was very polite and kind. I ordered the 4 wings, with collard greens and candied Yams. I also ordered a Mac and cheese. Oh my goodness... the food was all that. I thought I was in the South. Everything came out hot 🔥. It was crazy delicious. Chicken was fried just right and seasoned so well. My taste buds waa trying to figure it out! Greens were just right not too vinegar and not too sweet. They also had a "kick' to it. Candied Yams could really be the dessert. It was good. The Mac and cheese was.on point. ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: The meal didnt come with bread or cornbread (I didn't realize it till I was finished) Music- I thought i saw somewhere, that R&B music waa played. Rap (with explicit language) was the only thing in rotation. My daughter is 15 and she commented to me about the music since there waa a family there with two minor kids Please dont look at this as a negative review. Whenever. I'm in Philly. I WILL visit again. The branding caught my eye, but its the food that will have me return.“

“My favorite spot to eat in the Deptford Mall food court. Highly recommend the kimchi cheesesteak, but if you want traditional go with the Old School. Cheese fries were excellent as well.

It's a tad pricey but it's in the mall, so for what ya get I think it's fair. Quality is excellent as well. Give them a try.“

“We chose it because they have regular and gluten-free options. We had a large pepperoni and a large onion pizza as well as a gluten-free pepperoni and a gluten-free white pizza. All were good except the white pizza. It usually has ricotta, but this was literally just mozzarella cheese on the crust.
Everything else was very tasty, though. It’s the best GF pizza I’ve ever had.“

For those reviews that complain of how long it takes, read the menu. It specifically recommends you order "25 minutes in advance". As for the poor customer service, it is fine. They aren't overly nice with "my pleasure" every 5 seconds, but that's okay. They are knowledgeable and got my order correct. I don't need anything else.
