Everything was so good 😋 n it's byob
We were visiting from our if state and found this place. The 3.9 starts were not making a lot of sense to me so we decided to try it anyway. The food was full of flavor, staff was amazing and the restaurant was clean.
We're putting this place in our list for our next visit.
food was absolutely tasty. Although the waitress was polite service was unfortunately lacking. being the only customer in the restaurant, it took 30 minutes to get 3 deviled eggs as apps and another 30 minutes to get my food order. I would order take out however I wouldn't sit in again.

BlackHen is a charming restaurant in Philadelphia known for its delicious food and excellent service. The sauces are delectable, especially with the standout popcorn chicken. The decor is cute and bold, creating a unique atmosphere. They offer apparel for sale and are BYOB, with sweet tea that is so good you won't miss alcohol. The fried chicken wings with sides like Mac n cheese and collard greens are a must-try. The menu also features chicken cheesesteak soup, deviled eggs, and cheesesteak balls. Many customers praise the chicken tenders and the overall tasty, fresh food. Visitors enjoy the intimate setting, making it a popular spot for special occasions and regular visits alike. However, some have noted that the place is small with limited food options, and service can sometimes be lacking. One guest mentioned the long wait for silverware and napkins, and issues with bathroom soap, which affected their experience. Despite these concerns, the friendly staff at the front help create a welcoming environment. Overall, BlackHen remains a great place to enjoy soul food and a unique dining experience in Philadelphia.
