“The whole experience was amazing, Paulo, the owner, was so kind, he made us feel like we were in his home the whole time. He kept refilling our tea and appetizers, which he gave us as soon as we sat down, with soup. This was free of charge! He made suggestions to help us choose the main dishes, talked about Macau and some traditions. His wife cooks and he serves, everything is fresh and prepared earlier in the day. What an amazing experience. Everything we tried was so tasty and delicious. At the end he also gave us some oranges! Unforgettable!“

“Solid menu and great flavour all around! Per some previous reviews and from our experience, some items are definitely better than others. Would highly recommend the enchiladas with their vegan cheeze, very delicious and quite a big meal. Tacos can be hit or miss. Went back for the Saturday brunch, food was good and nice portion sizes. “Fabulous!! This was our 1st time at Adelaide Oyster House and it did not disappoint. Very friendly, great service and the food was amazing! There was a beautiful aroma when we entered the restaurant. We had some oysters which came from various provinces, NS, PE and NL, with different sauces and tried 4 of their appetizers...pork belly dumplings, beet salad, Korean chicken and spicy tuna. All were delicious. Service was great! Looking forward to the next time!“

“Excellent breakfast. The one thing that could be improved is the temperature of water used for tea because once you add milk you have a tepid cup of tea. I've eaten breakfast at Exile many times and it's always been delicious. Great service too!“

“Me and my partner went here for the first time today and it was the BEST restaurant experience I’ve ever had! After my order came out wrong, they were very quick to correct the mistake and apologized profusely. Paul recommended a wonderful red wine, and for someone who doesn’t typically drink wine, he found the perfect one for me! The menu had a great variety, I ordered the fish and chips and my partner ordered the smash burger, both were very delicious. The drink menu was endless, the atmosphere was very pleasant where you can have a romantic date or come with family! 10/10 I can’t recommend this place enough!!!“

“Amazing food all around. I love their burgers and enjoy how they do not skimp on the condiments. My only gripe is how the restaurant is always playing country music. Other than that, flawless experience.

Dietary restrictions: As someone with a shellfish allergy, I was very pleased to find out that they don’t cross contaminate other fried foods with their shrimp

“We came here for dinner one night as their tapas menu seemed more interesting than the gastro pub or other options.

They have an outdoor patio but it looks more like a rail car as you step up into it. It is on Water Street but the kitchen is accessed off the side street so the servers were running back and forth to get orders.

For drinks we ordered 2 Frozen Rose Sangrias which were cool and refreshing to help beat the heat.

We ordered 2 Baja Cod Tacos, 2 Pork Belly Baos and some Pan con Tamate (bruschetta made of tomato, garlic, olive oil and you can add sea salt to taste). The cod tacos were crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside, the pork belly was crispy but moist due to the fat and the bruschetta was flavourful but the sea salt put it over the top!

We were still hungry so we also ordered a Bianca Flatbread. The garlic cream sauce and Brie made it creamy while the caramelized onions gave it some sweetness. The herbed mushrooms and prosciutto took it to a whole other level!

To finish off a great meal we shared a Dulce de leche Crème Brûlée. It was sweet, creamy and decadent and the perfect way to complete the evening.

If you want great service, food and atmosphere this is your place!

“I was there last night for supper thinking they still had the buffet but when we got there they didn't but we decided to stay anyway and I am so glad we did. Hands down the BEST Chinese food I have every had. The service was awesome and friendly. I would recommend you try Full House Restaurant. “Fantastic! I love fish and my friends are vegetarian. Great selection of menu items and more veggie roll options than any sushi place I've been, including in bigger cities. The fish was fresh and everything was delicious. I loved the cucumber wrapped roll and the peppered tuna sashimi was original and seasoned just the right amount.“

“It was a rainy day when we visit, perfect time for a bowl of ramen. Supposed to order Tonkatsu Ramen but some of the ingredients is not available so we end up ordering just Saigon Beef Pho and some maki. Ask for extra water with no ice waited but not served. We just ask another glass of water before we left. The menu is smelly hopefully they clean it regularly.

Parking: More space but have to pay for it.“

We ordered the Northern Thai curry with chicken (Thai hot/spicy), peanut curry with chicken (hot/spicy), crab Rangoon, cucumber salad, and jasmine rice. Everything was delicious! “This was our first time visiting Basho. We frequently visit St. John’s and very much enjoy the restaurant/food scene in town. This was one of my favourite meals I’ve had ever! The filet mignon was the best steak I’ve had in St. John’s hands down, the flavour was amazing and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the special of the night which was the seafood steamer, which was mussels, scallops and shrimp in a Cajun cream sauce.. unreal!! He also had the spicy scallop roll which was so fresh and tasty. I can’t wait to visit again!“

“It is a pretty nice restaurant, our servers were super sweet! The fish tacos were great. The chicken fingers were also good but the honey garlic sauce left a weird taste in the mouth. The cheese burger was dry but besides that it was a very nice experience“

The restaurant was about half full when we were there - 6pm on a Thursday evening - the noise level was tolerable and service was awesome. A great choice for a good meal at a reasonable price.“
