“You ever go in to restaurant expecting to just eat and leave, but end up laughing yourself to death because you vibe so well with the employees? That was our experience on 03/04 and Zu Hot Pot became the pinnacle highlight of our trip to Abq. Usually the highlight of a trip to Abq is not getting shot or robbed and this place far surpassed the usual expectations. The food was great, the hot pot was a new welcome experience much akin to a mongolian grill theme but different all on its own. The best part though was our waiter Tomas pronounced toe-moss I believe. Personally I would have gone with Tom-is but I digress and believe this young person should identify to whatever pronunciation Tomas prefers.Tomas came over and greeted us with an attitude befitting his age(16) and someone who works(possibly unwillingly) for the family business. Once I caught wind of the vibe and energy Tomas was presenting, we were quickly able to relate and joke through the rest of the night. The dry humor, subtle sarcasm, and slightly laxadasical attitude could turn some people off but for us it opened a door to a hilarious night of jokes, jabs, and laughter. We really enjoyed the night and have tons of jokes and laughs and overall great memories. I will be back to this place anytime I have the misfortune of ending up in Abq and look forward to more hilarious experiences and sneaking french fries into the hot pot.“

“Had birthday dinner with family on weeknight. New Hibachi area super nice. Asked waiter and chef if they could do gluten free and the response was yes! They separated the fried rice, veggies and my meal (used same spatulas though which is ok for me, but I'm sure you could ask). Do you know how long it's been since I've had fantastic fried rice?? A loooong time! Absolutely no reaction, no illness. Last time I ate at a hibachi grill I got very ill because I didn't know at the time that the first ingredient in soy sauce is wheat. Outstanding service, outstanding accommodation of an allergy, and outstanding food. Will definitely be going back, maybe for Mother's Day!!!“

“Staff friendly and prompt. Food was tasty , good price. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp and it was very good. Nice and crispy and just enough sauce. One of my favorite restaurants in abq, and so far the best Chinese food I've had in “

“My mom and I always ask to split the Jjamppong (Korean seafood noodle soup) and jajangmyeon (Korean black bean noodles) into two to share, with the Korean seafood pancake. One of our favorite spots in town. Very good service and relaxing atmosphere.“

“If you walk into a Chinese restaurant and see that over half the people inside are Chinese, then you know you found a good place.Neo Szechuan is Authentic, capital A intended!Want a flavorful, crispy orange chicken? You got it! Want spicy fried chicken? They got it here! Want a seafood and tofu hot pot that will burn your mouth? Done! This is, so far, the best Chinese food I have had in ABQ, and I would absolutely come back if I am craving it again.“

“This was my first time at this restaurant. For the money, I was given a big meal that was very good. I saw that they serve one of my favorite noodle dish, chow fun. I’ll be coming back to try the beef chow fun. I’ll probably have to bring my own hot mustard since they only have the packets which is hardly hot mustard. I like to mix hot mustard and soy sauce together and pour a little over the noodles. It’s also a good dipping sauce for egg rolls, pot stickers, dim sum, and to have with beef broccoli.“

“The ABQ area has terrible Chinese food. My partner and I are from the East coast. When we discover this place, we fell in love. the food is delicious AF. People who complain about the customer service are just soft. No, not everyone has to bow down to you. You come for the food above all else. If you want to go for atmosphere, I recommend hiking“

“After mixed reviews I thought I'd try it myself. The place is clean, quaint and friendly environment. I ordered the lunch L.5 Orange Chicken for $8.75. The order came with a descent size egg drop soup, fried rice, and an egg roll. Overall, customer service was a 10/10, menu options was a 10/10, time from order to food to table was a 10/10 and flavor and quantity for a lunch meal was 10/10. Got time, give this place a try it is worth it and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend.“

“This ain't no chain restraint, so people complaining about boxes in the dining area should go to PF Chang's or Panda Express. It's a local family owned restaurant that has been part of the community for over 20 years. Our serven named Sun was amazing and super friendly. Our combination plates were big and filling. Enough leftovers for dinner. The appetizer called the PoPo platter was a great variety and super tasty. Next time we're in town, we plan on eating here again. ?“

“I went here yesterday after work for a Chinese New Year dinner. They were already slammed with a full house of Asian people celebrating and the phone was ringing off the hook with orders. They still took care of everyone very well and the food was amazing. They were so busy because everyone knows this place is so good.Order: small wonton soup, combination egg foo yung, garlic chicken. Yeah, that's a lot for one person (portions are very generous), but I wanted to take some home to enjoy over the weekend.SO GOOD, all of it. I wish all of them and you a happy lunar new year. And I appreciate the service.“

“The food is SO good! The portions are not huge, which is great for me. They can most make anything on their menu gluten free, including the breaded dishes like General Tao's chicken. The service was excellent. My only issue is I wish it were closer to me!“

“This ABQ Saturday restaurant review is being posted a day late ... I fell asleep hard immediately after getting in the door! After leaving class to head to an appointment, we met up with two members of our Kung Fu family to enjoy each other's company and grab a bite of dinner. They recommended this place ;-) #szechuanchineserestaurant and we were in for a treat! It's your standard Chinese. I always test them with either general chicken (I always ask for very little spicy) or sweet and sour. The one with broccoli was general chicken. They did add very light spice ;-) and the flavor underneath was both tangy and sweet simultaneously, to which my friend @phoenix_rune93 and I both responded with #ohyum to both that and the orange chicken (which was equally delicious... and led to both of us spooning from both plates). Of course in my tradition and style I HAD to taste the Moo Shi... which was also an excellent choice! Overall great vibe, nice service and delicious! 5/5 #gourmetrecovery #dinnerwithfriends #kungfupandas“

“My sister has been raving about this place and I finally get the hype... it's great! I highly recommend the wontons in chili oil, the soup dumplings, bok choy, and cucumber salad. We loved everything! Can't wait to visit again and try the water spinach and more of the bao.“

“Amazing service and delicious Ramen. I got #33. The broth was rich and the noodles hand pulled. RecommendVegetarian options: All ramen and noodle soups can be made with vegetables or a tofu option instead of a meat choice. Other dishes can have tofu added but for a 1$ charge.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free options for the ramen and noodle soups; you can switch out the egg noodles for rice noodles. As well as a gluten-free option for the pad Tai sauce.Parking: There are two reserved parking spots for the Fun Noodle Bar.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but they do have the option for small sides of steam rice (1$), fried rice (2$), or chow mein Noodle (5$).Wheelchair accessibility: Somewhat difficulty as the doors are not automatic, but the staff is very accommodating.“

“When it comes to places, my s/o and I try multiple pertaining to that food category, if it be italian cuisine, to mexican cuisine, to chinese cuisine, etc. One of my top picks that outdoes the rest has to be China Garden, with its homely atmosphere, to their top service and food selection, perfect for any setting you are doing. I always try a different item on their menu, and never left hungry or unhappy. Please check them out and see for yourself!“

“Our go- to Chinese restaurant! The food is fantastic. Our favorite Chinese food in Albuquerque. They are near Coralles so you can hit Sprouts while you're there. We usually do take-out so I can't say anything about eat-in. The staff is always so nice and our orders are NEVER wrong. Our favorites are: spring rolls, wonton soup, shrimp with lobster sauce, orange chicken and mei fun noodles (spicy). I've eaten Chinese food all over America and this is honestly one of the best I've had.“

“This restaurant was recommended as a nice change from Cracking Crab. I was told the menu was more extensive with a variety of seafood and noodle options as well as the seafood boils. My wife had a seafood boil, I had the ABC ramen. My ramen was pretty good. My wife loved her boil. She especially loved the way the shrimp was somewhat butterflied, not over cooked and really easy to peel. She said the seasoning was on point but, needed a little salt which she added from the table. I would suggest bringing your own seafood seasoning if you want it salty. I had the steamed buns, can't remember the name and my wife had the steamed dumplings. Both were really good. The prices were considerably better than brand X.“

“This place was recommended by my husband's coworker, and now we understand why. There was not a single thing we didn't like about this meal. First, they bring you a little bowl of wonton strips and sweet & sour, which we ended up eating chips and salsa style. Maybe they were supposed to be for the soup course of the Family Joy dinner, but we enjoyed it on its own. For our entree selections, we got the cashew chicken and roasted pork lo mein. Both were fantastic, but I'd say our #1 & 2 stars of the meal were the crab rangoon (hot, crispy and well-stuffed) and the egg foo young. We got beef this time, but we look forward to trying others. The portions are quite generous, and we took home lots of leftovers, which will make for great lunches tomorrow. We will definitely be back again, as this is our new favorite Chinese restaurant! We often eat at odd hours, so when we arrived around 3:45pm, we were the only patrons. We were greeted and seated promptly, and our drink orders were taken before we even sat. The restaurant was quiet, with some phone orders and one other party that arrived during our visit, who seemed to be regulars. There was no music, so the only sounds were from the kitchen, and the AC. There are lots of tables, and I imagine it can get quite busy at times. Don't overlook this little gem. We are glad to have found a new favorite place right on Menaul.“

“I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the wontons.Shrimp fried rice was pretty good. Wontons tasted fresh and everything had a good flavor.Waitress was nice, i believe there was only one waitress. It was empty with only one other person eating . They did not have sushi, which was obviously displayed so no issues.I was pleasantly surprised because ive heard that the past restaurants at this location were really bad I would definitely go again. Most dishes were under 15 dollars which was nice.“

“The food is the star, and the lady behind the counter is the queen. I love that the food is ready to go and fresh and tasty and very inexpensive. When I leave with my to-go order, I am set for a couple of days with leftovers. I keep meaning to order off the menu, but the buffet is so perfect, I don't. I heard someone order the Sweet and Sour Pork with a garlic cream sauce (instead of sweet and sour) and I always mean to order that... Maybe next time.“

“Awesome food by a friendly family owned business! We came in about 45 minutes before close time. The family was extremely friendly, happily took our orders and talked to us while we waited.Don't be discouraged by the external appearance as the restaurant has been open since 1984 (may be 1994? Can't remember exactly which year). We briefly could see into the kitchen and it looked spotless. I had no concerns for the safety of the food. The food was delicious and freshly cooked! The serving size is generous for the amount you pay. We will definitely be returning!“

“I’m currently eating their beef fried rice(with double beef because why not) and it still reigns one of my most favorite meals. I love eating in Santa Fe in the plaza, old town Albuquerque and sawmill but there’s not a single place at any of those places that compares to here. Ps always get the crab rangoons and slather them in sauce your taste buds will thank you!“

“This is a nice restaurant. We've enjoyed all the food we've ordered there including General Tso, Kung Pao Chicken/Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Egg Rolls, Garlic Chicken. The staff are very friendly, and it seems like it's always busy. My only negative - too much zucchini in some of the dishes. You can ask for no zucchini!“

“I have been wanting to give this resturant a try for awhile. A co-work and myself stopped in after work for dinner. Got in around 4:45 before the rush. We ordered up paper chicken, egg drop and wanton soup to start. Soup was as expected but the paper chicken was delicious and probably the best I have had. My buddy ordered the Sizzling Beef and I got the Dragon Phoenix. Both came out right after we finished the appetizers. We both shared a bit of each. Both worth eating again but next time I am in I want to see what other gems they have to serve up. We left with plenty of food to take home and full stomachs. The service was great and the waitress was polite. As far as atmosphere it's exactly what you would expect for a Mom and Pops resturant. My only real complaint is the parking. I drive a full size truck and basically take up two spaces to not stick out into traffic. Though that falls on the city and property owners. Will certainly be back in the future.Since I am writing this I will say the taste is pretty authentic Chinese with what I tried. If you are looking for super saucy food you need to find a chain restaurant that cooks like Jaime Oliver. They also offer different spice levels so if you want the food "hot" you need to ask for it to be prepared that way. Hope this helps anyone that's on the fence.I enjoyed my visit and hope you do as well.“
