“What a wonderful delight to enjoy a restaurant that welcomes you in. With courteous service, good food and a nice atmosphere. I Could not ask for more, but I got more. They opened a new restaurant on rio grande in the old Monica's restaurant, building. the food is the same as the original location and the service fantastic. I want to wish them a prosperous journey in the new location. 5 stars...“

“Friendly staff. Seated immediately. The corn chips and salsa were tasty and not too spicy. The avocado salad was really good. The pork posole was typical of this area. The chicken enchiladas were really good. The beans served with them were the best I have had in a long time. Very inexpensive. Would go again.“

“Seriously the best restaurant we have found in Albuquerque so far. I’m going to be dreaming about the green chile salsa forever now. The service was amazing and friendly. The food was amazing. The green chile burger was delicious. Brisket Burrito with the red and green sauce. 🫶 Get yourself to The Original Cocina Azul. Our only regret is we didn’t go the first night we arrived.“

“Our server, Benjamin was new to his position but went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders were so great, taking care of an elderly gentleman who left his card at the bar. The bartender also made sure the lighting was corrected when someone made an error as it became dark outside. We will definitely come back to this location!“

“😀 This is a true neighborhood restaurant of delicious food well prepared, inviting owners and staff along with a casual comfort in a clean and tidy environment. On top of all this... these guys are the epitome of what a neighborhood diner should be. They know your name, care about your needs and care enough to meet you at even the needs unspoken. Albuquerque South Valley is blessed to have such a gem of a restaurant - We know we are! Go enjoy a great meal at a place that feeds your heart and mind, too!“

“There’s a good reason this family owned local favorite has been open for nearly 40 years. And they only need to be open 8am-2pm because they do New Mexican breakfast and lunch just right. Recommend any of their breakfast burritos- either hand-held or better yet, smothered. Baby burrito or pancakes (to share) for the kiddos.“

“Taqueria Mexico serves the best burritos I’ve ever had! The burrito was huge, packed with fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was full of flavor, and the balance of textures was spot on. The staff was friendly and the service was quick, making it an all-around great experience. The only thing I regret is that I don’t live in Albuquerque to enjoy it more often! Highly recommend for amazing Mexican food!“

“A hole in a wall that gives you authentic homemade Mexican food. We had a bowl of green chili, chimichangas, a large combination plate 1. Every was flavorful. The homemade salsa had a slight hint of spice that makes it delicious. Parking was limited in their lot but street parking is available. No alcohol on site. (We were craving margaritas) nonetheless we left very full and happy.“

“Just wanted to give a big thank you to Monroe’s on 4th Street. We went in a little nervous about food allergies, but the staff completely put us at ease. They were so kind and careful. The manager even went out of his way to call the head chef at another location just to double-check everything for us. They gave us a list of safe options and took every precaution to avoid cross-contamination. It meant so much to see my daughter enjoy her lunch without worry. Truly grateful for how thoughtful and accommodating everyone was. Highly recommend if you’re navigating food allergies. They really care.“

“I decided to try a new local restaurant for breakfast today and had heard really good things about Mick's Chile Fix, and since I was looking for a good chile fix I decided to try it. This place is awesome. I ordered takeout but the diner was super quaint and comfortable, it looked like a fantastic place to have brunch and it smelled amazing! The little gift store they had on the side was super cute too. I ordered a regular sausage breakfast burrito smothered in red and the portions they gave me were absolutely massive. Definitely a 2-day breakfast. The red chile is really rich and flavorful, I'd say a medium heat with enough kick to make my nose run, and the meal was delicious. 12/10 would recommend to anyone looking to support a local Mom&Pop-style restaurant while getting Grade-A+ New Mexican food at the same time. Will have to try the rest of their menu.“

“I love this place. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere pleasant and it is most usually full of customers. The waitresses stay busy and do not purposely ignore new customers, they are most likely bogged down with keeping customers happy with delivering orders, refills of coffee, tea or water and a panoply of other duties that they perform. They are not at fault. This restaurant has been in existence for 30 years, I knew it when Loyola, the founder opened it and I know that her daughter Sara is doing a fantastic job of continuing the service that Loyola started. I have zero complaints with this restaurant and certainly miss it when I am not in Albuquerque. Albuquerque is very lucky to have a restaurant of this quality.“

“Mexican tacos the way my daughter been asking for. Visiting from Dallas and she wanted Mexican tacos like back home in Oakcliff, Dallas, Texas. Did not disappoint! The atmosphere, menu and setting are just what she needed to feel back at home. We will be back one more time before we leave beautiful New Mexico.“

“First time trying this place and had the Ultimate Chilaquiles. Rib eye was cooked great and seasoned well. The beans were amazing and the coffee was great. Service from our waitress Rafaela was great. Had the Churros with ice cream for dessert and was amazing. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Oh I'm not a fan of the Chilaquiles as a whole but they where good.“

We need to support our local small businesses. The staff and owners are really nice. Let's give them a chance. 😊🙏“

“Always greets you when you arrive even when he is with another customer or when there is a line! His corn in the cup are filled to the brim too! Prices are reasonable considering he built his business from the ground up and probably uses the money to buy all that corn and to provide for his family. People can eat at the location where there is a table and chairs, everytime there are people there it is always so lively!“

“Always good. The green chile stew with a little bit of pork is always my favorite. My dining companion had three tacos. 🌮 They were so much for him, he had to take some home. Always recommend Abuelita's. Nice, calm, quiet spot in the South Valley. Check out the times to see if they are open. 😀“
