Food and service is top tier. Atmosphere is homey and has a great home town family feel. We were seated at a clean table immediately. The menu was easy to read and choose from. The server was happy to explain things and recommend things and the food came out extremely quick.

We let them know about our road trip and told them that their food was the best we have had yet and the staff and other patrons cheered and clapped for us as we departed it was soooo heartwarming and sweet. Definitely recommend checking this place out!“

“Great Mexican restaurant south on Wyoming near base. All around very solid. Flavorful, good ingredients, and fast service. Be aware that not all the waiters may speak great English, maybe like 1 in 5. However they are very used to non-Spanish speakers being near Kirtland air force base and are patient. Just point to the menu if you need to.

The place is always packed which is a good sign. I got carne asada tacos most recently, and my wife got a Thin steak. Everything was solid.

Be aware, they somehow track your order so when you go to the cashier, they'll know what you got. No bill comes to the table, just go up to the cashier when you're done.

Anyway, it's always a solid choice. If you don't often get Mexican but want some less Americanized options, you'll love it.“

“If you get there early enough, you get a nice table. Their food is first rate New Mexican style food. Not Mexican, NEW Mexican. there is a huge difference. Even after they left the bowling alley, they have managed great food at a great price. Staff is always friendly, fast and efficient. The Chile con queso is fantastic. The salsa never lets you down. While the portions are more than I can eat anymore they have lighter dishes that still deliver. If you get there after 6, you will have a wait ~ but it's worth it!!!“

“I decided to try a new local restaurant for breakfast today and had heard really good things about Mick's Chile Fix, and since I was looking for a good chile fix I decided to try it. This place is awesome. I ordered takeout but the diner was super quaint and comfortable, it looked like a fantastic place to have brunch and it smelled amazing! The little gift store they had on the side was super cute too. I ordered a regular sausage breakfast burrito smothered in red and the portions they gave me were absolutely massive. Definitely a 2-day breakfast. The red chile is really rich and flavorful, I'd say a medium heat with enough kick to make my nose run, and the meal was delicious. 12/10 would recommend to anyone looking to support a local Mom&Pop-style restaurant while getting Grade-A+ New Mexican food at the same time. Will have to try the rest of their menu.“

“I love this place. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere pleasant and it is most usually full of customers. The waitresses stay busy and do not purposely ignore new customers, they are most likely bogged down with keeping customers happy with delivering orders, refills of coffee, tea or water and a panoply of other duties that they perform. They are not at fault. This restaurant has been in existence for 30 years, I knew it when Loyola, the founder opened it and I know that her daughter Sara is doing a fantastic job of continuing the service that Loyola started. I have zero complaints with this restaurant and certainly miss it when I am not in Albuquerque. Albuquerque is very lucky to have a restaurant of this quality.“

“Always greets you when you arrive even when he is with another customer or when there is a line! His corn in the cup are filled to the brim too! Prices are reasonable considering he built his business from the ground up and probably uses the money to buy all that corn and to provide for his family. People can eat at the location where there is a table and chairs, everytime there are people there it is always so lively!“
