“This is the most amazing place to get New Mexican food! Great family establishment and friendly staff. Totally worth going out of your way (if you have to) for breakfast or lunch while visiting Albuquerque or Santa Fe“

“Visited last Friday for the first time and had tamales with red and green chile. The tamales were awesome, and I'd have a difficult time choosing between the red and green chile. My companion had enchiladas and highly recommended both the tamales and carne adovada. Although it is take out only, there are a couple of tables out front with shade.“

“I haved stayed at the hotel a couple of times in the past two weeks. The Mesa Grill is convenient to the hotel and I like to get the food in a go box to take to the hotel room.

I have been craving Asian food so last week I went to the counter and ordered orange chicken with fried rice. The gave me the little light up buzzer and the food was ready to pick up at the counter in about 5 minutes.
The orange chicken and fried rice were very good with plenty of vegetables. The proportions were huge. Only $10, so a good deal, and you dont tip any servers so you save money that way. It's self serve....

This week I tried the Beef and vegetables and it was also very good.“

“Went here for lunch with my friends. We got seated quickly and we were helped quickly. The salsa was hot in my opinion, and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The food was good, not the best thing I've had but it was worth what I paid for. Our waitress was awesome, very attentive to our table. The sopapillas were so good, definitely my favorite thing I ate“

“We have been dining at Prairie Star for many years, even driving there from Santa Fe before we moved to Bernalillo in 2013. We have never been disappointed in their food or service all these years but I think they are now at an all time high in both issues with their new chef. We dined there in June for my husband's birthday and again in July for our anniversary and Saturday we brought some friends visiting from Colorado and they were more than delighted. The consistency of the visits are what what we are most impressed with. All the servers have been outstanding (sorry I can't remember all their names) but Ronda was our latest server and she was outstanding. John and Jean Luther“

“My family made a reservation for 10 people at another restaurant. When we arrived they had no record of a reservation and said there would be a 60 minute wait. I called Casa de Benavidez to see if they could fit us in. They agreed and had a table ready when we arrived, 10 minutes later. The food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend for any event or family get together. This will be our new go to spot for mexican food! 👌“

“This Weck's location near Cottonwood Mall has very friendly and family friendly atmosphere, very clean, and easy access. Food came out hot, fast, and good. Our server, Dominic was awesome. I am going to tell you a true story about him. I knew Dominic when he was a cashier at the Weck's off of Paseo next to the church I attended. I would go there every Sunday before church. Dominic was very attentive, and he even smiled. He took our drink order and immediately was back with them. He took our order and answered all of our questions, he even asked one of our members if he wanted Christmas chile because he couldn't decide if he wanted red or green. He delivered out food right away and was hot. He was back again in no time with additional chile because he saw we didn't have enough. He continuedly check on us for drinks and asked up if our food was right. Good job Dominic.“

“Our server provided excellent service, and the food was very good as we have come to expect. We enjoy the chips and salsa prior to dinner, but the chips were nothing but small chip fragments. Our server noticed this and brought another basket - it too was nothing but small broken chips. The most concerning thing was the number of flies in the restaurant. We were seated inside where I would think it would not be so much of a problem - but the flies were almost intolerable. We noticed that other tables were also complaining about the flies.“

“This morning was my first time...pleased with the food - barbacoa street tacos and sausage breakfast burrito. My husband said the burrito was best ever! Logistics are another matter...I couldn't figure out the on-line ordering. So I called to ask a question - rang 19(!) times and the quality of the call was terrible - broken up and background noise. I called back and was answered at 3 rings. Quality of the call was much better and I ended up ordering by phone. Traffic is AWFUL. There were at least 12 cars in the drive thru..backed up onto eastbound Southern Blvd. I couldn't even pass the cars in line to continue down 26th (which dead-ends). I finally passed the line, went down 26th and turned around, parked and walked across to the walk-up window. Service was quick and friendly. Getting out of 26th again is a hassle - a lot, lot of cars going East on Southern so drivers going West waited forever - I finally was able to turn East on Southern and turned around to go West. PLEASE please figure out a better process! The food is good; it's a hassle to get to it!“
