“Chokola is one of those places that quietly overdelivers.

The moment you walk in, it feels intentional. Not overly polished, not trying too hard. Just clean, warm, and focused on what matters. The chocolate. The coffee. The experience.

The drinking chocolate is the standout, but the real sleeper hit is the dulce de leche mousse. It’s incredibly smooth and airy, with a deep caramel richness that doesn’t cross into overly sweet. The texture is dialed in. Light enough to feel refined, but still indulgent. It’s the kind of dessert that disappears fast and makes you wish you ordered a second.

Their pastries and desserts hold up across the board. Everything tastes like it was made with restraint and balance, not just sugar.

Coffee is solid, especially if you’re into well-executed, simple drinks. It complements the chocolate instead of competing with it, which is a detail most places miss.

What really works here is restraint. They’re not trying to be everything. No bloated menu, no gimmicks. Just a tight focus on doing a few things very well.

If there’s a downside, it’s that this isn’t a “cheap and quick” stop. Prices reflect the quality, and portions are more curated than oversized.

Bottom line: go for the chocolate, stay for the dulce de leche mousse. It’s easily one of the best things on the menu.“

“Very cute spot! Grabbed a drip coffee, a cortado, and a bag of their seasonal beans (reasonably priced for a small shop roast).

Both drinks were a hit and I’ll be gifting the beans (the labels are cool!!). The decor was fun too!“

“We were on the road with our dog and we were so glad they had a dog friendly patio - they even gave her a bowl of water. Food was phenomenal. Service was friendly. Loved the in-house tea blends. It felt like eating comfort food without feeling heavy or unhealthy since everything is scratch made. We left feeling very full and refreshed.
I highly recommend the Tartine and the Cleansing Celtic Mint Tea! You also have to try their marmalade!“

“The Starbucks in Taos, N.M. is located inside the Albertson's Grocery Store, immediately to the left as you walk into the store's south entrance. This Starbucks has a decent size space of its own, despite the fact it's inside the Albertson's grocery store. This Starbucks has five or six tables for its guests and the employees of this Starbucks keep their coffee shop clean and organized. The employees make delicious Starbucks Coffee in all the same varieties as any other place, including the Mocha Coffee, my personal favorite. The Taos Starbucks actually has a nice, comfortable ambience, for being inside a much larger store. They also prepare and serve the delicious, quality breakfast and lunch sandwiches. So next time you're in Taos and you need a Great cup of Wake Up, stop by the Albertson's Grocery Store at the Cruz Alta Shopping Center and enter through the store's south entrance; once you're inside the store, turn to the left and you will see Starbuck's. What kind of Starbuck's Coffee and food you order is up to you; the good thing is, You Will Like It--maybe even Love It!!!

Kid-friendliness: You see folks in the Taos Starbucks who are young and old and middle aged. This includes families, Moms and Dads and the kids, so yes, it's a nice place for the entire family.“
