“Ate at Shotgun Willie's our first two days in Red River! Food was amazing service was great!!! What really got me was the friendliness of every single Employee I talked too. Went walking down to Chalet at about 6am on Thanksgiving day and guy was out by smoker offered me a coffee even though they weren't open yet. Then Taylor was great when getting our order even the gentleman who was going to Disneyland after the holiday. Most people would be complaining about working g on Thanksgiving . Not a single one was and thank you all for the great food and service!“

“Oh man, this is the place!! You can’t beat their breakfast menu. Try the Huevos Rancheros, with the best Green Chile!!! We travel from Texas just to eat this!! Great job Yesterday’s Diner! I’m not sure why you would go across the street to eat out of paper plates, and mediocre food. Head on over to Yesterday’s Diner!!!“

Moreno Valley Cowboy Evenings Bar & Grill • $$$
1670 NM-38, Red River

“A real gem in the Taos/Red River area—I can’t imagine ever going to the mountains of northern New Mexico without an evening of food and entertainment at Bobcat Pass Wilderness Adventures’ Moreno Valley Cowboy Evenings! This was our 2nd visit in 6 years. In 2017, we had so much fun, I vowed we would have to come back again. We finally made it back in the summer of 2023, and we were not disappointed at all! It’s really great fun!The Cowboy Dinner is excellent, made outdoors right in front of you. It’s a hearty meal with your choice of grilled ribeye steak, cooked to order, or chicken, baked potato, cowboy beans, delicious honey-glazed dutch-oven biscuits, & corn-on-the cob. They have lots of cold drinks available, but I couldn’t wait to get my paws wrapped around a big tin cup of their delicious cowboy “campfire” coffee! And they top it all off with “to-die-for” ho’made cinnamon rolls—SOooo Good!!Throughout dinner time, you’ll be entertained by one of New Mexico’s favorite cowboy sons, Syd Masters, and his band of western mountain musicians. Syd is a real champion for New Mexico, it’s western heritage and the “Cowboy Way of Life”! He’s a very talented singer, songwriter and musician. You’ll hear many of his original songs, along with your favorite cowboy ballads. He’s very funny and engages the whole crowd!Be sure to come early to visit the Lewis Mercantile shop (and watch swarms of hummingbirds outside), try your hand with a lariat, or play a game of horseshoes.“This is Western Hospitality at its Finest!”Kid-friendliness: Great Fun for young and old alike!“

Red River Brewing Company & Distillery Brewery • $$

“Stopped for lunch. I had the patty melt and my husband had the French dip. The food was very good. The beer was good, too. The only complaint was that we had a hard time getting a server when we were first seated. Once we did though, he did a good job. He just didn't appear to be happy about it.“

“We have been wanting to check this out since they built it. Wasn't disappointed. Service was awesome. I ordered the Reuben sandwich. It was delicious. My old lady had the BYOB. Build Your Own Burger. She said it was great. She had water for her beverage I chose and ,forgive me for butchering this, Cocoa Fuego Chocolate Green Chile Stout. Awesome. This would pair well with Mexican food. I bought a growler of it to take home. Atmosphere was awesome. Within walking distance of our cabin. Love this place.“

“Texas Reds Steakhouse is located in the small resort town of Red River, NM. I was skiing up here on my Ski cooper annual season pass (I highly recommend it, fantastic value, 3 free days at Red River ski resort since they are part of the partner pass program. )Texas Reds is lodge & restaurant. The prices are reasonable when compared to the other restaurants. The atmosphere is great.Sitting area with a fireplace and ability to listen to live music from the bar.Service was excellent, kudos to Tyler the server, he was attentive, made great meal suggestions and had a great customer service attitude.Atmosphere was great. Plenty of space between tables and the volume level of background sounds was quite tolerable. There is a full bar and they have a musician too. Music selections as well as the sound level were excellent.Food: first time here had the steak burger with sweet potato fries. Very tasty and a good value at $15.00. Dessert was a peach cobbler. It wasn't as quite what I expected, but was satisfactory.Second time there, I ordered the filet mignon,(it was pricey at $31 for a 5oz steak, but it's difficult to compete with Quincys in Leadville, CO). The meal came with prezel bread. It was excellent. Tyler suggested the creamy horseradish condiment which was great with the filet mignon. The cheesecake was to die for, and the portion was big enoughto kill you, it could have been shared easily between three people.Although a little pricey, this place is on my radar when I am up here on vacation.“
