Excellent house specialities and fast, friendly service!
A great find. We wanted to try local cuisine and happened upon Magueyes on a side street. The menu is extensive; and the server recommendations did not disappoint. The tortilla chicken soup was amazing. The chile verde was excellent! Of course the house margarita was delicious. Really a great experience.
Very good food and friendly staff. The salsa is really good.

The service is fast, smooth, and attentive, with staff who go above and beyond for customers. The food features excellent flavors and decent portion sizes that will not break the bank. Specific meals mentioned include chips and guacamole and salsa, mixed fajitas, chile Colorado, the Jalisco Special with perfectly cooked shrimp, a chili relleno, and a combination platter with a tamal a la carte. The chips and salsa are good, with fresh and warm tortilla chips. However, some dishes like the combination platter can be swimming in very salty sauces, so scraping off the sauces helps the true flavors shine. A margarita on the rocks was $14 and more bitter than tart or sweet. The restaurant is a nice little spot for lunch, not busy during Spring Break on a Wednesday, and the singing and music are great.
