Piazza Caffè Reviews
Everything from the food to the service ( request Brad!) to the atmosphere was worth the trip!
Great experience!!!!
While the atmosphere was quite lovely, the service was a bit slow. It took 30 minutes to get a small Caesar salad, which was lacking in flavor. The pepperoni pizza edges were crispy and tasty but the bottom of the pizza was soggy. The spaghetti noodles were handmade today but they were doughy to chew. They needed to be cooked longer or made thinner. $5 for a single meatball because they don’t serve meat sauce.
Third time here. My favorite Italian restaurant in SF and they increased the portion size of the lasagna..my fave...so had to take half home. But I LOVE their version of breadsticks..homemade Crostini...2 feet long, thin, crispy and salty sticking out of a slim fluted flower vase. Its inviting ambiance..table or booth..soft music and table lamps coupled with excellent food and service make this a go to place. Bonus is the piped in Italian lessons in the bathrooms.

Piazza Caffè is a charming family-owned trattoria that offers authentic Italian cuisine in an elegant and warm setting. The menu features homemade pasta, crostini, and scratch-made desserts like tiramisu, which is highly praised. The wine list is extensive, highlighting selections from various Italian regions that perfectly complement the dishes. The ambiance is enhanced by Murano chandeliers, adding an Italian touch to the atmosphere. Service is friendly and welcoming, though it can be slow, especially when crowded. Some dishes, such as the Caesar salad and Funghi pizza, received mixed reviews, with concerns about warm lettuce and small portions of mushrooms. Despite occasional service delays, the overall experience is positive, blending tradition, warmth, and flavorful dishes. Visitors appreciate the authentic flavors and cozy environment, making Piazza Caffè a place to enjoy real Italian cuisine without traveling to Italy.
