“Oh by the way, we had to come back to try this restaurant today. Two days ago, the 1.5 hr wait was too long because of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. For our first time at L & J Cafe, we enjoyed chili con queso, green chile enchiladas, Mexican combination and Caldo de Res. It was worth coming back.“

“I over heard someone talking about Chilabox, so I decided to try it out. When I went it was my first time trying chilaquiles and I was not disappointed. Since my first visit, I have been back almost every day. The staff now call me by name and know my order. I highly recommend and the food is really great. I have only tried the chicken chilaquiles only but a friend suggested that I try it with egg. Now I have another reason to go back!“

“The food was delicious. I'm usually not a fan of red enchiladas, but theses were the best enchiladas I've ever had. The spices were just right and the beans and rice were very good. The chips were homemade along with the salsa. The taste was like real home-cooked and not the usual big company processed taste. Martha was very nice and extremely friendly. If you are looking for good homemade Mexican food, I would definitely check this place out.“

“Been coming here for years the food is excellent better than L&J ‘s and Carlos and Mickey’s. It’s a simple place not much to it but the service is top notch! And at the end of your meal they ask you if you want sopaipillas and it’s included with your meal. A must place to eat great Mexican food!“

“Pleasantly surprised, I thought I was walking into hole in the wall restaurant, instead, I found a beautiful upscale Mexican cuisine restaurant with a beautiful table setting. No store brought chips and salsa was the first clue. Beautiful water glass with classy water refill carafe and cloth napkins (at lunch time). Service was great and menu was appetizing. I deserved this and will treat myself again soon!“

“Honestly I didn't even know if you can get food there, I just got some drinks and a lot of fun after a hard week in colege. I can certainly affirm that I would go back to this place. At some point the DJ messed up with the music, but he fixed quick letting all of us vibe around the night.
Generally speaking, a good place to go with friends and more if you are a student.“

“Wonderful little Mexican diner experience! All the food was delicious. Our entree came with our choice of soup and they provide a small dessert as well! The restaurant has lots of tables but it fills up fast it seems! The only drawback is a lack of parking. Come early if you can! We will definitely be back!“

“I had a burrito de deshebrada, very well prepared and every bite was tasty. The chips and salsa alone are delicious. The servers were very courteous and helpful. My elderly mother complained about each item she ordered, the sopa was too salty, the caldo de res had too much fat and only a little bit of beef, but she does that anywhere she goes. What stood out is that they were very patient with her and since she didn't eat, they removed the food from the bill. She calmed down towards the end and admitted to our server that maybe she was the problem because she can't taste much. Thank you for your kindness. I (alone) will definitely return to try other dishes.“

“Amazing experience. Salsa and chips were served immediately after we sat down. Our server was on top of taking care of us. Food was delicious all around our table. Sopapillas were so good also. “The food here is great! I come from authentic Mexican mother cooking and this is mother approved! They serve menudo every day and it’s very tasty! The burritos are made with fresh tortillas and stuffed with whatever kind you order. They don’t skimp! The salsa for the chips is tasty, but hot! It was a growing heat and I didn’t mind, but just a warning!“

“Sat in the patio on q Saturday. Dog friendly since we had our pooch. Ordered a milanesa burrito w beans and guacamole and my oh my. Probably the best milanesa burrito I’ve ever had, great flavor and portion. My husband ordered the tampiqueña steak, beautifully served and my husband really enjoyed it. Well priced for quantity and food quality.“

“Awesome little spot. Very authentic, delicious Mexican food. The quesabirrias are on point. The steak is huge and inexpensive. Also had the mariscos cocktail with shrimp and octopus and it was delicious. Even the small size one is big. The agua frescas are really good, especially the tamarindo. The gentleman working was polite and spoke english and spanish. Kid friendly, and they take credit card.“
