Discover where to enjoy delicious Mexican dishes in Mesilla.
“We stopped in for brunch and some of us were disappointed because they stopped serving breakfast food right as we walked in. The food we ended up ordering was delicious. We sat outside and it was beautiful. There was live music, which was a vibe. There isn't much of a drink selection. I wanted a Sprite but they only had Diet Coke or maybe Coke Zero. I was in Mesilla visiting family and will definitely visit again the next time I'm in town.“
“Dined in cantinas, pleasant and comfortable setting. Wait staff attentive and allowed us plenty of time to visit and enjoy a drink before ordering food. I had calamari which was good although slightly overcooked( which is easy to do) and my friend had shrimp tacos which she was pleased withAgain wonderful staff.“
“An interesting atmosphere. I recommend wandering around after ordering to take it all in. The food is your typical Mexican and is pretty average. The steak is quite good. The service was just ok. If you are a tourist like me it is worthwhile checking it out just for the history and atmosphere.“
“The food is superb. Excellent location. My 4 tacos cost 20 bucks. You pay for the view too. If everyone could afford it, there would never be any room in that joint. I love the outdoor seating with covering. We had our doggy with us. They had a special Mother’s Day band playing, it was a treat for mothers. I’ve been here 3 times so far- and looking forward to many more times.“
“The waiter Gabriel was outstanding. You could not ask for better service. I would have rated our experience 5 stars except for the fact the mashed potatoes and green beans were barely warm along with the meat. You folks need to find some way to assure the food is hot when it arrives on the table, not just warm. That was the only item we had to complain about.“
“My son and I typically go through the drive thru for burritos before work/school and it’s always quick and delicious . The couple of times I’ve dined in, it has been delicious and their prices are affordable. The huevos rancheros with green chile are my fave! Friendly atmosphere and clean!“
“We stopped in for lunch and had a wonderful meal. You can eat inside or outside. The dinning room is small but that adds to the charm of the place. I had the Mexican Mollete which I have never had before. It was delicious. My wife had the Pozole which was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go here again when we are in town.“
“Great , I mean REALLY GREAT thoughtful original dishes prepared to perfection.Vegetarian options: I don't remember all the names but there are at least 4 great entrees plus pancakes so it is pretty comprehensive. The fruit that comes with the spinach keish is plentiful and fresh! This place is a winner for vegetarians and those that aren't. I will become a regular at this place.Parking: At peak times it can be harder to find a spot in the lot , but just park legally on the side street on the south side of the parking lot . Pro Tip: You may have to go a bit down that street to find parking.“
“Great place. We stopped here on our drive from Phoenix to Austin for lunch. The fish tacos were excellent as was the chili relleno. We were driving, so didn’t check out the margaritas, but we will definitely come back here again sometime.“
“We decided to stop when passing thru and we are so glad we did. This neighborhood cafe had outstanding food and service. I had the Tacos Estrellas and my husband had Lichas combination plate. He said it was the best chile Relleno he had ever had. There is plenty of parking behind the cafe. We will definitely stop here again if we are in the area.“
“Great experience here! Dining room clean, comfortable and accommodating of little ones. Excellent food with vegan options. Great service. The lentil soup was awesome and a great touch. I highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Lentil soup, fajitas, enchiladasKid-friendliness: Plenty of boosters and high chairs and a great kid menu“
“Good tomalies and other Mexican style food. Small front counter and drive thru. Not a sit down restaurant. Best tomalies I have found on USA side of border not made in friend's home by their mother and grandmother etc. Not as good as those in Juárez but this saves the crossing time.“
“Great spot, awesome service and food. Fries are awesome. Just ordered about 15 minutes ago.(got a brisket torta) Home and enjoying my meal! Definitely recommend. Employee at window was great and genuinely happy to see us. 3 orders back to back. All great timing and quality.THANK YOU!!!Parking: Parking was just a tad tedious. But not a problem, especially since it is a food truck. Food makes up for the small walk over to the window!“
“So my husband was looking for good tacos, since he loves tacos! So he was browsing around checking out some good restaurants places to eat! He was going through some reviews looking around when he came around this restaurant! Close to where we are staying, so we decided to go check it out! To me you could be in the most ghetto place but if your cooking is awesomeness and good, well I don’t care! So we decided to go, never being there this is literally my first time being there! I love food and I enjoy eating it! If you don’t cook it right and doesn’t give me that vibe that it should as soon as it touches my tongue, then you’ll never see me again, but I’ll be giving you a one star review! So said that I really recommend this small nice restaurant full of delicious food and awesome people as services! It ain’t a fancy 5 star restaurant but to me is the best restaurant as Mexican authentic food you could ever have!! Good job! ????P.S there white cheese dip OMG Buenísimo mind blowing!! Next time I’ll be trying something different! I’ll be posting more pictures till next time ????“
“This place is perfect, I have eaten here twice since moving to new Mexico and I was amazed by how fast my pick up order was ready when I got there, I live about five minutes away from this location and it is now my go to for dinner. The staff are very friendly.“
“I had dinner at the bar and the bartender provided great service and attention. The food was tasty with enough spice. I liked that the chips came with a variety of salsas. The two drinks I had were perfectly made - one of their specialty margaritas and the Hormatcha.“
“From the moment we walked in, just automatically knew the food was going to be great. The aroma was mouth watering. A waitress walked by us with a mixed drink from the bar, beautiful blue drink. Server was so attentive to our chips and salsa and drink refill. Homemade Mexican food, service and atmosphere was excellent. A must go to restaurant and now our favorite place to eat in Las Cruces.“
“Best Mexican food that has a very different flair! Love their Shredded Beef Burrito…has interesting spice touch and their Huevos Rancheros and Salsa are exceptiona! Service is spectacular and friendly! A hidden GEM across from Lion’s Park on Picacho!“
“I love, love, love Miguel's Restaurant. Not only do they have artwork featuring the Archangel St. Michael on the wall, but they have great food and service. I am hooked on their street tacos for sure! And I love their tortilla soup, their brisket burritos (actually, anything with their wonderful brisket) and everything that I have ever ordered was good. They play either "Mexican music" or country-western and the place is very clean. I highly recommend Miguel's to my friends and eat there regularly.“
“Food was on point. The green chile was pretty hot, possibly could've used a little more salt, but The burrito my husband got had a stew meat in it that was incredible! Both dishes were pretty unique actually, and the cafe itself is very unique but a slight "hole in the wall". I'd definitely go back again! my hats off to the chef!“
“Nopalito has been at the mesquite street location for almost 60 years, but that's not the original address--casual--located in a old church building--very attentive wait staff--got chips and 2 different salsas--I had a red enchilada, with onions and a egg, of course! GF had a relano and a gordita--both plates had beans and fluffy rice--everything was very good--don't know if they serve alcohol--we had water--“
“If you're ever in Las Cruces, NM, LUCY'S CAFE IS A MUST! Delicious food, GREAT SERVICE, and a cute, affordable small time diner atmosphere. We were passing thru from Round Rock, Tx to Mesa, AZ and found this gem on S Valley Dr close to the Walmart. Our waitress Carmen was sweet, friendly and attentive. Lucy the owner must hire folks just like herself! We'll definitely be back sooner than later!“
“The food was. Good the people were friendly they have pictures of all the food available but not a single item was visibly priced so you don't know how much your spending until you order. Over all this place is good and clean I will definitely come back for an afternoon “
“@ Maria Ruiz I was in there that day and your brother is the one always in there asking for free food and since the boss said no to you guys this time you guys got mad and leave a bad review. You guys also stated you wanted to check your balance on the card when it didn’t go through for 9 dollars. He’s a man of business servicing his customers, running his restaurant, not a man of games giving free food over and over to you guys.“
“I decided to try the carne asada burrito and the birria tacos, and the price was fair. The asada had a nice charred flavor that added depth, but sadly, it was the only distinguishing taste; otherwise, the burrito filling was nothing special. The other ingredients provided some textural contrast, but the burrito lacked vibrancy overall.Moving on to the birria tacos, they were decent, but the meat was bland. I then dipped it in the consomé broth. Some restaurants leave the birria with little flavor because they let their consomé enrich the beef. However, this restaurant's consomé was flavorless. While the carne asada showed some promise with its char, if I returned, I might be tempted to try their steak tacos, but I would not go out of my way to revisit the rest of their menu offerings.“
“The torta de carne asada is awesome! Rice can be a little spicy at times, especially for the kids. Lemonade agua fresca is so good!!! Love their Sopapillas with sugar and honey! Drive thru service is pretty good. Never had to wait a ridiculous amount of time. Food overall is great! Totally recommend it!!!!“
“WOW ? ! ? ! You want GREAT authentic Mexican food?! This Mom and Pop establishment serves really, really good delicious homestyle food at VERY reasonable prices. I got one red and one green burrito to go. I saw what others were eating and should have tried those items ... and I should've added cheese to my burritos, not that they needed it, just the way I like it. Skip El Sombrero, skip Go Burger, skip So Senior, skip Napalitos, and head to WELCOME INN CAFE. You won't regret it!“
“We bought burritos and they were so good! Very filling, too! They don't skimp on the fillings and they make them fresh! Most customers bought to-go but we sat at one of the tables and enjoyed our burritos with salsa and cold drinks. Manzanita, Fanta & Sprite“
“This place is a hidden gem. The food here tastes like it was made with the best and freshest ingredients. The Chili Con Queso Steak from the breakfast menu was phenomenal. Perfect amount of food and very reasonably priced. Service was ok and the restaurant appeared very clean.“
“Small gem in town wonderful food. It might took them 1 hour to 1:30 to serve your food but is worth it. Gorditas, chimichanga , ground beef, caldo de res, green chili, chilaquiles, green queso, and are most the things that I have taste are delicious. I put five stars to service only because I think the staff is really kind it just matter that they making the food at order and takes them some time to prep.“
“I love this place. You get exactly what you want from this place...good tasting food. Of course, the gorditas are fab, however, a couple of times the shell was overcooked but a touch, yet still tater. Love the tacos, simple and Delicious. Love the green chile, potatoes and meat combo. Green Chile was great. I'll be back“
“Oh my goodness… this food is OUTSTANDING. A Top of Las Cruces restaurant!!! This is a whole in a wall type of spot, but don’t let it stop you. Had the shrimp grilled tacos, and they were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Loved it so much, I went back the next day and had the fish tacos. 4 neatly packed fished tacos with a killer chipotle mayo sauce. This is a must try.“
“Wonderful brunch, tasty food, great service, so good that we went back the next weekend! Nothing fancy, just from scratch cooking. A nice variety from pancakes and French toast to Huevos Rancheros. Love the house cured bacon, house made sausage, and green chile jelly!“
“Have lived in Las Cruces 7 months and finally made it to Tacos & Shell-ah’s. I see them on social media a lot with different specials. Made it tonight for $1.99 fish tacos on Taco Tuesday. 2 tacos each was plenty. Enjoyed 3 new to us hot sauces and we’ve tried a LOT of different sauces in our travels. They have an outdoor patio, but was too cold to enjoy.“
“The food is very unique. I love the Aztec Shrimp - they are huge, wrapped in bacon on a bed of nopalitos, and smothered black mole. Also, the Cognac Steak and NY Strip served 3 Ways are excellent. Highly recommend!Parking: Plenty of parking in their parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: All ground floor access.“
“I eat at Cocina every time I am in town from ABQ. I wish there was one in ABQ. I can not find a decent potato taco up north. Everything I’ve tried at Cocina is pure class. Outstanding potato tacos! Salsa is the best in Las Cruces since My Brothers place closed. I would give 6 stars if it was an option.“
“I enjoy the old Mexican atmosphere there, I have never eaten there, but I see the plates and the prices are excellent. Everything is still the same, 25 years later. Why have I never eaten there? I cook a lot every day ?. Great place to bring your family and friends.“
“Love this place. The California Burrito was awesome. So is the Carnitas Quesadilla. The best part of it all, however, is the salsa. Very flavorful and just on the edge of being TOO hot. Perfect. However, I always know the next morning where I ate the night before.“
“if your looking for phenomenal Mexican food look no other than Fidencios I’ve been coming here for a long time and have always left satisfied and wanting more!!!!! You want great food at a great price Come to FidenciosKid-friendliness: FIdencios LOVES THE KIDS!!!!Parking: Plenty of Parking“
“This restaurant was the perfect place to refuel after a long hike. The egg, potato, and cheese burrito (pictured) and veggie burrito were delicious and generous in size. The red and green house made sauces are very tasty. Definitely wash everything down with the horchata!“
“If I could give 6 stars I would! My first time going to Tacos JJ did not disappoint. I chose several items to include: Tacos Al Pastor, Carne Asada tacos, flauta plate, an the burger combo. The Limonada was extremely fresh an washed all the amazing food down amazingly. You have definitely earned a returning customer.“
“Best Tortas! The man making them is very kind. It is a little hidden and I think those are the best places to find the best food. It was sprinkling just a bit and its outdoors but there is a table to sit that is covered. I definitely would go back next time I drive through.“
“Traveling back from Aquila, Texas to southern Arizona after watching the eclipse we needed a place to have lunch. We picked this restaurant based on the reviews we saw on google and yelp. There was no wait for the tables and the service was exceptional. But everything paled in comparison to the food which was off the chain. Combination plate 1 with a green enchilada, Chilli Rellenno and the Green Chili Con Carne were exceptional. My only caution is that thier salsas are hot - like really really hot. Even the mild was more potent than what I’m used to.“
