“Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We ate there last night and had the most enjoyable evening. We have eaten in many places in Taos and each has their own unique characteristics. Der Garten takes top spot though. Everything served under the watchful eye of executive chef Asia. The food was delicious and the love and care put into the creations very evident. Service was relaxed and amiable without being intrusive and atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Christof and Asia - thank you for such a wonderful and authentic experience!”

“We visited the Lounge by Rolling Still Distillery after dinner. The drinks were handcrafted works of art that were beyond delicious. The staff are incredibly talented, knowledgeable and friendly. This is a must visit.”

“The Vegan Tortilla soup was delicious, but I got less than my husband did of a meaty stew, for $1 less. Neither soup was very hot, either. Service was good, but it took 15 minutes to get our soup.”

“An off night for 192. They apparently were short of staff; we were seated at our favorite table promptly but no one had been assigned to that table. We waited 15 minutes before someone finally took notice that we were being ignored. The menu was not as robust and enticing as last summer, and for desert the only offerings were scoops of vanilla gelato or sorbet. Perhaps management was waiting to introduce the new summer menu beginning with the long July 4 holiday, but last night's experience was several notches below what we had become accustomed to last summer and winter.”

“The vibes are FANTASTIC! The service was top notch and the Barista killed it! I watched people come in and leave happy. I’m a black coffee girl and it was perfection, I ended my visit with the cold brew coffee and it was the BEST. They have a great selection of donuts and muffins, but come early because they run out fast. I tried a breakfast burrito and it was filling and tasty. The menu is simple and easy to read. Plenty of options to charge your electronics, and sit down to read, or you can sit at their patio under an umbrella. I will for be back before I leave and we come back to Red River every summer, so I will be making this my spot.”

“My husband and I are from Amarillo, Texas. We stayed in Red River, 3 days. 3 days breakfast, 3 days lunch. They are only open from 7am til 2pm right now! We made it a point to be back on time to eat! lol. Great food, reasonable prices, very friendly staff. 2 egg breakfast with bacon or sausage, English Muffins, Chopped brisket BBQ sandwich, Hamburgers and fries, oh did I mention keep your cup! “Taos Cakes made my wedding cake and it was a highlight of the event!! It was beautifully decorated and the freshness of the ingredients really came through. The tasting process was one of the most fun parts of wedding planning. I can’t recommend enough!”

“At over 10k feet up the mountain, this was a great spot with an even greater view. It took 35 minutes to order food because of the line. There is only one register, so beware of that. Food came out in less than 10 minutes once you were able to order it. The chicken strips and burger were delicious! There is also a bar outside for those who like to partake and bathrooms for obvious reasons.”

This place is a down home local bar that also happens to have some convenience store items. The people here are nice.Don’t be a tourist… or a douche from TX.”
