About De La Tierra Restaurant

De La Tierra Restaurant offers consistently delicious food that is beautifully plated. Regular diners praise the attentive service and the creative menu, which includes items such as mushroom toast appetizer, lobster kimchi risotto, salmon, steak frites, chicken schnitzel, Ruben, and lavender cream brûlée. Portions are huge, so sharing is common. The bar menu matches the restaurant menu and features creative drinks. Guests note that the green chile cheddar biscuits are a must‑try, and the glazed carrots, Brussel Sprouts, and Salmon are also highly recommended. The wine list is good and many wines are affordable, while cocktails are tasty.

The ambience receives mixed reviews. Some diners find the setting relaxed, quiet, and comfortable, describing it as a peaceful dining room. Others feel the bright lighting and a crying infant create an uncomfortable atmosphere, likening it to a bus station. Despite this, many return for the high‑quality food and attentive staff.

Overall, De La Tierra is praised for its stellar food, generous portions, and friendly service, with a few concerns about the atmosphere. It is a popular choice for those who enjoy creative dishes and a welcoming dining experience.

Such a nice restaurant, and nearly empty as it was a Sunday evening and summer. Food was good, not great. His was ok and mine was mostly ok, but there were a few gristly chews. The real issue was the service. There were about 4 tables of two people and our server (1) forgot to bring our cocktails as we were mostly done...read full review

Was fairly expensive, but everything we had was good. It was very well plated. We arrived in Taos on a Sunday night and didn't realize the majority of the restaurants were closed. We were grateful this was open and we were able to get in right away.

They gave an amuse bouche before dinner that was beautiful and had good flavor, but seemed like it had been prepared much earlier.

Their drink menu is great.
