“Neat bar in a nice section of Bedford. This place was surprisingly busy on a random evening and you just have to fend for yourself trying to grab a table. I really dislike that they have no food except some random snacks. Although it’s nice that they let you bring food in so I got some sushi from the next plaza and brought it over. Interesting arrangement but overall just inconvenient. The beer selection on tap is excellent and was able to try a few options before picking my pint. Was hard to get service as you sort of fight for the bartenders attention.“

“Just a review about our experience at dooleys last weekend..it was such a great experience and our waitress Hayley she was nothing more than exceptional,she was very professional and extremely pleasant to talk too my wife just adored her. This is why Dooleys has suck a good reputation and it’s because of employees like Hayley we will most certainly be back to enjoy a great time.

“Bar Kismet is a beautiful hidden gem. This place knows how to highlight fresh seafoods in their raw tapas without overpowering their delicate natural flavors, and their house cocktails all have a maritime flavor profile that pairs well with seafood regardless of your choice. The atmosphere is charming as they repurposed the old architecture really well, and it is a perfect date night spot. We will definitely come back to this place in the future!“

Having the chef come out with the waiter to explain what was in each dish / course was also fun. They took extra care because of allergies too! Such a cool spot - popped in for some beer (which, by the way, their drink selection is MASSIVE) around 5-6pm on a Thursday and the place was already bumping. Love the huge tables and our door space - the cornhole game is a cute touch. We grabbed a pickle and chips which is self explanatory which was insanely good. Also recommend trying the sour beer options and the John Lemon seltzer which is essentially a hard lemonade but on the more bitter side which was to die for. A few people beside us grabbed hotdogs which looked and smelled amazing (so much so we tried to go back on Sunday and grab some to find out the garden is closed on Sundays). A really cool, chill crowd which really made the ambiance phenomenal.“

The food - for pub food, was definitely on the higher quality side. Everything has good flavour and was well balanced in terms of salt. I had the chicken wings and an order of fries. Lots of food even though they are both side plates.
Service was fast and friendly.
The atmosphere was chill, it’s nice when places do a good job of acoustics and set the place up so sound is absorbed and you can hear the people you are hanging out with.

“We stopped in at The Wooden Monkey while travelling from Calgary & Vancouver last weekend and had an incredible experience. Even without a reservation, we were seated right away and warmly welcomed.
The whole team was great, but Hannah truly stood out—friendly, funny, knowledgeable and so genuine. She brought the whole farm-to-table concept to life with such passion.
The food was outstanding so flavourful and thoughtfully crafted—especially the kale Caesar, lamb ravioli, and seafood pasta. As Italians we were surprised by their take on bruschetta but it was a delicious and creative rendition on their house made focaccia. If only we lived closer so we could come back regularly. Highly recommend!“

“This is our local taproom. I just love this place. Great bunch of people...staff and patrons. A great place to relax and enjoy some good conversation. The beer is the best in Halifax if you're into craft beer. Always a great selection and the beers rotate frequently so you never get tired of drinking the same thing....unless of course you want to. They have some specialty snacks to enjoy with your favorites beer too. They do not serve food, but you're welcome to bring in whatever your heart desires, in to eat. Jesse's Pizza and CHKN CHOP are just steps away.A couple of my favorite beers are 12 Years to Zion, DOA and Flat Black Jesus. I'm sure you'll have your own favorites.“

“I was meeting my cousin for the first time in many years and he selected this British Pub. Food was excellent, with one of the best chowders I have had for a long time. All the typical pub fare you would expect including a range of pies, curry and a very good special - Lamb Shank. Good beer menu and a decent bar/games room downstairs.“

“I always loved Montana’s in Ottawa but never tried it in Halifax. I came in for my first time with my girlfriend and a buddy in Halifax and was pleasantly surprised. Same great vibe and fun atmosphere of Montana’s and a table to scribble on. Sophie served us and was so kind and helpful! She described the menu well and suggested some great options. “I really did enjoy my visit. I ordered the Caesar Salad which had real Pork prices in it and what seemed to be homemade croutons. It was delicious. The service was great. The only issue I had is that the chocolate cheesecake I ordered for desert was a bit dried out from obviously being prepared before hand and kept in the fridge.“

You get a feel right away when you walk in that your home not only with food but beer. Then you are greeted by staff that are super nice and kind. “Great service today- we had a large party of about 35 (with a reservation of 26), it was no big deal they just whipped up a couple of extra tables. We had 2 servers plus a trainee.
