Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. “I just had a culinary adventure at Edna’s in Halifax that was nothing short of spectacular. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, I felt like I was dining with my own personal food guru! And the food? Insanely good—like if flavor and perfection teamed up for a gourmet showdown. We devoured lobster toast, beet salad, braised beef grilled cheese, and beef tartar. Each bite was a flavor explosion that left my taste buds in a standing ovation. We will be back!“

“This was one of the best meals we had on our Nova Scotia, PEI vacation. We saw the sign from the highway as it was near the airport. We decided to go for dinner and we so glad we did. We had the scallop dinner, and a baked halibut special. For dessert, we enjoyed the most delicious blueberry shortcake. Our server was friendly, super fun and definitely a very hard worker. We wish we’d sernit the night before as we would have eater here two nights.“

But what made our night is the incredible server we had who was both witty, charming, funny while also very professional. “Can I do a 6th star for service? Brian was stellar but everyone who delivered a course made me feel like the most important person in the restaurant. The food was spectacular. I came for the special Thanksgiving meal (as an American celebrating in October was different and special). Brian selected wine pairings, mostly local, for the courses and his choices were perfect. I added a shrimp and lobster cake to celebrate Nova Scotia. The symphony of flavors worked so well. And the meal ended with undoubtedly the best pumpkin pie I’ve ever had (salted caramel was just wow!!). I HIGHLY recommend this place!“

Live music was very relaxing and entertaining. A young lady named Kayla Mason was singing and playing acoustic guitar. Beautiful voice.

“We went to this bar for their disco night. It was large and clean with a great dance floor. Unfortunately, there was only about 20 people there that night! No matter…they had a great DJ and we ladies got our dance on. I’d like to come back for some live music in the future.“

“This was my first time at The Cannery, Bedford Row in downtown Halifax. I was greeted by friendly staff and my first thought was of the cleanliness of the restaurant and the staff were sharply dressed. The ambiance was chic and it was decorated in classy high end furnishings. I choose a both, yet still had a great view of Halifax harbour. The Braised Short Rib Pappardelle was cooked flawlessly and the sauce was tasty delicious. I look forward to the steak on my next visit. Mixologist Abi is amazing and pours the best tasting cocktails the city has to offer. His drinks please both the eye and the taste buds as he has a few tricks up his sleeve. “This place was recommended to us by a "local" in Mahone Bay so we thought we'd try it out. It was quite busy on a Wednesday evening, yet felt relaxed with a nice, cosy atmosphere. We liked the choices on the menu and both had a good meals.“

“Stopped by for lunch while on our way back home from NS camping trip. The wife made me haul a camper off of the highway, downtown to stop by - (I only agreed because it was Moxies) Service was a 10 star – food was a 10 star – drinks were a 10 star – this is probably the most consistent chain restaurant I have ever visited. I always review each experience because with most any restaurant, whether it be Moxies or any restaurant – each experience changes but with Moxies, it is consistent.“

“Firs time in after the renovation and rebrand it was nice and open. Tori was our server and was excellent and answered all my questions about the menu. The staff was polite and friendly. It was nice to see new menu items but the classics were also still available as the garlic bread has always been a family favourite. Food and service was great.“
