“We decided to visit the island on a whim today with our kids and didn’t bring enough food, so we started feeling a bit anxious on the ferry. Luckily, as we walked up the hill, the little shop happened to be just opening—perfect timing!

We ordered burgers, fries, and homemade ice tea—and wow, everything was way better than we expected! It wasn’t just because we were hungry; you could really taste the care and heart that Patrick put into preparing the food.

We also got some ice cream, and Patrick even gave a small souvenir to each of our kids. It was such a kind gesture, and the whole experience turned into a beautiful family memory.

Honestly, we might come back to the island just for Patrick’s handmade tea or those amazing burgers. Highly recommend!”

“All I can say is WOW! I took my boyfriend out for dinner here tonight as it’s been on my horizon for a while and i’m so glad we finally went. The duck was delicious, moist and so flavourful. My boyfriend had the rabbit and it was so tender and the carrots with this was fantastic.”

“Such a cute little spot - Sweet Treasures Confectionery has an amazing variety of ice cream, delicious homemade waffle cones, and so many sweet treats to choose from. The waffle cones were fresh, crispy, and smelled absolutely amazing! 😍
The ice cream was creamy and delicious, and the whole shop has such a fun, charming, nostalgic vibe. The staff were also friendly and welcoming. Definitely a perfect stop while exploring Lunenburg, especially on a warm day!🍨

“Well everything there is incredible.. but if you’re a real original Nova Scotian and you want an original “ Bubba Sub “ from times past… here is the place on the south shore to get it. Donair sauce on point , donair meat perfect. The sub bun. The garlic made by the same circle of friends that em them for us in high school … this is where you go. This is certified by Nova Scotians as the absolute real deal. You can eat inside like a tourist or take that bubba sub down to the water so you can enjoy it while making fun of that one dorey that will never sell. Do it Proper , you ! This place is perfect in all its originality true to the east coast!!!”

“For a 100 year old plus restaurant it was pretty good. My group enjoyed the beet salad and a bean burger.
My burger was definitely from a frozen patty. The chips were excellent.
The service was good. Gracie was very personable and nice. A tad bit slow on drink refills, but nothing too bad.”

The tavern is located at a cut little intersection near the water.

The pub has a nice fishing atmosphere.

The chowder is very good.
I had the seafood risotto, which was excellent. Lots of shrimp, scallops and lobster. Very well cooked.

They have a bunch of NS beers on tap too.

Definitely worth stopping in.”
