“I think turo has two decent Chinese restaurants and for different reasons. The other place has a better flavoured batter for chicken balls/general tao and the like. But the sauces are just okay.Kim Lam has nothing wrong with their batters. But the sauces are much better. And so this is where I go for Chinese every time. And their General Tao is one of the more authentic recipes too.Now I know some have said best egg rolls in town. But let's be serious, I've yet to have a "good" egg roll anywhere in NS. There is never fresh stuffing in a NS egg roll. They all have a mash of what I refer to as canned cat food inside. BUT, that being said, King Lam does have the best egg rolls in town and the inside is less describable as canned cat food than everywhere else.And to be fair, I lived elsewhere that ALL egg rolls had fresh ingredients and bean sprouts inside and never mashed. “After being totally unhappy with recent take out Asian food from Halifax and Dartmouth we decided to try one in Truro. We checked reviews and asked friends, we heard of NEW OWNERS had taken over at Mr. 10. read some reviews that were about the old owners. So glad we ignored the older reviews. Turned out it was the ULTIMATE Asian food we had ever had. Fresh vegetables, Chicken almond soo gai and pork fried rice were amazing and so fresh. We will order from here every time Asian food is desired. GREAT SPOT, GREAT FOOD.“
“It has been a tradition for a very long time to come here when we have dog show weekends in Truro. The last time we were here was several years ago and we always loved the food. It's too bad they no longer have the staff for dining service, but don't count them out on take out! Keep supporting this long standing restaurant that has been part of the community for a very long time!“
“This place didn’t disappoint . I used to go here when we worked at Margolians back in the 90s . This was hands down the best freaking Chinese food I’ve had in years . It was hot , lots of food and the service was great . I’m not gonna brag about the price cause please don’t change a thing . Some of us working poor folks can still go out and have a good meal and not go broke!!! Thank you to all for still being there !!!! Nostalgia and good food . It’s a rare thing now a days ❤️❤️“
“So, I have been coming here for a couple decades. That should say it all. They are very kind, but prices have crept up a bit in the last few years. However the amount of food they give you is enough for TWO meals, so it is still very much worth it! They are very nice and the food is usually amazing. ... I only have one complaint.Sometimes, I feel like old food is mixed in with new food. I can tell with the yellow sesame chicken. It looks like a NEON yellow when its older and it doesnt taste right. Last time I threw out some bad pieces, which turned me off. Just please only put fresh food in the container. The Bourbon chicken is truly amazing, but most of the other food is too. Rice is good, I like their egg rolls. They are also efficient and friendly. If you get here on a weekend at 12:00 Noon when they open, the food will be the freshest which basically eliminates the chance of getting older food. Also the food is so much better at lunch time when it was JUST made. Seeing the big line up's there time and time again, you know this is a favourite chinese food place of the area.“
