“First time eating here as we are from out of town. We we greeted as we entered the restaurant and pleasantly told to sit anywhere. The dining area is very small, about 4 tables, but is very clean. The menu is plentiful and priced reasonably. The food came within 15 mins, hot, plated wonderfully and large portions. Wonderful taste! We whole heartedly recommend a visit to or take out of this wonderful food! Thank you China Star!“

“Saturday evening (Feb 18) we randomly decided to stop by Jinloong for supper. We don't eat out much these days, but we were feeling like a treat. :) My husband had a combo Special A. It was a huge portion and delicious. I want to mention that my husband always finishes his plate. However, this meal was not only delicious but filling too. He had enough for in dining and leftovers for a take away lunch on Monday ! I ordered the Singapore Noodles, with no meat or shrimp. Our waiter was so helpful to make a lovely fresh enormous bowl of noodles with extra veggies for me. It was wonderful and I went home with 3 days of leftovers!! YAY!! This was such a great meal for "penny pinches" like us haha I'd like to say our experience at Jinloong was 5 stars, but I wish I could give an extra 5 stars for the lovely, helpful service we received from our waiter. He was a delight!! So kind, helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant don't look any further than Jinloong. The homemade sauces are absolutely worth every penny. The portions are fantastic, and the service is GREAT! We'll be back soon. I've included a photo of all our leftovers. Got the dinner for 5 and then got lo mein noodles with it because I've always liked those. Everything is actually on point. Everything is so good. Anytime we get Chinese food ... “I have been going to Hongs since early childhood, but most recently celebrated my post-wedding lunch there with my and my husband’s extended families. The food and the service have NEVER been anything short of perfection! We especially love the ginger beef, Hong’s chicken, stir fry duck, and Cantonese style egg noodles, but every dish we have tried has been delicious! The wonton soup was exactly what I needed, rich broth and perfectly delicate wrappers, way better than I expected from a weeknight out. “Popped in here after a day at the shops in Bayers Lake for a late lunch/early dinner at 3:00 pm with my husband and 4 year old son. The waitress was super friendly and sweet with my kid and her son of a similar age was around as well. Good family vibe here. Not a fancy place by any means but comfortable.

We ordered Egg rolls, Cream Cheese Wontons and Dumplings for appetizers! All were EXCELLENT and very fresh and flavourful. Some of my favorite Nova Scotian style egg rolls I've ever had with the meat inside flavoured really nicely.

The the kid got chicken balls with fries (very affordable little kid's meal version). We got fried rice, Beef and Broccoli, Honey Garlic Spare Ribs and General Tsao's Chicken. Here again, everything was so fresh, flavourful and just very well made, not too greasy.

This is my new favorite Chinese place in the HRM and I will definitely be back.“

“Probably the most delicious Chinese and Cantonese food I’ve had in Canada- we highly suggest ordering the Szechuan Beef. The portions were excellent, the quality was second to none, and the service was great. I recommend to anyone (especially Brits) who are craving truly exceptional grub.“

The beef and broccoli was perfectly sauced, not too sweet, and the portions were way more generous than I anticipated for the price. “The lemon chicken was so tasty from here, the portions were great as well. I literally ate here two years ago and still remember eating that delicious meal by the old library on the bench, 5 stars, easy.

“Stopped by the harbour for a late lunch on Saturday and the light coming through the windows made for some great shots before the food even arrived. The seared scallops were the standout, perfectly cooked and plated in a way that looked almost too good to photograph and eat. Our server clearly knew the menu inside out and didn't rush us even though we were clearly there snapping pictures of everything. Small space so it fills up fast around 7pm, but worth the wait for the atmosphere alone.“

If you enjoy being belittled, being called a liar, and spending 3 hours on a takeout fiasco LOOK no further this is the place for you. Make sure you repeat what you are ordering SEVERAL times. Make sure they repeat it back to you SEVERAL times. If you order something and receive something you did not order, you may get them to agree to bring you what you did order, HOWEVER, you will be called a liar. You will be asked prove they are at fault for the mistake or they will hold your replacement food hostage in your parking lot. You may have to snatch the food you paid for out of the driver's hands. I am not joking. I am speaking from personal experience.“

Had to get something quick and found this place.

The taste was above average but for the price ($10) and the huge portions, it was great.

Got the last of the lunch special pork with half and half fried rice and noodles along with Vegetables and 4 spring rolls. All of this for $10. Great value for money.

There are chairs nearby for you to sit and eat. If you want to fill you up at a really reasonable price, this is the place!!“
