“Delicious and fresh! I ordered the Curry chicken on rice and my friend had the Szechuan pork, and we shared an order of panfriend dumplings - it was all delicious! Very fresh and obviously freshly made on site. The dumplings were particularly nice <3 Price was very reasonable, the service wss very fast. The eat-in options are small and limited but still decent. Right on Dal campus which makes it very convenient. Will definitely come again!“

“First time eating here as we are from out of town. We we greeted as we entered the restaurant and pleasantly told to sit anywhere. The dining area is very small, about 4 tables, but is very clean. The menu is plentiful and priced reasonably. The food came within 15 mins, hot, plated wonderfully and large portions. Wonderful taste! “Saturday evening (Feb 18) we randomly decided to stop by Jinloong for supper. We don't eat out much these days, but we were feeling like a treat. :) My husband had a combo Special A. It was a huge portion and delicious. I want to mention that my husband always finishes his plate. However, this meal was not only delicious but filling too. He had enough for in dining and leftovers for a take away lunch on Monday ! I ordered the Singapore Noodles, with no meat or shrimp. Our waiter was so helpful to make a lovely fresh enormous bowl of noodles with extra veggies for me. It was wonderful and I went home with 3 days of leftovers!! YAY!! This was such a great meal for "penny pinches" like us haha I'd like to say our experience at Jinloong was 5 stars, but I wish I could give an extra 5 stars for the lovely, helpful service we received from our waiter. He was a delight!! So kind, helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant don't look any further than Jinloong. The homemade sauces are absolutely worth every penny. The portions are fantastic, and the service is GREAT! We'll be back soon. I've included a photo of all our leftovers. “This is a little gem on Quinpool Rd. It is unpretentious and spotlessly clean with an open kitchen. The portion sizes are large, the prices are modest and the service is polite and competent. We had vegetable ramen. It was full of noodles, vegetable and tofu all beautifully displayed in a large bowel. Enough to satisfy the biggest appetite. In fact, next time my wife and I may well share one order. My only complaint is that the broth was a little too sweet for my taste, otherwise a flawless experience.“

“Been going to Canton Garden for probably ten years now and stopped in again a couple weeks back on a slow Tuesday evening. The salt and pepper squid is still the best in Halifax, honestly better than some places in Toronto, and they got me a table right away even without a reservation. The owner always remembers my order which sounds small but it makes the place feel like a second home after all this time. Parking out back is tight on weekends but on a weeknight it was no trouble at all.“

“Popped in here after a day at the shops in Bayers Lake for a late lunch/early dinner at 3:00 pm with my husband and 4 year old son. The waitress was super friendly and sweet with my kid and her son of a similar age was around as well. Good family vibe here. Not a fancy place by any means but comfortable.

We ordered Egg rolls, Cream Cheese Wontons and Dumplings for appetizers! All were EXCELLENT and very fresh and flavourful. Some of my favorite Nova Scotian style egg rolls I've ever had with the meat inside flavoured really nicely.

The the kid got chicken balls with fries (very affordable little kid's meal version). We got fried rice, Beef and Broccoli, Honey Garlic Spare Ribs and General Tsao's Chicken. Here again, everything was so fresh, flavourful and just very well made, not too greasy.

This is my new favorite Chinese place in the HRM and I will definitely be back.“

“I have been going to Hongs since early childhood, but most recently celebrated my post-wedding lunch there with my and my husband’s extended families. The food and the service have NEVER been anything short of perfection! We especially love the ginger beef, Hong’s chicken, stir fry duck, and Cantonese style egg noodles, but every dish we have tried has been delicious! If you enjoy being belittled, being called a liar, and spending 3 hours on a takeout fiasco LOOK no further this is the place for you. Make sure you repeat what you are ordering SEVERAL times. If you order something and receive something you did not order, you may get them to agree to bring you what you did order, HOWEVER, you will be called a liar. You will be asked prove they are at fault for the mistake or they will hold your replacement food hostage in your parking lot. You may have to snatch the food you paid for out of the driver's hands. I am not joking. I am speaking from personal experience.“

“Stopped by for a late lunch on Saturday and the place was buzzing but we still got seated within ten minutes. Been coming here for probably fifteen years and the honey garlic spare ribs are still as good as ever, maybe better. The server remembered we usually split an order of the general tao chicken and suggested the sizzling beef this time, which turned out to be a great call. The kids' pasta came out fast and still warm by the time we finished our appetizers, which never happens when you've got a toddler losing patience. It was a little expensive but more than made up for that in quality. However today the beef in the Mongolian was very chewy and tough so I won’t get that anymore, since they are using “cheaper” meat. I got take-out and I get the fact the food would be cold, but it only takes me 10 mins to get home. Also, the girls need to speak up so they can be heard better. “I've had good egg foo young, but this is by far the best I've ever had. the tempura shrimp was crispy and lightly coated. I enjoy broccoli with beef and this did not disappoint. My only complaint is I live too far away to come back any time soon but will surely miss the owners and the food... I highly recommend!“
