“Not really big on getting food from food trucks, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity. It was one of the best fish n chips I've had in NS. The fish was a thin batter, very crispy and flaky, came with home cut fries that were cooked perfectly, and 2 very large pieces of fish for $13.50. Will definitely be going back.”

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

As you go through the door u see the sign Canadian Owned and also Truly Canadian. Then why are you not using French's catsup instead of Heinz. In our home we use only French's and it is Canadian. “North is one of our favorite local spots. They host fun events (the drag shows are wild and I love to see that type of support in our community). We love the atmosphere, food is great, staff is always lovely and the beer is always good - in fact, their sours are beyond the best around and I really hope they start brewing them again. I was definitely a bit disappointed that they haven't offered one recently so.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back your sours! I also think their merchandise offered is more stylish then a lot of other similar places. It has a unique surf/beachy vibe that I hope they continue. What's even better is that they offer a 15% discount you can use on merch, if you show your receipt after dining in their taproom! Keep up the great work!”

“Only my second time trying African food, but it was delicious. The workers were patient and understanding, and helped me a lot with ordering my food. There was a bit of a wait for my friend's food, but they did provide close estimations on time to be transparent. Great vibes in the restaurant, and great service!

Parking: Parking is around the back of the building, which is clearly noted on the sign out front. Time limit of 3 hours for parking (which is more than enough). Google Maps takes you to the parking lot, which makes the restaurant a little hard to find, but with some directions from locals, we were able to find the spot, thankfully, as I wouldn't have wanted to miss this experience!”

“Me and my boyfriend visited here on June 2nd 2025,as we don’t get to get out much and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and it was very quiet when we were there it wasn’t busy at all which was very nice. Our server was amazing she made sure we had everything we needed and was super nice with our suggestions and questions about the food and drinks. I’m not really a person who likes to sit down places and eat but this place was very nice and we will for sure be attending again. I got the breakfast skillet and my boyfriend got the chicken club wrap with poutine. It tastes great 5/5”

“The flavor of my masaman curry was very food. I wish it was a little more spicy and bold in flavor, but still good.
Really did not like the Thai iced tea. I’ve never had it without cream. This was like a southern tart tea.”

“No hostess at the front to greet people walking in, waited 10 minutes and still nothing, server walked by us looking clueless and did not bother to help, called the restaurant from inside the restaurant, still no answer, then finally 2 hostesses came at once and we were finally seated at our table. Very poor start to dinner but the rest was flawless: food, service, atmosphere and value. We almost left, but glad we didn't. Way to recover, that was a close one!”

“We had a busy morning at Costco and home Depot and we were very hungry. We could see this Harveys from the Costco parking lot so we were off. The young lady that waited on us was so friendly and happy it made us feel relaxed and we had a great lunch.

“As a person who travels alone a lot, I want to share my experiences about the awesome staff and great food that Le Rouge has to offer. While the menu is small it has something for everyone. Excellent apps , the most delicious steaks, seafood and the best Chocolate Cake. As a returning customer on the first night the Seth waiter /bartender ( recognized me and commented that I was here for my annual show. A year later he remembers my wine choice recommends a the best choice of a steak and of course my dessert taking great care in making sure my allergy to shrimp was never a threat. On my second night, again he recommends the Le Rouge burger that arrives hot and delicious and he tells me that my first choice of nachos contains a fish sauce that might contains shrimp he probably served dozens of customers but still remembered my allergy. I greatly appreciate that the staff was friendly with small talk and checking up me Seth and his new buddy Charbel were awesome to watch as they mixed up a constant array of drinks. With a great atmosphere, delicious food and supreme staff I give Le Rouge a 12 out 10 . I ate at Le Rouge for 6 nights and every meal was awesome 🤩”

“I would say this is the best Chinese restaurant in Halifax. This used to be one of my go-to spots. But the portions seem smaller this time, and the flavors aren’t as bold as they used to be.

The wasabi duck feet were still the highlight—boneless, with just the right hint of wasabi for a flavorful kick. Highly recommended!

The beef with pork intestines has always been a must-order, but this time, the intestines had a bit of an off taste, and the stir-fry lacked that perfect crispiness. The spice level was also noticeably lower than before.

Tried the new roasted fish this time—it had a strong cumin and spice blend, and the tofu inside was bland. Tasted like they just threw those in after the fish was cooked.

The wait itself was really reasonable and the woman who waited on us was friendly, outgoing and a pleasure to deal with. My husband and I love their burgers and tonight did not disappoint. Can’t wait to come back! Update. We were there tonight, same location. Just as fantastic, hot and tasty as the last time. Kendal rang us through and she was super cheerful and really great to deal with. The entire staff made our meal one we really enjoyed.”
