“2 block walk from the Lord Nelson hotel, the staff were superb and very friendly, we picked up food to go and as we waited for our food the staff brought us a complimentary glass of bubbly. We enjoyed the food so much that we when back a second time a few days later.”

“Yesterday we had the privilege of eating at The Narrows Halofax, Nova Scotia's #1 Public House and number #12 in Canada. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere and personable host made us feel like we were home! All of the waitresses were incredible and ours went over and above to make us happy and we truly had the best time. “We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

Every dish is carefully and masterfully crafted, with a lot of love from the chef who served us with a smile and great recommendations when we couldn’t decide. The plantains were roasted to perfection — gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside. The sassy croissant was absolutely scrumptious: perfect ratio of smoked salmon to cream cheese, lovely caramelized onions and the perfectly poached egg on top! The jerk chicken crepe was also delicious. The rose water digestive after we finished our meal was a lovely touch and the perfect way to finish off brunch. Would definitely recommend if you’re in Halifax! Skip the tourist madness for a homey meal.”

“Incredible food. The best bites we had on our weeklong tour of some of Halifax’s most highly rated establishments (including restaurants). The sauce, cook, and balance on the meals were perfect. The drinks are well constructed and novel. The bar tenders are friendly and creative with new drinks in the works.”

As you go through the door u see the sign Canadian Owned and also Truly Canadian. Then why are you not using French's catsup instead of Heinz. In our home we use only French's and it is Canadian. “The food in Edna is simply wonderful. Tartar as a starter was good, and the two fish dishes we had were perfect: halibut cheek and char with a Sauce Vierge both perfectly balanced. Service was excellent as well. Only downside was how loud it was.”

The shrimp vermicelli bowl served with fish sauce was absolutely delightful, and my husband had a dish with pork, rice, vegetables with a fried egg on top served with a sweet sauce. “We ate here while visiting the waterfront yesterday. It took a bit to choose which stand we were going to order from and I feel like we won the lottery by choosing this place. I had the ramen with BBQ pork and my boyfriend had the rice bowl with crispy chicken. Both were excellent!! The ramen broth was so flavourful, the pork was so tender and delicious and it was such a generous portion I was full for hours. My boyfriend loved the crispy chicken rice bowl too and it was also a generous portion. So tasty, we were talking about it all day!”

“Stopped in at Henry House in Halifax and ordered pasta. It was right on the money — properly cooked, well-seasoned, and honestly better than I expected from a classic British-style pub.
