Kitchen 216 is known for flavorful and well-seasoned soul food. Visitors enjoy dishes like oxtails served with mac and mashed potatoes, which are rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fried catfish is flaky and fried just right, while the greens and cabbage are seasoned well, with the greens having a bit of bite and the cabbage offering a buttery flavor. Candied yams are sweet with cinnamon and nutmeg, and the mac and cheese is creamy and satisfying, although some guests find it an acquired taste. The sweet jerk sauce with fried shrimp remains a favorite, and the pineapple tea is highly recommended. The owner’s attentive and personable attitude, along with welcoming staff, creates an inviting atmosphere. Guests appreciate the clean dining room, great music, and substantial portions of fresh food. Daily specials offer unique and tasty experiences. Visitors can even purchase the signature sweet jerk sauce in a bottle. The restaurant is best suited for takeout or pickup, as it does not accept cash; orders can be placed at kiosks or online. Whether parking at Walmart or nearby, a visit to Kitchen 216 promises hearty comfort food and friendly service, making it a place guests can't wait to return to.
