The French Workshop in Astoria is a charming cafe that offers a variety of baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee in a welcoming atmosphere. The large seating area makes it a good spot for both quick bites and lingering visits. The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant experience for guests. The menu features quality items like the daily special roman style burrata arugula thin sliced ham with balsamic drizzle, the spicy vodka pepperoni, and various pastries. Their cappuccinos are highly praised for being rich and smooth, perfect for slowing down and enjoying the moment. Many visitors enjoy the pastries, with favorites including The Duke, Crunchy, and black forest, which are described as delicious and visually appealing. The bakery section is connected to the cafe, providing a variety of baked goods that are generally well-liked, though some reviews note occasional issues with freshness, such as old or tough pastries and non-fresh profiteroles. Despite this, the overall experience is positive, with many considering it a spot worth returning to for its good ingredients, care, and cozy ambiance. The place is especially popular for late-night pastries and simple, well-made food that feels luxurious without being complicated. Overall, The French Workshop is a gem in Astoria that combines quality food, friendly service, and a warm environment.
