“I went here with a group of friends. It is a small intimate bar. They occasionally have a kitchen that serves homemade dishes. Lots of inexpensive bottles of icy cold beers, as well as mixed drinks. There is a pool table and a dart board, music from cd's. I had fun but I knew a lot of people in the bar. Very friendly staff. They also have "guest bartender night". A frequent patron acts like the bartender for the evening.“

We were in town helping another G-FORCE location with an Amazon project, so naturally, we took a break to explore the local food scene. First Impressions: We kicked off with the Deviled Eggs – the jalapeño added a nice little kick while the bacon... well, it was bacon – crispy and delicious. Next up were the House Pickles – sweet, vinegary, and unexpectedly tasty. Who knew pickles could be this good? The Mains: Harry went with the Pulled Pork – packed with flavor, moist, and paired with an excellent sauce. The Potato Salad stood out with just the right-sized chunks, and the Cornbread? Perfectly crispy on the outside. Steve opted for the BBQ Chicken – tender and juicy, coated with that same outstanding house sauce. And the Kielbasa? This place might not be Polish, but they nailed it – full of flavor and definitely a surprise hit! The Potato Salad reminded us of Grandma’s homemade classic, and the Collards had a unique twist that, honestly, we didn’t hate. “I grew up in Elmhurst and getting skewers at this neighborhood staple as a snack was always a treat I looked forward to. Now, I’m happy that we can buy as many skewers as we dare (before we pass the threshold of waking up with a sore throat the next morning).This Chinese BBQ skewer cart is a no-frills, mom and pop food stand on the corner of Whitney Ave & Broadway by the LIRR tracks. Most of their skewers cost between $2-$3; they’re perfect for a late night eats adventure! The seasoning the sweet Chinese couple uses has just the right amount of cumin, heat, and spice. We sat at one of their 3 tables this past Monday evening and saw a steady stream of customers lining up for their grilled skewers. When all 3 tables were full, a 4th table and set of stools was set up as well. The cart is at their spot daily between 5:30pm-1:30am - you’ll find them if you see the smoke!? “A spot that has history attached to it. Headed in this spot the day after St. Valentine and wasn’t disappointed. Rose petals and romantic decor was everywhere, beautiful gesture. The food was fresh and tasty, customer service was amazingly delightful with Ms. Sherry and the MIMOSA was my FAVORITE.

“My sister orders food from here on Sundays for my father, herself, and I. The food has always been good. Yesterday, I went into the shoppe myself and ordered. I was very impressed with the layout. There were items on the menu I didn't even know about prior 👍🏾. I am really impressed by the fact this is a Black owned establishment. I'm even more impressed by the fact the spot is owned and operated by some members of the Diasporic family. I say this because they know their clientale well and cater to them without flaw. “This was my first experience dining at a Korean BBQ venue. There is plenty of variety between the buffet choices for the hot pot soup and the BBQ grill and the sides. I really enjoyed the hot pot soup I’m not a fan of cooking/grilling my food at a restaurant. Armando the server went above and beyond to explain and tend to us.“

HIGHLY recommend the spicy powder on any skewer you order. I have low tolerance for spice, but it was just a small kick for a couple seconds. We were the only ones there so we may have had top notch attention for this reason. $40/adult, $20 for a 5yo and the 4yo was free. They sort this out by height. We LOVED their fried calamari. After one or two skewers you will find yourself hungry for more. The meats are prepared and kept fresh in clean coolers it’s a street cart so they meticulously clean the area making sure their customers are happy.
