“This was a celebratory gathering for a colleague's birthday. The bar setting wasn't quite a vibe I enduldge in regularly but if you're looking for a place to socialize, drink and watch sports. This place has it all going at once.
My most favorite aspect was the food. For a social sports bar. I was pleasantly surprised at food options offered. I am a vegan, keto, vegetarian 🥵 yes I know! Its a mouthful but my allergies call for a specific diet to maintain optimum health. I digress, they offered 3 types of French fries, Buffalo cauliflower, sautéed garlic broccoli. All fit me narrow feeding needs. So need a place for a diverse dining?? This is a great store to try out“

“What a gem. This cozy restaurant has everything I needed after a long day. The staff is friendly and polite. The space is comfortable - not too fancy and not too casual. Most importantly- the FOOD. The Salad Tropical was the most delicious salad I’ve had in my life - fresher than fresh with a unique and perfect blend of subtle flavors. I judge restaurants by their pork and the Lechon did not disappoint. Delicate flavorful seasoning complemented by tenderness. I will definitely remember this meal and recommend this place. “My ethnicity is Cuban American and this restaurant checked off all the boxes for me.
I ordered the Oxtail which they served me 4 large pieces that were very flavorful and tender.
Yucca fries were nice and crunchy , I requested a small bowl of Cuban mojo to dip my yucca fries.
The white rice and black beans were very good.
Staff very attentive.“

“Yesterday, I took my sister here for her birthday! We arrived around 5:30 pm and was immediately seated in a cozy little section in the back! Our server, Justin, was phenomenal and kept us laughing the entire time. We started off with the hot appetizers (chicken empanadas, crispy, shiitake wontons, and grilled shrimp with garlic mojo) -everything was delicious. Afterwards, we ordered the steamed shrimp wontons and our main course Bian Pao Salmon along with the ma-po maduros. Great food, great service. The overall experience was definitely a vibe. We will be back. Thanks again Justin for making our first visit to Calle Dao memorable.“

“We had a great time here for my brother's birthday. Went at 6 on a Saturday and wasn't too crowded so food came out quickly and everyone was satisfied. I had the steak nachos and a mango mojito. Both were good! The decor is so nice. Would like to go again while the bands are playing.“

“I ate at this restaurant during my Christmas vacation visit to New York. It is fantastic! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is so tasty. It was better than the big advertised restaurants. If you want a real delicious meal and some great music while you eat, go to this place. It's a hidden gem.“

“This was my first visit here. (I previously have had delivery on a couple of occasions and the food was very good.) Despite being a little early for our reservations and the place being very busy, we were seated immediately at the outdoor table I had requested in the reservations. The cocktails didn't take that long to be brought and were very good. The fried calamari appetizer (tapas) was outstanding- each piece perfectly crispy and not one piece was chewy. The sweet chili sauce worked very well with a mild heat in the middle of the tongue surrounded by sweetness. My wife enjoyed the jamon croquettas despite it lacking any sort of aioli or dipping sauce. My main dish of the deep fried Red Snapper was perfectly crisp on the outside, moist and tender inside and all around tasty. My wife enjoyed her fired cheese mofongo. Dessert of guava cheesecake and also the flan were good as well. Overall, service was good and the maitre d' walks around checking in on guests which is a nice touch. Overall, I thought the prices were very reasonable and you get nice size portions making it a good value. Just be aware that inside is fairly large and can get loud. Their windows are thick and outside you only really hear it when the door opens. Considering we live across the street and stare at the place from our windows, we'll be back, likely often.“

“I drive a lot for work and I’m constantly looking for nice wam plate of food! Usually I order to go! When I walked in the place is so cute that I thought it might be allowed to order and go! I was greeted nicely and they had no issues with my request! I paid around what I pay at other places for ox tails. I asked for it to be with Moro. My food came out with Moro on the side, beans, and white rice and the ox tails! But also, added plantain chips, and two cookies! I thought that was a great little gift! I’ll be back to dine here again“

“I gave Kuba 3 stars overall: My husband and friends thought their paella was very good, but my rabo encendido was disappointing. Not particularly flavorful. One large bone, three little bones, no vegetables at all. The live music was very loud, which some people probably loved, but it made it impossible to talk to my friends or hear the server.“

“We were stuck in traffic, and I changed my reservation from 5:15 to the next available at 6:15. I knew we would be cutting it close for our 7:30 show time, but I knew we would never make 5:15. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45, and I asked if we could be seated early. We were told no. OK, went to the bar for a drink. At 6:10, I went back, and we were brought to a table. My husband commented that he had noticed that table, and that it had been empty the entire time we were at the bar. We wound up having to rush through our meal and skip dessert (we had ordered the price fixe menu). I know that busy restaurants have to have policies in place, but we really would've appreciated the courtesy since there clearly was an available table.“

“Definitely worth visiting the food was delicious, drinks just right,* service warm and friendly and the ambiance nostalgic of Cuba. My server was from Guatemala not only was he excellent at his job he was a great ambassador to his native country. I highly recommend this restaurant.

“Gilberto’s is a historical staple in the North Bergen Community, proudly serving upper North Bergen with traditional hispanic dishes.

The menu consists of daily meals (ex: “we serve pot roast and pork on monday for this meal and beef next day”) along side some everyday general options.

This “cafeteria” really is so small and downscale, so dont expect complete upscale food, but you do have a warm cozy hispanic spot. There is a language barrier between English and Spanish but I personally didnt need to worry about it ymmv

Options include soups, some meats, some carb options (tostones, bean, rice) and some veggies.

Food is cheap, but there is a $10 card minimum.“

“I was amazed by "squid rice with shrimp". It's cooked with squid ink. There is no fishy taste at all but all the goodie including red pepper, green pepper oinion, pea and of course squid and shrimp. The drink is amazing. Be careful, they are very very strong! Owners and servers are super friendly as well.“

Not a fan of the yuca fries they were a bit on the dry side but its always a hit or miss when it comes to Yuca / Yuca fries. “The food here was pretty good. We had the paella and the arroz con Pollo. The first dish we ordered with chicken breasts were so tough. It was waayyyy over cooked. I could not even cut it with a knife. The service was good. The only issue was, when presented with the bill, the waitress high lighted the tip portion. As if we didn't see the calculations of how much 20 or 25 percent was. I found that tacky and distasteful. Please don't solicit tips, you'll get more that way.“

The staff was fun to watch cause the were so busy , they were working together in unison and picking up each others slack when needed. The price for 2 Cubans and fries and a coke was around $30. “Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

“Quaint spot in Soho, almost an institution. Small but lively dining room. One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Service was excellent, they took us even though they were closing. The burrito was great and the BEST Mexican Corn in the city, always cooked perfectly. Would recommend against and again.“
