“Don’t be fooled by the smallness of the place. The breakfast sandwiches are some of the tastiest I’ve ever had. I was looking to order a cake for a birthday, and I was impressed by their photos on Instagram as well as the flavor of the slices they had for sale (one of which I received as a gift). I provided a picture of what I wanted and they did not disappoint! Besides looking beautiful, the cake was moist and flavorful, even days later. Highly recommended!“

The cappuccino was a little piece of heaven, the desserts were just a tad sinful, and the whole experience felt like a visit to the Holy Chapel of buttercream and chocolate.

If you find yourself anywhere near Arthur Ave., De Lillo is an essential pilgrimage.

“I've been coming to this location for year's, and I've experienced it transition from different owners. Thank God this new owner knows what he is doing. I ordered this cake last minute for my Christmas day dinner. I was expecting them to tell me that it was to short notice for them to have it ready by that date since I literally ordered it 4 day's before Christmas. But to my surprise they took my order and had it done on time. It was ready by the time I got there. The cake to say the least was exactly how I wanted it to be and looked stunning and well crafted. And it was nice and moist it tasted like pure vanilla so good and rich.“

“I went here when it was new and didn't find a lot to choose from (maybe they ran out already that time of day). Popped in recently since was in the area and there were a lot more buns/baked items to choose from. Prices are lower than some bakeries. Mochi donuts are $3; buy 2 get 1 free. Steamed buns were ok: tried the pork and veggie; and combo bun - with added quail egg, piece of sausage and shrimp.
Staff is helpful, and amiable.
Have tables/stools so good for a quick bite. No restroom.

Stumbled upon Buttercup Bake Shop and they were so awesome! Totally worked with me and delivered the cupcakes with NO hassle. “I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep them a secret, but this cafe is such a gem in the Astoria neighborhood. Best baked goods and a great drink menu with seasonal options as well! I'm a huge pastry person and the owner bakes all of the yummy items you see in the display. The barista is also super nice and remembers all my random customizations for sweetness :)

They also have dog treats if you're picking up your order with a fur baby!

If you're a pastry person like me -- you must try the cinnamon roll, any of the bread puddings, the cookies and if you're into savory try the ham and cheese croissant.“

“I visited Yummy Tummy bakery for the first time today, with five other friends of mine to support a Black-owned business during Black History Month. The owner Melissa and Kaylan made the entire experience a delight. The two of them made sure we got all of our treats in a timely manner and treated us with such care. The sweets themselves were absolutely delicious. The fruity pebble cupcake particularly was the perfect amount of sweet, moist, and airy. “I can’t say enough good things about One the Cake. After an order error left me scrambling last minute, the owner went above and beyond to accommodate me and completely saved the day.

The cake was absolutely beautiful and unbelievably delicious — truly the first time ever that an entire cake was finished at a birthday dinner. Not a single slice left. We even shared it with the restaurant staff, and they were so impressed they asked where the cake was from because they couldn’t believe how good it was.

“My husband and I were so happy to find WildFlour in LIC a few months before our wedding! We were initially on the fence about getting a wedding cake, but as soon as we met Gina for our tasting, we knew we needed to have a WildFlour cake.

We loved the unique, modern, and (most importantly) delicious cake/frosting options - it was hard to choose, but we ended up doing a champagne vanilla cake with champagne & honey lavender buttercream for our wedding cake. (For what it’s worth, my husband is not a cake/dessert person, but he loved the WildFlour cakes. His direct quote: “Best cake I have ever had”)

Leading up to our wedding, Gina was super responsive and accommodating with a couple of changes we wanted to make. On the day of our wedding, Gina coordinated her delivery with my florist so that she could decorate the cake with fresh flowers. The end result was beautiful and the cake was incredible! (In fact, we ended up eating the top tier of our cake the day after our wedding because there was no way we could wait a year.)
